Well, if you like them, that's all that really counts but what I mean is that on the bottom of the feet, you could put grey dishes on there, and the put the slopes that act as the "toes" on the dishes. For a better understanding... Take a dishes, like the red circle points out, and put them on the bottom of the feet, like the blue arrow points out. Then put the "toes" on the bottom of the dishes, which are circled by green. Again, this is just a suggestion, and your feet are already looking good.

And not that they aren't. I just liked the uniqueness of every ship from the earlier years. The main thing that bothers me is that the style keeps changing, not only with the clones (Ep. 2 to CW to Ep. 3 tp OT....), but with the ships too. Ah, well, they all look good on display, which is a big factor for buying/ liking for me. Even so, hopefully we'll see some old SW vehicles/ locations in the future (Gungan sub, Home One, Geonosis Arena, etc.).

Whether or not the "rumor" about 10,000 chrome Vaders in Canada/US is true or not, I won't have trouble believing it since the same thing with the gold C-3PO happened last year. That would be really great, but hopefully this time TLG will provide some to other countries as well. Chrome, ON!

Wow, what a great idea! Thanks to the prize-providers and Sinner for organizing! Congrats to the winners so far, too.

I've experienced server timeouts quite a lot lately... hopefully this problem with be solved soon. Thanks to the staff for their hard work on this.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Jim saw Adam, Thok, and Pr0 all jump through the time portal just as it closed. Now with Butcher being the only one with a lightsaber, the fight was almost hopeless. The droids were becoming more and more numerous, and the clones becoming less. Things got even worse when Grievous slashed out with his blades and let loose four mutants. "That's it! Everyone clear a path through the droids and retreat!" yelled Jim. "Rex, set some charges, I'll cover you. Everyone else, get those droids out of the way!". Rex started planting charges around him as Butcher stood in front of him, blocking shots. Quite a few hit him, some in the armor, some not. After about five minutes, a path between the battle droids was cleared, and the remaining clones and group sprinted out, with Grievous hot on their tail. Butcher was the last one out, before someone shot the controls on the door as it slammed shut on the droids. Unfortunately, Jim felt a searing pain in his heel as he looked back. Grevious had slashed him, and it was pretty deep, too. Jim started limping after his teammates they headed forward, but quickly turned left because a squad of magnaguards eas blocking that hallway, and now turned in hot pursuit. Garviel came running after the group, and shot down a few magnaguards. They rushed for the exit, killing as many droids as possible on the way... -
Thanks for the comparison pics, Erdbeereis1. I agree that new version looks tons better.

Looks awesome so far, Ras. As for suggestions... the feet seem a tad boxy, perhaps add dishes to the bottom to give a smooth look?

Oh, thanks, but I'm sure that I saw them at TRU (of all places...) for 40 USD. Must have been a mistake.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!! How badly I wanted a chrome hilt in this set... About the CIS vs. TF colors, I really prefer the TF brown over the CIS blue-white color scheme, but I guess that's just the Clone Wars style.
-
Thanks for the great review, Ras! I'm really looking forward to this one, especially with the new DV (and hopefully in the future, a chrome DV promo in moire countries). This looks really good, but I am somehow disappointed after seeing some close-ups. The back seems very plain, especially with those ridiculous <insert that tiresome argument> curve-slope pieces. I think this could be a lot better if the designers had some more effort into it instead of focusing only on the new CW sets... some greebling would suffice, but that's nothing that some modding won't fix. Another disappointing factor is that the lightsaber hilt is not chrome, even though this is an anniversary set... The metallic silver is a good substitute for bley, but I still think that chrome hilts should be included in special sets such as this.
-
Wow, this is great! Hopefully they'll be included in many countries, including US, sort of like the gold 3PO, but less rare, maybe 1 million? It would be really great if the polybag was included in every new TIE Advanced set, but that's doubtful. Thanks for sharing, Ras, and I'm looking forward to more info, CopMike!

[Comic] Star Wars Comics official thread
JimBee replied to Trudop561's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Eh, that was bad... short and stupid, although there were a few funny points, like the Yoda watch. Hopefully they'll continue making these for a while yet, because the "The End...?" part made it sound like the last one was coming up next... -
I see what you mean by the color thing. When comparing the V-19 to the RGS, I came to realize that the Republic ships are so... how to put this... uniform. Not that the sets themselves are cool, but having the armies be uniform in design and color kind of takes away from that unique Star Wars style. In the six SW films, there were many unique ships that really awed the audience. In CW, it was kind of modern-ified and unified into similar designs and colors, although I like the CIS sets' colors/ designs. However, I think that this is a very, very minor flaw, and these things haven't made the new sets any worse. In conclusion, I think that we shouldn't bicker about every little thing, and be grateful for TLG's hard work on these awesome sets.

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Has anyone noticed that the junk dealer that was killed by Grievous in Episode 8 was in Ziro the Hutt's bar in the movie? Interesting... just like in TESB when one of the Bounty Hunters was also imprisoned on the Jawa sandcrawler in ANH... Cameo Appearances, ON! -
The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright, I don't care if Magnaguards have organs or not... this isn't the place to discuss that. Just try to make mature and meaningful posts, like this: When this chapter (and most likely this season) ends, there are going to be major rule changes and add-ons before we start again. Read the rules and community guidelines again, and continue playing the game in a mature manner (yeah, okay, you can be funny at times, but you know what I mean). -
Best of luck to all! Although I didn't have much time to do as much "Creative Criticizing" as I would have liked to do, it was still fun to look at all of the wonderful entries. It's been a long (but fun) contest, and it's exciting to wait for the polls to open (or winners be announced).

The answer to your question is no; the lightsaber hilts were the same shape as all of the other ones produced. The picture may have been preliminary or edited.

I too got the ISD for Black Friday, but I haven't noticed that the astromech head is different... could you please post a comparison pic? I also noticed that the ST heads were blank flesh... and that Darth Vader's head was the new kind.

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright, enough useless posts. I agree with Oky Wan that we should get back on topic. JD, please start making your posts worth the read, they're currently not making any sense at all (either they're too short or they come unexplained). We're going to just ignore that post for now, and start over from the part when the dark-haired drak Jedi dies. Sorry if I'm being harsh, but it's necessary to get back to the game. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone. Also, I'll update the first post. JD, go ahead and post. -

You just couldn't resist, could you... But seriously, if you don't like the game, why bother posting in it? Related to the game, I tried to give those pics some photoshopping, but it didn't turn out. Check that post for the boring pics... also, I thought the dark Jedi was Benqin... but apparently Adam's "dark Jedi" came out of him... somehow... and died... and came back to life... somehow... -
Hehe, very nice entry, pickle Phred. Great story, and cool ship.
-
It looks a lot better, Kirk! However, I suggest that you put some white paper down for a nice, clean backdrop, because your pics have distractions in the background, like an ashtray or the bag with the minifig heads.

Looks good so far, Lego Parrot. I really like the skeletons on the halberds, very spooky. I also like the cruelty here, especially with that skeleton on the stairs. What could be improved: I think you should add some trans-clear plates to the pot, and perhaps some vegetables to better illustrate the concept that the person is going to be cooked. I also suggest adding tiling and/ or trans-clear plates to the water beneath the "dock". I would also consider removing that BURP, and replacing it with smaller bricks so you have some room to add water to that area. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully you'll take these suggestions into mind before the contest ends. Good luck!

Well, it is a Technic set...
