  1. Thanks for another spectacular review, Pandora. Personally I don't care for the set nor the theme, but the pieces here are extremely useful. Maybe not the dark pink accessories and such, but there's plenty of tan (one of the most useful colors, I've learned), and many other rare-ish colors to spruce things up a bit in MOCing. I'm sure someone will be able to build a lavender and medium blue starship, but things like the 1x6 tiles can be used for simpler things, like tiling a room of a house. It's just great that we're getting so many versatile pieces in different colors.
  2. Well, that's the last of them. Here are my final thoughts (well, I'll have more to say later but for now...) Overall, I had a blast hosting Quest 29. Doing the tri-pronged Dastan quest was really something unique, and I'm glad we could pull it off. Thank you so much Doc and Zeph, you guys were awesome. I couldn't ask for a better team, and you two really helped me keep things going during the quest, when I thought I was going to lose my head among all the confusion. And thank you players for embarking on this four-month long quest. I hope it was as much of an experience for you as it was for me. I know you guys were confused as hell for some parts, and sometimes so was I. But I thank you all for sticking with it until the end. Nerwen/Chromeknight: You were absolutely fantastic. Nerwen really showed more of her true colors in the quest, not only at the end but all throughout. I loved it when you had her help out random citizens of Dastan, rather than, for example, steal a drunkard's coinpurse or call the guards on the dockworker. There were a lot of other times of great roleplaying too, but I couldn't mention them all now. And I said this to you already, but again, great work with Denerii. You created a character I never could have as an NPC. Well done, I look forward to seeing Nerwen in future quests. Galen/Fugazi: I was thrilled to have a returning Q0 player in my quest. And you did great, too. Roleplaying Galen's failures in battle was really interesting to read. I also loved your interaction with Cronk and Nyx, in particular. I hope you're here in Heroica to stay! De'kra/Tanma: I know you were really confused at times, and I apologize for that. But you did great with what you did understand, and you stuck with it. Some of De'kra's roleplaying moments were a bit weird (i.e. I didn't understand them, it seemed like they related to a Bionicle story), but when you and Arthur met at Fort Drakon I was excited to see what would happen. You two didn't disappoint. An extended roleplay session was kind of what we were looking for when the quests met for the first time (met, not overlapped). Thank you for playing! Sarick/Xarrzan: I'm glad I made you party leader. I felt that you hadn't really had a chance in Quest 21 since it was cancelled after a week or two, so I wanted you to have another try. You were active and I felt that you divided loot equally, so that was good. I kind of wish you had roleplayed a little more, though. Since Quest 13 I felt that Sarick's character has much potential, but unfortunately I didn't really notice any substantial changes in the naga. The end was interesting, when he tried to decapitate Roland, but I felt it was sort of out of the blue. I had expected you to return Dragon's Heart to Galen after that, but I kind of forgot the roleplaying after the Constance battle, and why he would not want it (still not sure what's going on with that). I hope we see some of this decision's effects on Sarick in the future. Again, I wish you would've been a little more "into" the game, especially during the final battle and with Flavius, but you were plenty active. Thanks for playing! Cronk/CorneliusMurdock: I think I got exactly what I expected with Cronk in this quest. Cronk is kind of a quiet and simple guy, but in important moments, like deciding Roland's fate, his true virtue shines through. I suppose I would've liked to see some more interaction with other characters, but I know you had some major life experiences during this quest. Being "gone with the wind" and your newborn child. Despite all this, you manages to stay active at all times, which I really, really appreciate. Thanks for playing! Xander/posades: Xander definitely reminds me of Docken. Quiet, but focused on the task at hand. And never forgetting loot and XP. I appreciate your efforts in staying active, and I hope to see you in more quests. Not much else to say I'm afraid, but you were great. I'm sure I'm missing things, about the quest itself, but any comments, questions, or confusions you guys want to mention (includes bystanders and other Dastan questies, too!) will spark my memory. Also, I appreciate any feedback you care to give. I know there was railroading and a lot of confusion, but let's hear it!

You have all been a great help to our kingdom, and if Dastan ever needs help again, we will know who to turn to. Farewell!" Niko walks off, and the Rito wave goodbye as they take to the skies once more. The heroes found carriages waiting for them, which took them to the coast, and finally sailed off into the horizon. They looked back at Dastan shrinking in the distance, wondering if they would ever return. But for now, other adventures awaited them back at Heroica. The quest was a success!
  4. Hybros nods at Guts. "Well done. Now let us finish this quickly..." Hybros carefully dons his Golden Armor again, then attacks Uma from the front row.
