  1. I just finished OoT, and I have to say that it's probably the best. The dungeons and exploration sequences (especially obtaining Biggoron's sword) were so much fun, and the last battle was epic (but so easy). Now I'm starting the WW again (like you, def, I never got around to finishing it when I started). I had it in my mind that this game was so good, and it is, but now after playing OoT, it just feels so unfamiliar. The graphics are so... different, and so is the whole premise. I'll have a hard time comparing it to OoC again. One thing I wish would've carried over to other games from WW, though, is the Rito race (bird people). There's Gorons and Zoras in most games, but I feel the Rito would fill a gap. Same with the Koroki from OoC and MM. On another note, I'm kind of reluctant to play Majora's Mask. From what I've heard, there's a 3-day repetition period, and no matter where you are in the game, once the three days are up, you start at the beginning again. Wouldn't that suck to get to the end of a really hard temple, ready to fight the boss after so much effort, just to have to start over? I can't wait to move on to TP, though. I felt that it mirrored OoT in many ways, but added a lot of things, too. I never finished this one, either (got to the second-to-last temple).
  2. FBTB's Flickr has many more pictures from Toy Fair: Hogwarts Hogwarts Express The Burrow Hagrid's Hut Quittich Lesson (No Dobby's Release). I'm not too excited for these, personally. The train and hut look pretty mediocre to me in design, and the others are pretty expensive. I do really like Hogwarts Castle, though, especially the figures (Filches' torso!). Bellatrix and the new McGonagall are also pretty sweet.
  3. (Thanks to FBTB) Our first good close-up of Aayla, and I have to say, this is one amazing fig. The headpiece is just perfect, and I'm just going to brasso the whites of the eyes off so the fig looks somewhat normal. Not to mention the set comes with a bunch of other great figs. A must buy! On the other hand... Oh boy... This looks exactly like something Megablox would make. I'll pass.
  4. Here are the deeplinks: Is this yellow, or a different color?: New alien: I like how slick this one looks: Overall, I think I'm liking this wave better than the first. More focus on the aliens than the police.
  5. I saw it today as well, and I will say that it was pretty awesome. It certainly lived up to my expectations, being very dark and gory. That kind of style [in movies] really fits me well. The story was well-written in most parts (agreed that the ending could have been better), but what I liked most was the characters. First off, Hugo Weaving did a spectacular job at playing his part (as always). He's definitely my favorite actor of all time. Then, Lawrence and his father were both great characters who's backgrounds were emphasized on by the writers. Just a tip for anyone planning to see it- it's extremely gory, so don't go if you're easily scared by blood and guts. There was one person in particular that brought her two little kids, and was pouting constantly... I'll have to see the original version from the 40s. I actually enjoyed it. While I agree that the ending was disappointing, the movie is following what really did happen historically. The fight/ case scenes were pretty good, but I especially liked the rivalry between the main detective (Christian Bale) and John Dillinger (Johnny Depp). It was something that really added to the excitement. The only thing I really didn't like about it was Bale. His acting wasn't so bad in this one, but the accent was terrible. I could see (hear) right through it. I also saw Surrogates. I'll just say that this was the first time I've seen a Bruce Willis film (besides Ocean's 12, but that doesn't count), and I wasn't disappointed by that. The story had so much potential, but it just wasn't pulled off. I hope someday this idea will be revisited, because it has a lot of potential, IMO.
  6. I wouldn't recommend it. I remember when I used to have fish, all of the rocks and sides of the tank would be covered with algae. I'm willing to bet the case will be the same with Lego. I'm not sure the water will damage them, but all of the germs, plants, and frog crap will. We do use centimeters, too, you know. It's just meters and kilometers that we don't use as far as measurement goes (for distance).
  7. I voted "about half". I mostly have Star Wars, but I also have an Indy collection almost the same size (but now that it's gone, SW will soon be the primary theme on my shelves). I also get an odd Atlantis, Power Miners, or SPIII set here and there (usually the small, gimmicky ones), so a few of those litter my floor. Any Pirate sets I get/ have gotten complement my Castle Siege and Medieval Market Village, and any City sets get scrapped for the figs. I'll probably be sucked in to buying all of the PoP sets, too... So basically, about 40% SW, 30% Indy, and 30% odds and ends of other themes.
  8. Yes, that was it. Sooo stupid. @def. That's hilarious. What a slap in the face for Billy Zane. Did anyone say Catwoman yet? That one was pretty terrible...
  9. Nice collection, Sok, thanks for sharing. I like all of the little bits that replicate the more memorable scenes from the movies- especially the added elephant, sword fight on the "duck", and Indy hanging on the front of the cargo truck. It's also great to see that someone else enjoys watching Dovenchiko getting devoured by ants over and over again.
