I just had the awful realization that the Ji Pei rival the Bonapartes, not the Guild of Invision. Now it will take Hybros three quests to gain a great reputation with the Ji Pei...
-
Then you misunderstand me. My intentions were the same as yours, to discern why Pennie trusts Gibson over anyone else.
-
Fishing, no, I'm far to afraid of water for that. But really, I've been saying the exact same things you have about Gibson and Pennie. Are you... accusing me of something? Or am I misunderstanding you here?
-
:cry_sad: You still haven't answered my question. So I'll ask again: why are you telling Gibson Goat? What is his connection? I wasn't asking you to explain. Trust me, I've listened, and I've stated my suspicions. And I stand by them. Oh, I have voted for you. Mmm, cupcakes.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
JimBee replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Scuba and I discussed this as well, and we figured the same thing. I just don't want to make the class just a beefed-up ranger, either, though. How would everyone feel about the class if the ability to use shields was taken away? Obviously, less attractive, but for the sake of balance... Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I think your suggestion is a little OP/nonsensical, though. Flying would not require that they target an enemy, while Lined-Up Shot would have require it. Flying and LUS would have to be differentiated, or else the QM would have to guess at which enemy they target. A solution could be that I up the multipliers, so that a Miss roll while flying would give 2x to the next attack, Hit would give 3x, and Critical Hit would give 4x. Before someone says it's overpowered, consider the fact that the Winged Warrior takes a turn to do this (although it might still be OP, we'll see). Thoughts? -
:cry_sad: Certainly. I said a few times earlier why I thought she was suspicious or that I agreed with someone else's statements. But here it is again. - Day 1: Pennie had tunnel vision on Petey. Was "absolutely 100% sure" that he was scum, yet how would he know this? And what he based his suspicions off of was flimsy at best. Because Petey took a joke too seriously and was backed into a corner. Wants to take credit for starting the vote on Petey, for whatever reason. Maybe it doesn't indicate a Cultist attitude yet, but why? There's no logical reason for it. Overall, attacks Petey vehemently. - Day 1: Pennie and Gordon are all buddy-buddy. They seem to know each other's alliances and are agreeing with and defending each other. - Day 2: Pennie goes quiet, hardly says a word, and maybe the same could be said for Gordon. - Day 3: Like you just said yourself, he is trying to fly under the radar by semi-explaining himself, yet being totally ambiguous. Also, he talked to Gibson Goat "in the corner". What is he hiding from the rest of us? I'm sure he'll say it's dangerous to say out in public, but what makes Gibson more trustworthy than any of us?

:cry_sad: Thank you for finally speaking up, Booker. I'm glad I could give you some motivation. You tend to ignore almost everything else that's going on, too. And if you had actually listened to what I said... Indeed you could. She hasn't been much help either, and I found her statement almost as useless as yours before. Yes, I think she has acted plenty suspicious during this whole ordeal. Ralphy, yes, I think he's acted weird, but not scummy. He's only drawn attention to himself, and maybe his lack of explanation is condemning, but perhaps he doesn't have an explanation. I don't know, my gut is telling me that there are better options for today. Ralphy may very well be scum. I hate to defend someone who I'm unsure of, but perhaps this last bit of info can be of some help: Ralphy approached me this morning, in private, asking if I had been turned into a tree stump. I answered no, and he explained that he had woken up next to a tree stump. Thinking it was me, the handsome husband, he suspected that I had been turned into a tree stump. This wouldn't make much sense since he was the one informed and not I. Maybe it was a ploy to gain my trust, I don't know, but I wanted to be open about this information. Anyways, I think the case against Pennie is much stronger than that on Ralphy. It has nothing to do with the message mentioned above, just my own suspicions. Besides, the bandwagon is already forming, I doubt I will change today's lynch. Vote: Pennie Pig (Eskallon)

What's this? Didn't you notice me crying? See? I can't stop crying because there's water in my eyes. Ahhh!

"Not much more than you do. I have traveled with Guts before. He is a bit arrogant, eheh, but he gets the job done. I have met Cinna before, and Daggerfall, that quiet knight over there. That is about all, aside from heroes I've seen around the hall..."
-
:cry_sad: Exactly, thank you. And for saying it in a nicer way than I did. But there was no logical reason for you to believe that Petey was scum. We've been over this a million times. If you actually believed that, then fine, but excuse me for thinking you're an idiot. And you especially, since you went for him so vehemently without much reason. You seemed to know that Petey was scum for sure, yet no one is supposed to know anything for sure on Day 1, not unless they're scum. And, how you and Gordon were so buddy-buddy. Anything you need to say, you should say it to all of us. What makes that old goat more trustworthy than any of us?
-
:cry_sad: Oh excuse me for asking for some clarification on why we're planning on lynching someone. Ralphy was the one who said I was backing him up, not me. Well, maybe the scum were counting on us reaching the conclusion that Carly was scum. Either way I don't think it's helping to theorize on her alliance now, because we have a case of.. what's it? WIFOM? Thank you. I had noticed that Pennie had gone quiet, too, but I still cannot fathom why she wanted to take the credit for starting the lynch against Petey. I just makes no sense as a Cultist... unless she's counting on that. Ugh. Wow, look at this asshat. He didn't even notice that I had accused him of being scummy, and now he's just pulling the old "oh yeah, *mumble* suspicious... I will wait to the end of the day to place my vote and otherwise not participate" trick.