  5. Originally, yes, but it was a copy/paste error (mine this time, not Zeph's ). I noticed this after a few rounds and removed it. As much as I would've liked Nerwen to receive one, I couldn't simply hand out another powerful unique weapon.
  6. "Actions cannot go unpunished. I agree, while his cause might have been noble, his methods weren't. In his efforts he left a wake of carnage, and that is simply not the way we do things in a civilized nation. It seems that the consensus is to banish Roland from Dastan. A reasonable and well thought-out solution, heroes. With the Rito at our side and the rebellion crushed, I don't think he will be a threat. We shall send an escort with him to the borders of the Babeleth Darklands." "Very well heroes. Farewell... for now." He gave off a small chuckle. Dastanian troops entered the room to arrest him. Suddenly, Sarick tried to lift Dragon's Heart to cut off Roland's head. However, unused to the weight of a sword, the mage struggled long enough for Galen to react, throwing his bedroll to knock the naga over. Dragon's Heart fell to the floor with a loud clang. "I'm afraid I cannot let you do that. Though I gave the choice to you, you cannot simply become an executioner. If you wanted to have him killed you should have left it to us to deal with. But the majority of you wish to see him exiled, and I think that is a wise choice. Dastan has witnessed enough death today, we must be righteous." Roland gave Sarick a knowing look, then turned to exit with the soldiers. "And now heroes, we have other matters to attend to. Please, follow me." The party followed Nikolai out of the palace. Soldiers and clerics bustled about, tending to the wounded and cleaning up the bodies that littered the streets. Blood and feathers covered the ground, but neither the Rito nor the Rogue Lion Knights were anywhere to be seen. Large silhouettes could be seen flying in the sky, circling a nearby mountain and above the palace. Dragons! "Vipera tells me that his ancient species has returned. We have proven to the dragons that perhaps their time, and ours, is long from over. The Dragon Knights will rule the skies once again, and no rebellion will be brave enough to face us." Two soldiers carrying a chest hurried up the road. Nikolai opened it, holding six sacks of 200 gold. "Your reward, the same amount promised to you by Emeraldo, I believe. For all your efforts, fighting the rebellion and rooting out this traitor. We would like to give you more, but our finances will be tight in the coming seasons, rebuilding. I hope you can understand that. We are forever in your debt, heroes. Good luck on your future travels." Nikolai, Denerii, and Flavius stood, ready to bid farewell. Are the heroes ready to depart?
  7. There's only one person I know who knows how to do anything like that, and he hasn't been near my computer in at least a year. I'm almost positive that no one is just screwing with me. Yes, yes, and yes. Wait. I had some problems similar to this when opening Facebook a few months ago, except instead of redirecting me to another website, I just got a "Page not found" error. Other than that the same things happened, where I wouldn't be able to access the website for a few hours (even if I tried everything that I've tried with this), and then the problem would go away. It happened once in a while, like this problem, so eventually I looked it up on Google. It took me a while to find it, but one solution was to type Facebook's web URL, plus some other script, in my hosts file. It worked. I could try doing that for Flickr, but I don't know how to write it. Any suggestions?
  8. Roland listened to each of the heroes speak, grinning wickedly as he did so. He obviously did not agree with what they were saying, but did not argue further. He only spoke when Nerwen asked questions. "The assassins were a mere tool to remove certain obstacles from our goal. Their leader was that Lady Wren, and though I never met her or planned anything with her, I knew she had ulterior motives. The U'Kin? A minority species in Dastan, also fighting for their freedom. They were divided, one leader named U'Stus tried to solve things nonviolently, and another, U'Vires, who you met in the palace did things a little more forcefully. U'Stus was unsuccessful in gaining freedom for his people, and now he is dead." QM Note: Just waiting on Xarrzan, then we can wrap things up.
  9. Never! I'm pretty sure there's no one messing with me, no one is ever around my computer. The only plug-ins I have are flash players and security systems, and I don't even have an account on Lego.com... I rarely visit the site, actually. But I have rebooted, cleared the cache, etc. and the problem is still there. Like I said, though, it only lasts a few hours before returning to normal by itself.
  10. Please please please let me play! I missed Excalibur and Forest 1 because of some stupid summer trips (real life and mafia, I know, need to get my priorities straight), so... I wanna play. 1. What is your favorite FABULAND set? 3630 2. What is your favorite EB Mafia moment? Wasn't this a question already? I've said it before and I'll say it again: when Zepher duped Shadows and Hinck in MCII. 3. What is your favorite acronym? NIIOMTPLABOPARMBETZHELBETRABSBOMONIMONKONOTDTEKHSTROMONT Mafia related, PGO.
