  1. Welcome to Eurobricks DarthYannick!
  2. The key is to walk confidently up to the counter and ask in a firm voice "May I have that Magazine Large Lego Set from the top shelf please." Then pay with cash and turn around and hope you don't bump into your neighbours on the way out.... /Shudder/ I don't miss my teenage years at all.

  7. But where's the challenge in using your own vehicle? I could drive from home to Oklahoma City, then KC and then StL and back again in the same day. That would be 3 stores in 24 hours, but it'd be 17 hours of driving and 1200 miles....
  8. Camelboy68 has inspired me! Just for grins I decided to see what it would take to get to multiple Lego Stores using only public transport here in ultra-rural Missouri in a single day. Hmmmph, there's only one bus a day from here to Kansas City and it arrives at midnight. I guess I'll spend the night at the Bus Station. Then I have to wait until 10:00 the next morning and make it to Lego Store in Overland Park. Then it's either Head to Union Station to catch train to St. Louis. One train a day leaves at 4pm arrives at 9:40pm (but at least that late departure would give me ample time to pack those PAB cups). That late arrival means that the Store would be closed.... Head back to Greyhound station and catch the 1pm Greyhound to St. Louis - that arrives at 5:30pm. I'd be able to make it to the store before its 8pm close. So in 24 hours of traveling I could make it to two stores. But I'd be stuck at a St Louis Bus Station after dark with too many boxes of Lego to carry. Assuming I made it through the night then it'd take me nine hours of Public transport/waiting around to get home from that first Bus the next morning. I guess I'd be traveling for nearly 40 hours.... I think I'll pass....

  13. I see this as an Olympic sport in the future.... I tip my hat to you!
  14. Excellent job! The scale is perfect and it has great detailing.
  15. Fer shure! But I bet TLG are analysing the individual themes to uncover specific seasonal buying patterns. I'm guessing that not all themes in all territories are showing this deferment (or at least not to the same extent) and then the key is to identify whatever external factors are influencing the purchase. TLG's problem (along with many, many other companies) is the Production time it takes to ramp up a specific theme or set to cater for a specific need and thereby reducing the need to carrying too much inventory.
  16. Societal drift? Now you talking my language! I work as a Maths-ninja for a Tech Company and I spend my weeks analyzing and predicting volume patterns. We've had success using some of the tools and techniques from Investment Management - mainly with oscillators and fibonacci. It's fascinating (and it enables my Lego addiction)
  17. For me it has to be the 30414 Modified Brick 1 x 4 with 4 studs on 1 side. Can't get enough of these....

  19. That's a beast of a Mecha! I like it a lot.
  20. I'm guessing that it's one of each of these... A 2 x 2 Dish Inverted, a 2 x 2 Round Plate, and a 2 x 2 Round Plate with Rounded Bottom and With a small Pipe connecting them together and a minifig hand as the handle.
  21. Welcome to the forums TheOrcKing!
  22. Excellent facade and great interior detailing. You have to build this in real bricks!
  23. Plenty of details to enjoy and I'm digging the ride-on-reindeer! Good luck in the competition.
  24. An original idea that's well executed and it's making people smile - what's not to like? Love it!
  25. Saturday night. Finished sorting my Lego, time for a few beers and..... Pop Will Eat Itself Can U Dig It!
