Great find, this is very cool. I like how he used the gold hand for Anakin's mechanical arm, and swapped the CW head on the CW Anakin for the Ep. 3 head. I agree with ISC, he could have had a Death Star II vig with Luke and Vader.

For anyone who wants to check their avatar sizes...

Nice work, Bossk! That thing is massive, maybe TLG will consider making an official UCS AT-TE.

Local store, since it the most convenient to me. I've ordered from BL a few times for specific parts, but that costs a lot more. I've never bought from a Lego store, but hopefully over the holidays I will visit one. I never buy from eBay or Amazon, for security reasons. Also, I think this should be in the Lego General News & Discussion forum.

Great find, Mutley! This fig looks great, and a bit like Commander Wolffe. $10 isn't bad, but you could get the whoel battle pack for that much in just 1-2 weeks (which is my estimate on when the new sets will be appearing in stores).

Ah thanks. My original size is 700 something for both height and length, but it's scaled o 100x91... I guess I have to re-size! EDIT: I think this is okay...

Great entry, Infomaniac. Neat ship and fort, and goods use of those whit spike piece for wave crests. I also like the little stream forming on the beach, good use of those trans-blue flames and blades. What could be improved: I think a lot more blood would make this entry better. Also, I think that adding some treasure would look nice somewhere on the ship... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- But superb entry, good luck!

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
"Adam..." said Butcher hopelessly. He knew Adam the Dark Jedi wasn't Adam. "You all came here just to die," replied the Dark Jedi. "And there's no way that you can win. Two of us versus some pathetic civilian reconnaissance group is just about a unfair as it gets". Butcher ignited his lightsaber. He had no choice but to fight them. Suddenly, 'Adam' charged. Jim quickly took out his nail gun and shot at him, but missed. Garviel used his lightning, but it was deflected back at him, and he was burned. Butcher was knocked to the ground. Everyone took put their blasters and shot at Adam and Benquin, but the shots were deflected, and several clones were hit, as well a member or two of the group. Adam spun around and lashed out at Butcher, but he blocked it. The two had engaged in a duel... Boring pics, I know. I used Agent Chases head just this time to fit with Adam's yellow head, but I'm still using Indy's for my character's regular head. -
Hm, I like this new entry, but I liked the other one better. But it's your choice. In this one, I like the waves splashing and wall designs, as well as the pirates itching to get out of their cells. The cannon fire is illustrated differently than in most entries here, but not for the worse. I also like the pirate and soldier fighting in the air. What could be improved: I agree with Erdbeereis1 in that you should remove the black plate beneath the water. I also think that it would be neat if you had a stabbed soldier falling off the building. What would be really cool is some blood falling with that soldier. :pir-skull: Perhaps you can also change the surfboard to a rowboat to better fit the theme... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But otherwise good entry, and good luck!

Thanks for the wonderful review, Ras Al Ghul. This set seems average to me, since it looks really empty and unfinished. Still, I believe this was one of the first set with dark blue pieces in it.
-
Thanks for the info, Justin2224. These sound believable. The Hoth set sounds like an add-on (modular, anyone?) to the 2007 Hoth base. The Endor bunker sounds good, but small. I have to agree with darkrebellion on that Brick Wiki list that it's a fan wish list, especially since it's Wikipedia.

But how can people have those huge avatars if the site automatically rescales them?

I found twp without the answers. They were very small differences, good job!

I agree with the people above- we've had plenty of time, too much, IMO. I just want to finish reviewing people's entries and see the winners.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah, I still think it should be Adam. By the way, JD, I have no idea what you're talking about in your post... This is too easy. Butcher thought, The CIS wouldn't leave their fate to a few weak magnaguards... Unless... "Hehe... say goodbye, Republic scum... *mechanical laugh, coughs*)" said a familiar voice. To everyone's horror, they knew who it was. The magnaguards paused. "You can kill us, Greivous, but you can't escape. We have whole regiments of clones on and above the planet, ready to exterminate you" said Butcher. He was surprised he had the courage to do so. Grievous was nowhere in sight, however. "Hehe, so you think". "You're making a mistake, Grievous," said Oky Wan. "Using the time machine could destroy the whole universe, and everything in it, including you". "Don't be too sure. We've figured out every little detail, and we have certain specimens who can pull off the job, which I'm sure you've already figured out. But it doesn't matter, you're all about to die, and I'll be safely off this planet by the time you are. You scum have only been a thorn in my side for too long, but nothing more. The plans will proceed perfectly, and there's nothing you can do about it". -
Bah! Will we be expecting a full review once you get the real set, CopMike?
-
Thanks, Badger! I am planning on making my first BA order before the holidays, and I'll ask Will for that sweet golden gun. And to those wondering about the gold 3PO, he's still in mint condition, and none of the parts are loose, but I don't think I'll do that again... more Bond figs on the way!

