Danth's unwarranted rudeness is very deserving of such a response, and to expect otherwise would be quite far fetched, especially on the internet...
Wait... what?
Those sure look like space ships to me. Maybe, at the MOMENT, they're cruising over a planet's surface, but if you lack the imagination to send them on their way through Space then I don't see why you're into LEGO.
Those cars aren't doing any hovering; I don't doubt for a moment their ability to traverse a vacuum.
The other sets you've mentioned are clearly the ground-based elements of the theme, which your beloved "classic" Space wasn't without.
You must know something we don't, because to the best of my knowledge we haven't actually seen any of the sets yet, save two impulses and a preview poster.
Seriously people. It's a little too early to be judging wouldn't you say?
I understand that there is certainly a "city in space" element to this new theme, but this is mostly coming from the Agents-like "situational set" trend... AKA Gold heist, container heist. We still have a Galactic Enforcer, Prison Transport, etc... I think if you just give this theme a chance to develop and show itself you might be pleasantly surprised.
