SBrick makes your trains smarter - Kickstarter
toxicbananna replied to pasztorl's topic in LEGO Train Tech
will we be able to build our own layout on our devices and integrate with sbrick for track control? If so that would be ideal!!! it is, but also very, very difficult! -

"eeeeeee" sound when using PF train motors
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yup that is exactly what I meant, when while playing with just the standard 9v controller, the motor does not whine at all. But if I connect PF system together with the 9V controller (as i would want to PF system to control the voltage on the 9v tracks), I did notice the sound from my 9v motors, thus this topic was created. :) Cheers -
"eeeeeee" sound when using PF train motors
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
whoa thanks guys, after reading up I finally understand that the sounds actually are from all motors(including 9V). initially i thought only PF train motors produce such sounds. -
Just wondering why when we use PF train motors, there will be "eeeeeeeee" sound at low speed? Any electronics expert knows??

Replacing 9v Internal motor with a RC motor
toxicbananna replied to Lazarus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
that great!! finally understand it what are the difference! thanks for making this tutorial for newbies like me! -
That great, do post if it fits directly to a 9v motor. From I understand, you must sand the tip of the plastic before fit directly into the 9v case. Can you confirm that PF motor will be a direct fit except we need to resolder the connection? As I have about 4pcs of RC motor and unsure if I should rip it open to do the switch or sell it

How about motor from lego train 8866? are they direct fit?

MOC: Rail Clean Train with Vacuum Cleaner and Railbrush
toxicbananna replied to Haddock51's topic in LEGO Train Tech
woah, this is inovative.. how about cleaning the rail? -
you mean you purchased the motor from Micro-Mark before, and is it a plug and play? also when you said small amount of modification is needed, do you refer by opening the back cover from the lego 9v motor or you will have have to solder the connection of the pin of the motor to the plate?

Maintaining Constant Voltage Around a Large Track
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
ok last question, will like to check how the voltage run in a cross section track, does the voltage and current go straight thru?(without splitting towards the left and right) or split to the left or right and straight? -
Maintaining Constant Voltage Around a Large Track
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
understood with ur arrangement, would like to check how did u use a 3A 9V supply? change the transformer will do? or modification needed to be done on the controller? also, the motor in our 9v is replaceable? as some of my motor are more then 10years old!! -
Maintaining Constant Voltage Around a Large Track
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
i do learn a lot from you guys, after thinking i guess i will need to pull a wire out to place in another sector. also would like to know how the voltage split on a the cross section track? my big track will consist of a big figure 8, could advice which point should i place the 2 connector? near the cross section track? -
Maintaining Constant Voltage Around a Large Track
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
understand by using another power connectors at the opposite will maintain the voltage, the reason of not doing that is due to have to run up and down. i would like to just control it with one power source. does modifying the controller helps? did anyone did that? what is the factor to cause the voltage to flow thru around the tracks? more amps?