  10. Really? I honestly didn't notice the "bad" acting until you mentioned it. I just thought the characters were supposed to be awkward... but now that you do point that out... yes, the acting was terrible. Another movie I wish I could unsee... hmm, I don't remember the name of it, but I do remember it having a purple tight-wearing Indy-wannabe superhero that went around collecting three skulls (Jade, Gold, and Crystal, I think). This was quite a while ago, but I do remember it being pretty stupid. The whole plot was just ridiculous. I also wish I'd never have watched a single horror movie. Every single one is the same thing, just with different horrors, so I really don't understand why they're made at all and why anyone would watch them. I admit that a select few are good, but those are usually not the typical B horror films.
  11. This one just blew me away! IMO, this is the best shot of yours so far. Simply amazing.
  12. Happy birthday, Quarryman! Watch out for infectious wieners in your cake!
  13. I've always wanted to see all five together. While I wish I would've started collecting these before the earlier ones started to disappear, I don't think I have the room or cash for these. Thanks for sharing, do you mind if I use one as my desktop?
  14. Then send Round 1 actions now, please. (This will probably be the last one for me tonight). Round 1 Kike vs. Squidsaber Shield-0/ Parry-0 Kick-0/ Push-0 Parry-0/ Low-0 Mid-0/ Throw-1 Parry-0/ Parry-0 Health: 4/ Health: 5 It appears the rematch is having the same results as the duel before, with minimal damage in the first round. Will Kike be able to make this duel different? Round 2 Kike vs. Squidsaber Parry-0/ Throw-0 Low-0/ High-1 Kick-0/ Push-0 Mid-0/ Parry-0 Shield-0/ Mid-0 Health:3/ Health:5 Again, the round repeats from the last duel. What could happen? Round 2 Kike vs. Squidsaber High-0/ Throw-1 Kick-0/ Push-0 Low-0/ Parry-0 Shield-0/ Mid-0 Parry-0/ Low-0 Health: 2/ Health:5 Kike manages to defend himself for the most part, but it's not enough! Squidsaber wins again! Congrats again, CallMePie, and better luck next time, brickme. Feel free to update profiles.
  15. Round 1 Kike Argetlam vs. Squidsaber High-0/ Mid-1 High-0/ Parry-0 Parry-0/ High-0 Low-0/ Parry-0 Shield-0/ Throw-0 Health: 4/ Health: 5 Squidsaber begins with a single strike, but the duel continues without another hit. Who out of the two Jedi Initiates will emerge victorious? Round 2, please. Round 2 Kike vs. Squidsaber Mid-0/ Mid-0 Kick-0/ High-1 Low-0/ Parry-0 Parry-0/ Throw-0 Shield-0/ Low-0 Health: 3/ Health:5 Kike takes another hit, but the fighters seem to have an understanding of each others' moves. Can Kike score, or will Squidsaber dominate? Round 3, please. Round 3 Kike vs. Squidsaber Shield-0/ Throw-0 Kick-0/ Low-1 Parry-0/ Parry-0 High-0/ Mid-1 Low-0/ High-1 Health: 0/ Health:5 And Kike is struck down by Squidsaber's masterful skills with the lightsbaber. He emerges without a scratch and a wide grin on his alien face. Congrats, CallMePie, that was some skillful dueling. Better luck next time, brickme, you must've gotten the worst luck in this one. Remember to update profiles. If you guys want a rematch, just let me know.
  16. I have one of those black hats without the logo. I was curious about that too, but they are most definitely real Lego. You can usually tell by just looking at the piece to see if it is good quality (not transparent, un-sharp edges, etc.).
  17. Cool, I'll be an adjudicator. This will work out great, I think, because people are usually short of an adjudicator, and by the time they find one, one or more leaves.
  18. I'll duel. How about it, CallMePie?
  19. Since the pictures in the first post are down, here are a few official pictures thanks to Toysn'Bricks' Flickr. Sorry if these have been seen before, but at least the pics in the first post can be fixed.
  20. Happy birthday, Svelte! Sorry that you cut your lip on your day. But eating ice cream will help sooth it. It schmelts in your mouth!
  21. Happy Birthday, have a good one, Scouts.
  22. Happy birthday, Mutely! Congrats on the intake, I really don't want to see you're collection now to prevent floors coated in drool.
  23. I'm American, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Here's a list of the countries and places I've been to: - Germany (Munich) twice - Austria (Villach, Slazburg) twice - Italy (Cinqua Terra, Venice, Tuscany; Sienna) twice - Slovenia twice -USA: - Illinois (Chicago, Schaumburg, Northwestern area) many times - Florida (Orlando, Miami, Key West, other southern areas) four or five times, I think. - California (San Diego, San Fransisco) twice - Nevada - New Mexico - Oregon - Utah - Arizona - Kansas - Nebraska - Iowa - Michigan ...not counting connecting flights. In June I can also add Southeatern Canada and some east coast States.
  24. Happy birthday, Oky! Have a great day, and I hope you receive many Toy Story and SW sets (if you haven't gotten them all already ).
  25. These look even better than the first wave! My favorite so far would have to be the Vampire, for several reasons. The cape is nice, for one, but more importantly, while I was hoping for the old pointy vampire hair, this black Dooku hair is much better. I've been waiting for one of these since I tried to make a Jin figure from LOST...
