  1. Hybros eyes Heweyrt. "I am not sure I trust you, either, or this Warden. But if you paid for half of this venture, then I suppose it is only fair that you are represented as well as the Doctor." "To the Tritech Headquarters." Hybros nodded at Daneeka. "I know the way, and so does Ellaria." He turned to leave, poking Skrall as he did so. "Just remember it is four against one. If this Warden tries anything, I trust you will have the quicker trigger finger, heheh." Hybros led the way to the Headquarters, taking in the city's sights. Alleyways, rooftops, sewers... bustling crowds, shady individuals... a threat could come from anywhere. He usually felt at ease in the streets of Eubric, but on important missions like these he had to constantly scan for would-be combatants or thieves. Hybros did not look at Deborah, but it was clear he was talking to her. "I am sure you heard our names while hiding back there. How do you know this Heweyrt? Something tells me that he is not all that he seems, eheh."
  2. Hybros looks down at his oriental garb that reflected his training with Lee Long, and the burnt and torn cloak that had resulted from it. "You mean you can feel another's pain? I did not know this... all I knew was to inflict it." Hybros eyed the man suspiciously. Anyone who clouded their intentions, especially to the ones they hired, held a questionable character. But Daneeka trusted him, so that was enough for Hybros. He turned back to the Doctor, listening intently to his lecture. Hybros looks down, trying to hide any disappointment at the lack of certainty. But when he looked up again, his eyes were filled with determination. "I could not agree more Doctor, hehehe... From my experience there is much to be learned from the past. And much to be learned from what lies beneath..." Hybros nods. Legonardo. "I have done several deliveries involving this kind of technology, I think they can trust me to complete such a task again, hehe." He speaks to the party. "The Wolfgang, the Plague Doctor, the Crimson Crown... we must be prepared to fight them all if we wish to succeed."
  3. Songs keep getting stuck in my head from seeing quest titles. , . It's in reference to the god Helveltia. Ninja'd!
  4. "You could say that, heheh... I am not sure what the result of my... injury is, but I know that it was the price to pay for my new abilities... Yes, heh." Hybros entered Daneeka's workshop, recalling the time when he, Guts and Docken we're put into tubes to go into Guffington's dreams. He liked the rich old man, but hoped he would not hav to venture into someone's mind like that again. He removed his hat and bowed to th Doctor. "Doctor Daneeka, it is very good to see you again. Legonardo and Jun send their regards, eheh." Hybros nodded at the other man. For some reason he made the imp uneasy; there seemed be more behind his devious grin and mischievous eyes than he intended to give off. Hybros listened for the answer to Ellaria's inquiry before speaking to the stranger. Instead he turned back to Daneeka. "I am ready. Whatever is out there I am prepared to face it, and I know that you are also well prepared, Doctor. I do wonder... what type of demon or other creature do you expect to find down there? I have been beneath the surface many times, and have seen everything from dragons and arch demons to gnomes and Moon Elves. Everything but what I seek from below. Do you..." Hybros paused. It was doubt that had been nagging at him since he heard about this quest from Legonardo. Would he find his people at long last, or would it be another failed search? He held his tongue, he did want to know the answer quite yet. "We will... Do our best to find what it is you are looking for..." he finished lamely.
  5. Happy anniversary! I love being a part of this community and it's been a very fun three years. That's really good to hear! New players are a big part of what keeps this going. It's not easy establishing yourself when the game is so full of lore and characters and an already-established player base, but I'm really glad when new players just keep trying and eventually become prominent characters. Purpearl and Matthias have both become fleshed-out even though they've only been on a few quests, and brand new characters like Actaeon are already starting to impress! So: keep it up!
  6. "Speaking of assassins, Nyx, I have retired the red and blue cloaks we got on that quest in favor for more... erm, magical techniques. I will mostly be effective in the front of the battle since I will use my hands instead of a wand, but maybe you can tell me some tips on this ethereal power? It is not something I am very used to yet, eheh." Hybros breathes in the fresh ocean air. It had become something that he had become accustomed to since his time in Eubric. It was more familiar than the stale underground smell that he experienced a very short time ago, and would again soon. "Ellaria, I can also help you heal the party, though I am not very experienced with that, either..." For once, Hybros felt completely out of his element when it came to battle. He hoped he would not drag the party down with his new fighting style. OOC: Oh yeah, I think I should also have 150 of Arthur's gold. So in total I should have 3 Grand Tonics and 1184 gold.
  7. I was looking for the "Regret", and mistook him for Russel in the background. They're both crustaceans right? I'm very excited for 107. I think the party dynamic will be interesting, even if the only difference is Hybros traded for Boomers and Atramor.