Aw, already? Wow, that was quick! Congrats to the winners!

Finger Bone Island - When pirates get bored of gold
JimBee replied to ProducePrincess's topic in Pirate MOCs
Is that Hinckley in the chest? I'll have that gold coin, please! This is an undeniably cruel entry, with a good amount of dead bodies laying around and blood. Great vegetation and rock formations. I also like the little statue, and great skeleton and regular fig combos, very innovative. What could be improved: It would be neat (relatively speaking) to have a crazy pirate with ripped clothing alone on one corner of the island eating a giant pile of hands. :pir-skull: Also, the white tiles in the water look a bit strange, I think regular plates would do the trick to fix this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That's all I have to say, but I hope you consider some of these suggestions. Good luck! -
Now that it's finished I will offer a complete review of your entry, which is absolutely stunning. Definitely one of my favorites. The cliff is spectacular; the moss and ingenious rock formations make look eerily realistic. The ship is equally amazing, I can't believe how awesome it looks! The skull on thae back, the custom sails, and the sheer architecture of it makes this creation a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It could take me hours to talk about every detail in this, but almost everything is perfect... the beach, the water, the rocks, the cliffs, the vegetation, the islander sage the complex battle on board, the sharks leaping from the water, the kracken... every little detail that you've put into this MOC amazes me. What could be improved: Not much at all, but I think that the splashing water from the sharks and kracken would look better as trans-clear bricks rather than white ones. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations on making such a fantastic entry, Lord King of Everything. Although I doubt you'll need it, I wish you good luck on the contest.

Excellent, Lt. de Martinet. The SNOT [transparent] water has to be the best I've seen this whole competition. The little disturbance in the water (caused by the paddle) is a wonderful detail. The barrel is superb, and the treasure offers a nice vibrant focal point, to take the viewer's eyes away from the pirate, only to later realize that he's there (good use of the chrome lightsaber hilt). The barrel is also nicely done, very unique. What could be improved: To fill up the water more, I'd add a fish, and not a shark, to maintain that suspenseful vibe. To me, a shark would just take that all away and replace it with sheer terror (which isn't a bad thing, but the suspense just makes your entry unique and better, in my opinion). Also, this is a minor point, but if you have the metallic gold treasure chest from the Indy truck chase, I would use that instead of the pearl gold one, as well as the other pearl gold pieces. I just think metallic looks better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But great entry, very cruel and suspenseful. Good luck on placing in the contest!

Great work, Matn! I love the fort wall, very detailed with the sword design on the side. The dock is also very nice, and the transition from water to sand is done beautifully. The town inside the walls is a great addition, and the guy stuck in the well is hilarious. Some other things that I like are the boat with treasure, the pirate and soldier duels, the rock formations, the governor dousing the flames (great use of the blue flame piece), the cottage, and the islanders. What could be improved: I think that it would be neat if you had some trans-white and trans-blue pieces rising up on the rocks to represent waves crashing down. I would also advise you to have more dead and bleeding bodies laying around, and maybe some in the water, getting eaten by sharks. To add even more detail to the water, I would suggest to have a villager or two swimming away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But great entry, anyways, and I hope you take these suggestions into consideration if you decide to improve your entry. Good luck on the contest!

Very nice entry, xpatriot720x. The kracken is amazing, especially the mouth. Good SNOT water, and of course, very cruel. What could be improved: Is that a ship that the pirates are on? If so, I would make it more rounded and concave, instead of just flat like a wall. Also, the plank and floor would look better if they were brown, and even tiled. Perhaps then you could add more details to the side, such as portholes or maybe even seaweed. Additionally, in the barrel, I would replace the cannon ball with treasure, to illustrate the "transaction" taking place. Lastly, perhaps you could have some blue and/or white pieces rising out of the water near the tentacles to show the splashing water as the tentacles rise out of the water. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you improve these things that I (and others) have mentioned, you'll surely have an even better entry. Good luck!

Sounds like fun, I'm up to the challenge.
