  1. Ultra Drill Walker all the way man. It's the best MM set out there. But actually, that video did kind of make me want to buy the reaper. It just looks so gappy in the box art...
  2. Does it matter?
  3. The thing is, whenever LEGO tries to build things like creatures or characters, they wind up looking like utter shit. And 90% of what you suggested is just that. Sure, it's POSSIBLE to translate Metroid or Mario to the LEGO world, but I just don't think they'd do it well.
  4. I was... Algernon. I had more fun getting banned on BZPower than any forum since. Pretentious bunch of no-lifes, those Admins. (actually, I'm still on BZPower, but I just lurk under a different account)
  5. Did they use a MARS MISSION torso for one of the minifigs?
  6. Some games would work better than others for this. Mario could have a castle set, but not much else. Metroid could have Samus's spaceship, but not much else. I think it'd be hard to do a gaming theme with most Nintendo games.
  7. I didn't mind aquaraiders, but I think it would have worked so much better if they had modeled it after AquaZONE instead of a creator set.
  8. I never buy city sets... But this one intrigues me. I hope it's released.
  9. I hope this isn't going to be this year's sci-fi theme... I was really excited about Space Police.
  10. The movie was godawful. Lucas is determined to ruin his own saga as much as humanly possible. The LEGO sets are good, though, I liked most of them. Not my favorite sets, and a little expensive, but not bad.
  11. Yes, it is clearly aimed at younger folks, but I see no reason why we couldn't get some enjoyment out of this. The parts, even though they look bad TOGETHER, are absolutely fabulous MOC-ing material for independent projects. I could put those colors to good use. I'll be picking up a few of these, unless the reviews give it a really bad rap. But at least two of those designs appeal to me.
  12. Honestly, I view this theme as a parts pack. Only two, maybe three, of the designs intrigue me at all. The color scheme is so bad, though, that I'll probably just use the sets are parts supplements for MOCs with green or red color schemes (READ: OR). I still like the drill thing.
  13. Hey, those look pretty good! Any more close-ups?
  14. Danger Will Robinson!
  15. Ultra Drill walker is by FAR the best purchase from the Mars Mission line.
  16. At first I was jealous of his sheer skill. But then I realized how much time and money he must have dedicated to these projects... and I decided I like having a life.
  17. That picture worries me. Did LEGO learn ANYTHING from Mars Mission jellies?
  18. Seconded.
  19. Yes. This reaction is not dissimilar from the reaction Agents got- and that theme turned out to be pretty darn good! ...I won't lie though, I'm only vaguely interested in two of the sets.
  20. I really want a steampunk theme.
  21. POWER MINERS!!!1 No seriously, I voted Space. I always have been and always will be a space fan at heart.
  22. Yes, I'll go with the general consensus here that these look bad, but I haven't given up hope. (A)- these are obviously preliminary and they weren't even meant to see the light of day. Bashing something LEGO hasn't even prepared for public release is jumping the gun. (B)- the pictures are incredibly blurry and a lot of important details- figs, monsters, greebles- are as yet unknown to us, and such details can really define a theme. Also, I can already see two sets I think I might buy. The smallish drill thing looks very good, and the mining rig (big set) looks intriguing to say the least. So really people... remember what you are looking at here.
  23. Not bad... boxy, obviously, but at least it's a nice departure from most Blacktron II ships. The highlight is obviously the greebles. Nice part variety.