  11. Hybros picks out the remaining enemy, Sig, to attack from the front row.
  12. Hey everyone, I've been having problems opening my Flickr recently, a very strange problem, actually, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing. Occasionally, I click on my bookmarked icon of Flickr (I have my photostream favorited, and that's where I host all of my Lego-related pictures), and strangely enough it will redirect me to Lego.com, to a page that says "Sorry, this page cannot be found." As far as I know, Lego and Flickr don't have any association with each other, so the only link is the obvious one, and that's me uploading pictures of Lego. How my web browser knows to do this, I don't know, but it creeps me out. Furthermore, I check isup.me (an external site that checks if a website is down or if it's just your connection), but when I type in Flickr.com it says that it is up. When I click on the link, it takes me the Lego.com homepage (not the "Page cannot be found" one from before). Additionally, I refresh my connection, close and reopen the browser (Chrome), and restart my computer. The problem persists when I change to Firefox, but I have not checked if the same thing happens on another computer (mainly because I don't have access to one). None of the ones that I did try, however, do not change anything. I also try other direct links to Flickr, including Google searches and other people's photostreams (from here and TBB). The problem goes away in a few hours, but maybe once every month this happens. The Flickr staff don't seem to know anything about it / can't help, so I am wondering if any of my fellow FOLs have had a similar problem. Or better yet, if anyone can think of why this would happen in the first place. I have a 2004 Dell computer running Windows XP and using Google Chrome.
  13. Another one's soul reaped... he was getting good at this. Thirsty for more, Hybrso repeats his attack.
  14. "Not concerned about my reasons? I am disappointed in you, noble paladin. You wish to simply dismiss anyone who disagrees with you? You don't want to hear what they have to say? That's too bad, because your going to hear it anyway. Still, I cannot believe you call yourself a hero. Executioner would be more fitting." He stood and turned to De'kra and Sarick. "Yes, why. For many reasons, some you may never be able to comprehend. Now listen up, all of you, for this will go down in history." "I betrayed my fellow emperors because they betrayed justice and freedom. Since the purging of the Lion Knights from this empire centuries ago, we have always treated our citizens fairly. Now Dastan is a thriving empire, with many different races and people within its borders. You may have only encountered a few of them, but many are unhappy with the way the other emperors have been treating them. The Tethusials, which you may or may not have met, are an aquatic species of Dastan. Naturally, they require a certain amount of water to survive, and we won't give it to them. Alandri, Septrine, and other people in power argue that such a species doesn't belong in a place like Dastan. They should just move from this dry and arid place, they say. But I disagree. Build a river, I say. Put our strongest men to it. Climate should not be enough to stop anyone from living in our great empire, though the unwillingness to do anything is. And the Tethusials know this. They joined with the Rogue Lion Knights in attempt to get what they want. You heroes and the armies of Dastan have fought them, even though it was for their own survival." "What I'm getting at here is that our empire is not as great as it once was. The Tethusials, Pongcanis, U'Kin, Rito, and other minorities are constantly denied the same freedoms and privileges of what some consider to be the 'higher' races. And even then, our people are denied in favor of the crown. I suppose you could say I turned on my allies for power, but for all the reasons my predecessors would consider to be the right ones. I was going to give the people exactly what they wanted, no matter the cost. And I had been very successful among the plebs. But no one else in power shared my views, so there was nothing I could do. Until the Lion Knights came along, and I had but one choice: to make the necessary changes by force. It is an option I would have avoided, but history shows that sometimes war is required for change." "You see, I am a liberator of peoples. I aim to make our nation not only the greatest, but also the happiest and wealthiest. I will not let my people be treated unjustly. And I could not simply stand aside as our empires ancient greatness was squandered by this generation of emperors. I would not go down in history as the one who destroyed it. Which is why I had to have the other emperors removed... forcibly, at it turned out. I would have had the Rogue Lion Knights and the Assassins to thank for that, if it weren't for you." "Those of you still wondering about my actions -" he shot a look at Cronk "-are probably still confused about why I even brought you heroes to Dastan in the first place. All for a purpose, as I am sure you were hoping. I had you eliminate the cultists in that cave when first arrived here, above the town of Voulun, because they were as much of a nuisance to me and the citizens of Dastan as they were for our beloved Alandri and Septrine. Sacrificing people to rise some ancient god... preposterous. So you see I am not all bad, as you might think. As for our visit in Dragonclaw, I had you retrieve medical supplies. They were originally intended for the front lines, but of course I had to do my part in allowing the Rogue Lions to cross into our borders. I took the medical supplies and prevented them from ever getting to the Dastan armies, and it was the poor, brave soldiers that died for this cause. It is unfortunate, but they should not have served under Alandri and Septrine. All part of the plan, however. And then we took you to that fort, Drakon, to retrieve weapons. Yes, that was to leave the last defense of Dastan before Drakencourt itself powerless. Well, they weren't actually expecting an attack there, but it all happened so quickly..." he grinned. "It would also equip my army as well as the Rogue Lion Knights. