  1. This is so beautiful, and the perspective effect works perfectly, I love it.
  2. Thanks, I may mod the cockpit in the future and that will certainly make it look way better.
  3. I think what could be done with the UCS falcon is to use a very similar mechanism to this one but with double beams like you can see on the landing gear of the new Tydirium set, regarding to the boarding ramp, it shouldn't be too hard because its supposed to stand taller than this one so that you would only have to place a swiveling long plate with a little locking mechanism (the problem with most MFs is that the docking ring blocks the way in because the falcon stands too low), but you could have a better answer at the general lego questions topic.

  5. Thanks guys, glad you liked it, I may end up getting the new Tydirium but only to replace some bricks in this model, I think there is a lot of space for improvements on the official set, but this one is certainly way superior to the oldest one, (its not that hard to improve on such an old design, it had quite a bit of flaws, it's actually like an updated version of it).
  6. The millenium falcon, being such an iconic ship is a must have for any collector but it has always featured the same significant flaws: non retractable landing gear, useless boarding ramp (its not like the figs will actually get in there that way but you know ), and tiny flimsy little quad blasters, so here are my solutions to such issues: 25 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 26 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 20 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 21 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 22 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 23 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 24 by Nom Carver, en Flickr I can go deep into details if I see any interest, by the way, this is the 2004 one.
  7. With the arrival of the new Tydirium set, I know most of you will not be impressed with this creation, however I am pretty proud of how it came out because the actual set, even though its certainly looks more detailed, is way too big compared to the rest of my collection and I already have all the SW vehicles I would ever want and wont deliver my self to the hype of buying just about every updated version of what I already have because it doesn't fit the scale (they are not actually to scale but don't look oversized or dwarfed beside each other). I always wanted to have the official set released back then but never could manage to get it, I eventually got a landing craft but it was way below my expectations, so I dismantled and rebuilt it multiple times until I got some other useful bricks that helped me to complete a custom version of my cherished ship, later I made some improvements and finally completed this build to achieve the size and sturdiness I wanted, its still not perfect but is quite close to what I had in mind and can sit beside my AT-AT and some old modified TIE fighters without bothering me (I am a little obsesive, you know ). 03 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 05 by Nom Carver, en Flickr The cockpit is basically the same of the landing craft, I tried some other designs of cockpits but non stud up to my requirements of seize and shape, however this one flows with the fuselage good enough. 14 by Nom Carver, en Flickr The dorsal wing is also held tightly thanks to some ideas borrowed from the T-16 and the Tydirium, I would have used white beams but grey will do fine for now, and this also helps to break the white monotony. 15 by Nom Carver, en Flickr The side wings swivel very swiftly but are tight enough to keep them in position. 12 by Nom Carver, en Flickr It also features a turret on the rear and access to the interior with room for the emperor and one royal guard, it could fit even four troops with slight mods but I like it just like it is. 07 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 09 by Nom Carver, en Flickr 10 by Nom Carver, en Flickr Comments and criticism are welcome, I hope you liked it.
  8. That is so awesome! I love to see ARC gunship mods like this one specially if they includes the ARC troopers, I only have a couple suggestions: first the bubble turrets on the sides, they are very well done but this specific ship isn't supposed to have them and secondly, I think you should either replace the clone wars helmets (the clone gunner and the one on the turret) with episode II ones or the episode II ones with the clone wars ones (the commander fox for the red one, commander rex's for the blue ones and the head hunter pilot for the gunner), but that is just me being picky, it's perfect just as it is  .
  9. I dont know if this is the place to ask but I will do it any way, with the end of the Hobbit movies, how likely is that we will ever see a witch king or Sauron minifig?
  10. For some reason I have always preferred pictorial reviews better, but your style is certainly more entertaining and illustrative, thanks for another useful review, it certainly begins to make me think about buying this set.
  11. I think there is something called brick wars that features similar rules to warhammer but with the added bonus of partially dismantling your figs and vehicles as they receive damage, it is played some times with factions with a common theme or a mashup of crazy creativeness (like star wars vs cowboys or space pirates vs zombie ninjas ), you know, rolling a dice and moving certain distance and so on, and if there is not there should be (it would certainly be quite fun), but I am sure there was a community that did that somewhere on the net. In my case, I keep my sets on the shelf and alter them to fit my taste, I also do some MOCing from time to time and enjoy swoshing them a little bit when no one is watching (I wish I had all this sets when I was ten). Edit: I found it! you may find this interesting: http://brikwars.com/
  12. I think that is why it features Finn and Rey on the cockpit, I tried to update my falcon with the new chewbacca and never could find a way to make it fit properly. The falcon looks pretty good so as the x-wing, but I will stick to my OT collection, the falcon does not have enough of a new look to me (I got the old one already) and the figs are of no interest (IMHO), while the x-wing could have been more tempting in a white/grey/blue color scheme, I am not too excited about the episode VII sets but I understand all the hype, it's just that to me this is going to be like the super hero line, just another theme with cool stuff but not interesting enough to spend on it.
  13. The problem with the new chewbacca is that it wont fit into the MF cockpit.
  14. I have to admit that neither the vehicle nor the set appeal to my personal taste but I really like these retro reviews, well done! I hope we see more like these in the future, after all, these were the first SW lego sets, looking at them reminds me of the time in which SW lego was only in our wildest dreams, I got very excited when I saw the sets in a catalog for the first time.
  15. Is that Darth Maul face smiling? that looks so weird, almost like if it was making a joke of it self (like in the lego SW animations).
  16. Here are a couple of the best ones I could find: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104790&hl=advanced http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108461&hl=advanced
  17. Greetings Schwizzle! welcome to eurobricks, I am also a "moder" my self and use to alter my sets to fit my personal taste, your modifications certainly help out this vehicle but if you are into looks over accuracy, you could also do several improvements on it, I have seen a couple pretty good mods on this set but that will also depend on your brick availability.
  18. Maybe it has no face because in the movie we wont get to see her/his face, I mean that it may be a reveal for another movie because: is this actress really a famous star at all?
  19. I think is a droid torso: with this: and this:
  20. Update: IMPERIAL SHUTTLE ( 10212 vs 75094 ) by Massif Central, en Flickr
  21. Thanks to you too Lego-Freak, this topic wouldn't be possible without people like you who are willing to share their photos or bother to take them.
  22. Thanks again Artanis, you have provided some very useful pics.
  23. Oops, my bad .
  24. Wow! that made a whole lot more sense than the actual movies, add another 10 minutes of battle scenes and tie some other scenes and you would have the revindication of the PT (even if its made with lego).
