  1. You could always part it out, as none of the parts are very special/unique. I bought a copy which had some missing pieces for 120$. It's pretty big, heightwise about the same as 8053's alternate harbour crane.
  2. It is quite possible. But it wouldn't be leak-free, and cause one big mess. Since fluids have more density, it should leak less than an air-filled system though.
  3. Bricklink is your friend. On average, about 0.50 Euros a copy.
  4. So you're the designer of the Test Car:P
  5. This is just amazing. I can see where you spend your time, apart from writing book(s?)
  6. Buy some replacements from an 8110. They have the same size, and works flawlessly. I think the original springs were underdimensioned.
  7. Thanks for the read! A lot of great pictures here, showing various obstacles and their solutions. I really like the suspension, and the gun! Looking forward to see more excellent work from your end:)
  8. If you use eZthumbs to batch-resize your pics, you can post them here in bigger size (800x600). I would love to see more, but browsing BrickShelf manually is a pain:-)
  9. This looks awesome! Looks like 2-3000 parts?
  10. 8420 all the way! No stickers, fat tires, great looks. As for 8838. check out this review:P
  11. Cool. I envy you builders with such great skills...
  12. This almost looks like an official set, part from the single-color scheme:P
  13. This looks really nice. Do you have a picture of the boot and the underside?
  14. Thanks for the pics, It looks really agile. Are you able to disable the rear steering for when you're driving normally on a road, or is it permanently on? Like routing that function to a spesific channel on the remote? I like the design a lot, considering the few body panels used. It keeps the weight down also. Looking forward to the video(Y)
  15. Maybe the 8847 as well? I know it's basic, but so is the real thing.
  16. The 8868 is cheap though, around 100$. With that and the Back-Hoe you'll be set:D I'd recommend buying through BrickLink. Read my opinions here, along with some photos: 8868, 8455
  17. Nice work, it looks very close to the real thing with such few pieces. On a side note; does the front tires bend much outwards when the model is steered? It looks as though they are attached with just some frictionless pins.
  18. Yeah tell me about pins, I just finished indexing the 9397 Logging Truck from last year, and I think almost half of the pieces are pins/bushes/connectors. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues, but it seems you are still able to enjoy your hobbies. For a long time I thought about not selling any of the sets, and getting all like BlakBird. But I don't have the space for it anymore.
  19. 8435 is my least favourite of these sets, because it is not 4wd, yet it bears the name. Keep the blue tow truck instead. I was struggling with the same issues two months ago when 2/3 of my collection was packed away in bags to be sold later. I'm still indexing to see if all parts are there:p
  20. This looks to be working properly. How much air pressure does the props generate? Could you make something fly away with it?
  21. I don't really know. I think the Bricklink index is correct, but I haven't dismantled this since I first built it. I'm working on indexing atm, taking each set I have, and comparing it to Bricklink's lists. Here is the inventory for this set. The most important parts are the pole reversers and the micromotor. Those are quite expensive. Btw: sorry for the horrible pics. This was my first review, and they were shot with my phone with no editing. Consider this a test review from my side.
  22. Nice work! I think it looks like a pre-WWII race car:D
  23. If you make a wanted list over there, and then sort "by shop", it would probably be the easiest way of ordering the spare parts needed. Be aware, though, that some sellers have a minimum buy limit. Happy building!
  24. The rubber bands in this model are actually rubber belts, and is a thicker and a lot more durable than rubber bands used in other models. They came is about 8 different sizes and were used in various sets spanning from 1975 to 2001, when the clutch wheel took over. This was the last Technic model to use the rubber belts as a clutch.