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the other emperors had hired heroes of Heroica as well. My loyal bodyguard, Russel, fled to tell me, when we fled. We knew it wouldn't be long before you figured it out." "Now you're probably wondering why I didn't run in the first place. I could've been very far away by the time you had realized I was a traitor, but instead I returned to Drakencourt. And I could have slipped away just now while you were fighting in the other room. I could have easily fled Drakencourt and Dastan among the confusion. But I didn't. You see, that is not my purpose. Power, or even survival, were not my main objections. It was all about telling the people that things don't have to be the way they are. I think the devastation caused here today has successfully conveyed that message. Those who believe in something other than what their masters tell them will rise up, just as we have, to take what is theirs. This may have been the first rebellion in Dastan since the Lion Knights' purge, but it certainly won't be the last. I guarantee it. My efforts will go down in history, and people will remember this day. Justice will be served." "One more thing, heroes. What I believe and what you believe may be two different things, but there is no wrong or right. You're driven by some sense of loyalty to your employers (which I've turned upside down for you), while I am driven by justice. Do not make the mistake in thinking that what they teach you at the hall gives you any higher standing among gods, or men." "I have said what I've needed to say, my fate is meaningless now." "Normally he would be tried for treachery and mass murder, and most likely hung, but I'd say the circumstances are a little bit different right now. The Dastan Empire was just at the brink of destruction, and right now I don't think anything will be the same. The lives lost, as well as collateral damage and political repercussions, will need tending to. And we're still not sure of any other spies or traitors in our midst, so a normal trial is unlikely. Heroes, you and I are the only ones to have heard what this man has to say. Considering that you also helped save Dastan itself, I believe that you are the only ones qualified to make the right decision here. Roland Emeraldo's fate is up to you..." What will the heroes do? QM Note: This is an all-inclusive decision, so each one of you needs to speak up (Flavius and Denerii don't really have a decision, though you're welcome to roleplay what they do have to say). Please discuss among yourselves, and each of you bold your decision.
  15. Dammit! I had changed it from Golden Armor to Heavy Armor to avoid confusion between that and the Golden Armor from Quest 39. I can change it again, to Encumbering Armor.
  16. Nikolai got up, still dazed from XX's blow. He was glad to see Emperor Septrine safe and alive, but now there were more important matters to attend to. "Heroes," he said addressing the six of Quest 29. "We must make our way back to Emperor Emeraldo. He will answer for his crimes." Sarick, Nerwen, Cronk, Galen, De'kra, Xander, Nikolai and Denerii headed to the West Corridor, where the emperor hadn't moved. He kneeling above Russel's mangled body, whispering something and forcing his loyal bodyguard's eyes shut. Flavius entered through the stairwell doorway at the opposite end of the hall, holding a broken wing to his side. "Heroes." He greeted them with an emotionless expression. 19. That would be cool. Just so you know, I think Byblos has mentioned that most dwarves come from the mountains west of the High Kingdoms. But a colony in Uland sounds completely reasonable.
  20. QM Note: Right, I forgot about his fire type. Fixed. Nikolai took another stab at XX, but the annoyed assassin grabbed his spear, and pulled the Dastanese commander closer. With a swift movement of his hand, he knocked Nikolai out. "Pathetic..."

  24. I know Dyric Rone has mentioned Duplovia, but I can't seem to remember the rest of you. Wish you guys would put a bio in your profile, now I have to skim through your quests again. Might be cool, but a lot of locations aren't on the map. For example, Baltorak (the orc wastelands) or Scandinavia wherever Eric and Haldor come from. All the time. Thanks for the answers, Flitwick and Sandy! I think he's referring to Quests 4, 7, 17, 18, and 19 as being part of the Dastan quests. And they are, but not speaking for the other QMs here, Quest 29 is not a direct sequel to 18.
  25. "No... they are not the same as the beginning of the battle, Id is level 10 instead of 5..." Switching tactics, Hybros attacks Uma from the back row with his Bladerang.
