Oh, I'm not part of the Pewaukee Road. Sorry if you got confused, this a group that I just saw.

Excellent, I knew this would happen for either October or November. Awesome banner and skin, by the way.

I play the viola (which is a deeper violin with different strings) and a little piano. I hope to take guitar lessons this summer.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, to be honest, you probably won't be able to join for a long time. We have to finish this chapter first, and this might be the last one of season one. There will probably be a large break then. Sorry. -
Great entry, Majek! What I like: The small armory is very cool, and the trail of gunpowder being lit is creative. I also like the palm tree and the stabbed pirate. What could be improved: I don't really like the use of the Avatar heads here. It was a unique decision, but they really take away from the pirate vibe and cruelty. I like this entry a lot, and good luck!

In the Simpsons episode when Homer becomes a tow trucker, the end of the intro (when the family rushes to the couch) shows the family being built out of Lego.

Wonderful entry, Erdbeereis! What I like: Your ship is good, and the red fits in with the brown nicely. I also like your skull rock formation and crabs, which are both very creative. The additions of the wave crests crashing into the shoreline and rocks was done beautifully, as well as the seaweed. The bird in the tree is pretty cool, too. Putting the rocks in the sea was a great way to fill up some empty space, and the blood trail is very cruel (and the stew). What could be improved: Not much, actually. The only part that I don't like is the sails. The paper looks a bit sloppy, but it was a good attempt. But very good entry which has very few flaws, Erdbeereis. Good luck!

I haven't noticed this, but if you're right, perhaps this is further proof of the non-box pics being incorrect (bley hilts instead of chrome or metallic silver, etc.). And please get your grammar right, it's "TDF and I". These things are very offensive to grammar freaks like me. He means: S o l a r S a i l o r.

Which is your favorite Star Wars movie?
JimBee replied to darkrebellion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hmm... tough decision. I would have to say The Phantom Menace, since it was the first one I saw. I also like how Lucas dared to stray away from the traditional style of the OT, and put together a great movie. It had a good plot, and it wasn't all action like ATOC and ROTS. I remember always reenacting the last scenes (reataking Theed palace and Darth Maul duel) as a kid. Plus, Darth Maul is my favorite Sith from the movies (Darth Nihilus being my favorite in EU). Oh, and please save your rants about Jar Jar, I really don't care how much you hate him. I also liked TESB very much. ROTS was good, but it wasn't put together very well. I mean, fist there's the battle over Coruscant (which was cool), but then there is such a llloooonnnngg boring part (Oh, Anakin... ). And then, the rest of the movie is action (but good action, albeit), and then the conclusion that ties up the PT and OT. I always thought that the Order 66 scenes were so sad... EDIT: Yes, please make a poll, DR. -
The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One

Ermm, Death Star? You know that Adam's already gone, on a RGS with the rest of us (not including you and BPac), right? "So we just stride on over there, blast the rubble to smithereens, and just waltz on in?" Bitcher inquired. "I hardly think it's going to be that simple". "Of course it isn't. They've got Anti-Air guns mounted on every corner. We're going to have to think of something else before we go in that way," replied Adam. "Well..." said Oky Wan mysteriously. The group turned to face him. "I could sneak in and deactivate the AA Guns". "Hm, good plan" said Jim. "But you'll have to be extremely cautious. I'm sure you can do it though, just pull a few wires, do your techie stuff and you're in". Oky Wan rolled his eyes. Jim made it sound so simple, but he agreed nonetheless. Hope this okay, Oky Wan. -
I knew someone would do this... What I like: The SNOT base is good, and the tall crow's nest is great with all of the pirates on it. Nice addition of the clothes laying on the floor, too. And of course, very cruel. What could be improved: Perhaps you could add some trans-red plates to the floor to represent blood, which would make a great addition. Other than that, great MOC, Infomaniac, and good luck.

Hello everyone, I would like to share an awesome group of Lego builders in the state of Wisconsin. They are called the Pewaukee Road, and build working motorized trains along with some awesome custom-made scenery. I has the pleasure of viewing their setup at the annual train show in Milwaukee today, and I have to say that it was amazing. The trains were very cool to look at, and the custom models were excellent. Their setup also included official sets such as Market Street and the Eiffel Tower. You can see their site here, and their Brickshelf folder (which has pics from 2007) here. In addition to the things pictured, on the side of the main train attractions were a complete collection of Harry Potter sets, a Batmobile, old Star Wars sets, and a space rocket all made out of Lego. It was quite an impressive display. Thanks for looking!

For a short time, I think it's okay to keep Lego out in the cold, but in the conditions you're talking about, the plastic might break, even TLG's high-quality plastic. I'd keep your minifigs and small pieces inside if you really have to keep your bricks out in the cold.

