Hybros ignored Pretzel's previous comment. The Soul Link Chain's grip loosened around his arm, and it dropped to the ground. He rubbed his arm to soothe the pain. "That is the last time I bond my soul to the likes of you..." he grumbled. Still, the pressure of the battle was over and with the release of the Soul Link also departed some feelings of negativity to Pretzel. It was a strange magic. Hybros looked up at the mirrored ceiling to observe the light patterns, then shook his head, leaving it to the others to solve the puzzle. Such calculations with the behavior of light were not his forte. Instead, he pulled out the Baron's Pauldrons and fitted them onto his shoulders again.

I did [sortKey]=date&cType=topic&cId=84381&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_term=dual+strike&search_app=forums&st=25"]search of the topic and there doesn't seem to be any changes to rules on dual strike. The question is, can a dual strike's secondary attack target be chosen, or does it have to be the next enemy in order? I've had one of the first dual strike weapons created since Q50, and I've always been able to choose my secondary targets. Sandy has run it this way himself (and dropped the item in his quest), and a debate has never arisen since then about the rule. But the FAQ does state "enemy next in order". Personally I don't think what's usually alphabetical order should determine secondary targets, but that's just me.

Joeshmoe bought this up in PM, but like I said to him, I've been using Dual Strike as being able to choose secondary targets since Q50. I'm pretty sure the FAQ is out of date in that regard. Hybros attacks Shade B from the front row twice (double). Melvin does nothing.

Yeah. I think when it was brought up in 98, Sandy said he liked to pair undead with immune to OHKO because it removed a lot of the confusion with items and healing abilities. Phoenix Essence = Instakill on undead unless immune, I'm pretty sure it says so somewhere in the Rules page.

I feel like an "overheal" ability was discussed for the High Cleric... it would definitely be an interesting concept. Also, Sandy mentioned that he liked to pair undead enemies with *Immune to insta-kill" (as do other QMs), which if true, kind of makes the High Cleric's SHIELD roll a little less useful... hmm...

I like the changes so far to both classes. There is one more complication I found with the Scholar, though: what about arc scrolls? On SHIELD rolls will they be cast on every applicable enemy? And I also think the ether cost boost for Dirge of the Phoenix is unnecessary. 20 ether is a lot for 1 health; a Phoenix Incense or Roots of Life can revive everyone at full health with a lot less cost. Comparatively, Lucky Chant only costs 3 ether and a party-wide lucky effect is arguably better than 1 health revival. -
OOC: I'd just like to speed things up a little, so if it's okay I'll state Pala's actions for this round. Pretzel moves to Junction A with Hybros, then heals the inevitable Void Husk from the back row if the Shade is defeated before his turn. If not, he attacks the Shade with the Heavy Flail from the back row. Soryx attacks the Gnome from the from the front row with Vanquisher. Wally repeats.