  8. OOC: Thank you for doing this quest, Zepher! I stopped at the Marketplace but forgot to update my stats: I should be 3 Grand Tonics heavier and 90 gold lighter. Also, a few reminders abut Chi Monk because no one's played or hosted one before, and I know we're both bound to forget. 1. I have Special Guard, so a 1/2 chance to avoid negative effects caused by Special Damage. 2. I have Natural Respite I think that's all, but I'm sure we'll forget at some point anyway. Hybros walked from the Hall towards Daneeka's with the party. It would be good to see the doctor, and old friend, again. He walked beside Nyx. "...the others from Strivvi have told me of what happened. It is... unfortunate to happen once, let alone twice, but perhaps you will succeed upon the third time. Here, we will succeed. I know it..." He wore a face of determination, but lightened up when he realized how serious he was being. "And we get to see Doctor Daneeka again. I am sure you remember that time at Guffington Manor, with Doctor Everstein, Lord Chauncey and those assassins, eheh..."
  9. Very cool! The top/nose and the wings look nice and sleek. Although I think the nose could be a bit longer and pointier at the end. Nice render, too. Which program did you use to do it?
  10. Hybros wanders Eubric, preparing himself for his next quest and aiming for the Hall. Upon his return he signs up for the lottery.
  11. This is exactly how I see it. Only rolls that use weapons are affected by weapon effects (except for spells and healing, which in the rare case of Alpha and Omega, applies the same way). I agree with all of those.
  12. Sorry for the delay. I've unexpectedly had no access to a real computer the past few days. I understand that updates are slow. The status of the Fields and the QMs is currently being discussed. For now I'll try my best to update regularly. Doc, I too, forgot completely about the Dread Hat. I've made corrections to the last round. 13. Hybros stops at Portia's and purchases 3 Grand Tonics for 90 gold. "I suppose I will be needing these now..."
  14. Hybros grins. He sits silently for a moment, and takes note of the chosen heroes for Quest 107. "It looks like the hunt will begin again soon, eheh." He waves to Nyx who has taken a seat near Boomingham. He touches the brim of his hat at Skrall and heads over to the bar. "Hello Nyx, it seems we will be questing together again... I look forward to it, eheh. Lawrence, until next time." He says with a small grin, hoping he'd get to quest with the paladin again soon. He looked for Ellaria, but wasn't able to spot her so he departed for a quick stop at the Marketplace.
  15. This is tricky, but I would say in the case of Sleight of Hand with the dual spell/heal weapons, both the confused effect and jinxed effect count only for the target enemy (primary target). The class sheet for Sorceror states that Sleight of Hand affects the target, where Spell and Greater Spell are not specified. Plus the weapons are Dual Spell, not Dual Magic.
  16. Flipz said that a lot better than I could have, with feedback and everything. I didn't follow 95 very well at all. In fact I only checked it every so often just to see how close it was to ending. It just seemed to drag on and on, and in fact I think it's the longest quest to date at over 7 months! And what really happened in those 7 months? Not a whole lot from what I can tell. A lot of the quest seemed pointless or otherwise a drag to me. Lack of player participation was clearly a contributing factor to that, but updates from you seemed to be slow as well. I remember a stretch where the quest would go untouched for a full week or more (or at least that's what it seemed like, I can't say for sure). And frankly I don't blame the players for losing interest. I can't really give you any feedback otherwise, but those were my observations for you to consider.
  17. I have to agree with Doc on this one, but I guess it's too late now. Funny how the player who complains the most about OPness is one of the most OP. Mizuki also has that Foxtail... Not by much fault of his own, but that just adds to the irony.
  18. Well damn, looks like Rogues could use another nerf, huh?
  19. I'd rather not see the item at all, so I think those odds are very fair. It's not like the heroes are forced to give up their gold - it's a completely optional part of the quest.
  20. "And what is it that you hunt, exactly?"
  21. "Is that not what Eubric is? Hehehe, if the Houses and whoever else aiming for power in this city are trying to hide it, they do a very poor job. They say that the third time is the charm, but I never was one for superstition, heh." Hybros finished his tea and inspected the grounds left over. He knew of mages that claimed to be able to discern fate from the bottom of tea cups, but didn't believe in them anymore than superstition. "In a way..." he patted Zoot's Reaper. "I have recently learned the ways of the Chi Monk. They use the power of the elements as well as that of healing. Most of all, they value the power body and mind as one. I did not consider such strength until my training... I have learned much. I have never known that I could control these weapons, the flow of what is called 'ether'. It is... amazing what one can discover..." "Ehehm, and what of you, Skrall? It seems you are skilled with the crossbow, but have you considered further training?"