Congrats, Eilif! It must be quite an accomplishment to finish sorting all of that Lego. Now you should be able to build MOCs lightning fast, so let's see 'em! I will post my sorted Lego here when I finish.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Funny reference, Oky Wan, but I believe it's called a "supplement cooling storage unit" in Star Wars terms. And really guys, I agree with Oky Wan, try and stay within the "story guidelines", as I've mentioned time and time again. Thanks. Jim got out of the cooling unit. He was a little scrambled up from being tossed around, but otherwise unhurt. He checked that Oky Wan and Thok were in the same condition. After getting up, the three saw Adam, Garviel, a man that they had never met before, and a few clones standing in front of them. "Hello, I'm Pr0," introduced the stranger. Jim looked him over. He was young, but seemed like a well-trained soldier. He nodded in response. "Listen, guys, time's running out, we need to stop that time machine. The first mutants have probably already been sent into the past, since the CIS want to get this done ASAP," said Butcher. "We should resume the normal plan, although it's going to be even harder than we anticipated before. Since the battle in space and here on the planet, the CIS bunker has probably increased their security ten-fold". "How worse can this get?!" asked Thok. "Oh, it just got a lot worse," replied Pr0 as he looked to the distance. The rest of the group turned around and saw a whole new attack force heading towards them. At least it wasn't as big as before. "We're going to need a lot of help on this one..." said Butcher, almost to himself. "Don't worry, I got reinforcements," said Bob almost comically as he emerged from the bunker. -
Oh, very cruel! What I like: The pirate that ate a person alive certainly shows cruelty! Nice job on both the palm tree and the blood. What could be improved: I think you could add a little something in the water to add some detail, like a shark, perhaps. But it is a very cruel entry, Fat Tony, and good luck!

Hm, those don't sound half-bad, but I'll have to agree with the many other people that say that the ship is too expensive. I may have to pass on that one and Bricklink the figs.
-
Thanks for the links, JimboJones. Unfortunately, I've noticed a couple of things on the pics: - The AAT comes with a good amount of figs: 3 SBDs with rocket arms, 2 battle droids, a clone trooper (with a long blaster rifle), and a cool Yoda. The only problem is that the battle droids arms aren't the twisted kind, and Yoda's lightsaber looks bley instead of pearl silver. Hopefully these are just mistakes, and the boxart shows the real thing. -In the TIE Advanced, Vader's new torso design is cool, but it looks like his lightsaber got demoted to bley or metallic silver rather than chrome. EDIT: I take it back about the lightsabers, Yoda's still looks pearl silver. However, on the box art of the TIE Advanced, it's hard to tell whether Vader is holding a chrome or pearl silver lightsaber hilt, but in the non-box pic, it looks pearl silver. Hopefully it isn't.

Are you a big or little picture person
JimBee replied to I Scream Clone's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When building a set, I just do the step-by-step instructions, so little picture I guess for that. When MOCing, I map out the overall scheme in my head (sometimes I draw it out on paper), and then start the basic structures. After I have all of that done, I add on little by little whenever I think of something, so both little and big picture on that. Good topic idea, by the way. -
LEGO Licensed Themes MOC and Review Index Discussion Thread
JimBee replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hello, could my two Indy reviews be indexed, please? River Chase Race for the Stolen Treasure Thank you. -
Set name: 7625 River Chase Number of pieces: 234 Number of minifigs: 4 Price: 19.99 USD/ 17.99 GBP/ 25.99 EUR Theme: Indiana Jones/ Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Year Released: 2008 Brickset Folder Bricklink Catalog Welcome everyone to my review on the Indiana Jones set River Chase, which is based off of the new movie Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. NOTE: Most of the stickers included in this set were not used. So, let's begin. The box The box is similar to all of the other Indiana Jones sets. On the top is the famous Jones writing, with a whip and a picture of Indy himself. 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' is written on the bottom. The back is pretty generic; it shows the play features of the set. Now, on to the set itself. Amphibious vehicle This is definitely the main feature of this set. It is the vehicle from the movie that Indy and the gang ride the waterfalls with, and can be either a boat or a jeep. It has a pretty sleek design, and is very well-built. Front view Here you can see the headlights, a mounted gun with firing clip, and the utility cable holder. The front is a little big, but the numerous items that it carries hide this. The windshield design, unfortunately, is a sticker. Back view The back also holds a lot, including a spare tire and an oil canister. You can also see the rear lights and propeller for boat mode. Also note the sub-machine gun and shovel near the middle, held on by clips. You could also use the back to hold some troops. Middle The middle can hold about 4-5 minifigures, maybe more if you cramp them together. The front seats can hold two figs, but they would not stay in properly due to the width being only 4 inches (the rest of the space of the 6-stud wide jeep is taken up by the doors) and the figs' arms getting in each others way. Note that the dashboard is a printed 1x4 tile. Side view Here you can get a better look at the oil can. the little design is in fact a sticker, and a revolver is used for the handle, which is a little weird. I'm sure that TLG could have used a better piece for that. However, the can is mounted on a brown "jumper" piece, which is very useful to me. Lego's reason for doing this, I'll never know, since they could have used a regular 1x2 plate. Motorboat Next up is the motorboat, the main reason why this set is so cheap. The main boat is just one big <insert that tiresome argument> piece, and the overall vehicle is very small, but is actually a big part of the set. This also has a mounted machine gun, but this time with a light attached. Rear Here are a lot of neat things, including a pair of oars, another oil canister, a steering mechanism (which doesn't actually steer the boat if you were to zoom it around), and the engine and propeller. Rear- alternate Here is the other side of the engine, which shows you the rudder. Just a small detail, but it's the details in this set that make it so good. Tree outpost Here is the final part of the set, a tree serving as a scout outpost. The sentry posted up here is equipped with a pair of binoculars, a coffee mug, a backpack, and yet another mounted machine gun. Note the snakes, one hiding in the tree and one on the ground, as well as the dark green alligator, another recruit to add to your gator army. Close-up Camouflage Note this part of the tree. It can either stay up like this for camouflage... Ladder ...or come down like this for a ladder so the guard can get up and down from his post. Back view Here's the back of the tree. Behind a <insert that tiresome argument> rock pieces hides a supply container, sadly with nothing in it. Also note the little knob you see sticking out. Net mechanism That little knob in back pushes out the head behind the net, and pushes it off of the brown bars, creating a clever and effective trap. It works really well, and will have you playing with this set for a while. Minfigs Here are all four figs included in this set. We get two Russians (Bruce Wayne and Draco Malfoy in disguise! Really, I'm getting sick of that Wayne head), Marion Ravenwood (This time around with a different outfit, plus a reversible head with one side scared and the other neutral), and of course, the run-of-the-mill Indy (this time without a revolver). Animals Here are the three animals that come with the set: two red snakes and a dark green alligator, and also the oil canister, for another look. Well, that's about it for the review, here is the... Final Verdict: Build: 10/10, a very fun and easy build, should take the average builder about 30 minutes. Playability: 9.5/10, lots of play features in this one, but I feel as though something is needed on one of the vehicles to complete the set. Perhaps a tow cable on the amphibian vehicle? Swooshability: 9/10, the vehicles roll around just fine, although a couple of smooth, rounded plates on the bottom of the motorboat would be nice. Minifigs:7.5/10, a good amount for a $20 set, but a Prof. Ox and/or Mutt and even a Spalko minifigure(s) would go to making this set better even further. Design: 9.5/10, very clever building techniques in here. The amount of details in this set is amazing. Price: 10/10, definitely. I compare this set to 'Race or the Stolen Treasure', and to me, the Amphibious vehicle is the equal of the cargo truck, the boat is the equal (almost) to the gunner truck, and this set comes with a tree outpost with tons of foliage and a great amount of accessories, and it's $10 cheaper! Truly amazing. Overall score: 9.25/10, a really great set for such a low price. As I was building it, I found a lot of little things about this set that I didn't spot before, such as the sub-machine gun, supplies crate, and many other things that brought me joy. I just wish that there was a little something in the supplies crate. This is one of the best Lego sets compared to it's price, ever, in my opinion, and if you decide to get it, I guarantee that you won't be dissapointed. That's all I have to say for this review, you may leave feedback and constructive criticism if you wish, and of course, your opinion of the set.

My Over 50 Mini Star Wars creation
JimBee replied to CREATION K.O creation's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a very impressive collection you have there, Creation K.O. My favorites out of the bunch are the Imperial Shuttle, Republic Cruiser, Obi's Bark Blue JSF, LAAT carrying AT-TE (very creative), AT-AT, and the Haifire. Now I'm really hooked on those Mini's! -
Can these be bought in the stores themselves, or just online? If I can get them in stores, I'd be happy to send a few out to anyone outside the U.S.
-
Nice entry, Wouwie. What I like: The fire blowing into the tree is very nicely done. I also like the soldier hiding behind the little bushes. The pirate cove behind the rocks was a neat idea, too, and very cruel to chain up a pirate,. What could be improved: I'm afraid that I don't see any cruelty from the pirates, only the islanders. I would try to incorporate this along with some blood to fit the theme of the contest (although blood isn't required). Other than that, you had some good building techniques, and good luck!

This is fantastic news, thanks, SirDano! I'll be sure to pick some of these up ASAP.