"...I am just thinking. Thank you for your concern, though. I see that you are also going on this quest in the Hovels, perhaps we will have the opportunity to fight alongside each other."
-
There's still water in my eyes... And now there's more. Make it stop!!! So could you... just saying. Personally, I've noticed that Booker Bear and Gilda Goat have been exceedingly quiet during this whole ordeal. They go along with whichever bandwagon is forming, don't add anything, and generally have that "flying under the radar" look to them. I'm sure they're not the only ones around here doing the same, but I've noticed that it seems to be a problem with those two in particular.

Hybros sat alone in the hall. It was time to visit the Copper Fox. He stood up and headed to the training room, feeling a bit light headed. He stumbled around a bit before reaching the doors, and pushed them open. The Copper Fox was waiting, standing in the center of the room as if expecting someone to walk in. "Back again, Hybros? How can I help you this time?" "I would like to... train in the ways of magic, eheh." "Very well. I see you have an emerald ready, and your scythe is imbued with the power of earth. You wish to wield the power of stone and tree, then?" "Yes... it was... is, the practice of my people. I wish to become a Sorcerer." Looking a bit confused, the Fox continued, "...Very well then." He lead Hybros out of the training room, and they walked for some time until they reached Eubric's northern wall. They headed into the woods. "Now, I want you to concentrate. Focus on your inner energy. Channel that through your emerald and your scythe. Imagine the forest around us acting on your command." Hybros closed his eyes and concentrated. He tried to recall how the ancient race of the imps harnessed the power of wood and earth. But the memory was like a dream after waking up. The images of his people started to fade, and new ones started to form. Ones of anger, and ruthless killing. He thought back to how he had slain so many enemies while in Guffington's dream with little effort. It may have been a dream, but what if nothing had changed upon waking up? What if more people were destined to fall to Zoot's Reaper, its wielder a cold-blooded killer. And not just enemies, allies too. Anyone that encountered him. The weapon started to shake in his hands, and from it came whispers that made the imp shudder. It whispered evil things into his head. How long? How many people would he have to ruthlessly kill until he got what he wanted? To reunite with his people? Maybe they didn't even exist. Maybe he was all alone in this world, destined to kill until... He opened his eyes. The Copper Fox was looking expectantly at him, standing in the afternoon sun. Zoot's Reaper was still, resting peacefully in his hands. "Is something wrong?" "I cannot do it... wield this magic. It is impossible..." "Not impossible. Perhaps you need more time. More experience. You are an Assassin, which means you have the traits of a Ranger as well. Rangers are very much in tune with their natural surroundings, take some time to connect with that. There is a quest still open in the hall, sign into it. And during your travels, remember what I have told you." Hybros nodded slowly, a bit dazed. He stepped out of the training hall, back to the saloon to sit and think. He would later sign up for Quest #44: My Best Friend. He did need some time to connect...

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
JimBee replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Thank you for the feedback, it is highly valued. Not yet, but I think a lot of it will be dependent on what the player chooses to do. Now that you mention it, it is a bit plain. I've been thinking for a solution, something unique and something allows the player more options. What I was thinking was that instead of attacking, a Winged Warrior could choose to "fly". Flying would increase the strength of the next hit. A "Hit" roll for flying would be "Fly", which multiplies the next attack's strength by 2. A "Critical Hit" roll would be "Fly Higher" which multiplies the next attack's strength by 3. Take to the Skies would remain the same, and maybe the "Miss" roll could do something, too. EDIT: And to answer your question, WBD< yes the next turn is taken by Lined-Up Shot. I think I meant to call it one or the other and didn't remove the other name. -
Ahhhhh! Water!!!! Water!!! *someone offers a glass of water but Ernie knocks it away* Ahhh! It's outside! Get it off!!!! It's in my mouth!!! Oh my god it's in the air!!! Agh, water in my eyes!!! Ahem. Could someone please give the reasons to voting Ralphy today? I found his actions suspicious as well, but he's only drawn attention to himself by voting for someone else yesterday. I don't think that makes him innocent, but his actions aren't that condemning in my eyes. Oh, and those "actions" would be voting against the bandwagon and then joining it without much explanation.

Ah, the nostalgia of these obscure early-2000 sets... Thanks for the review, Cloney. So many minifigs... and spiders! The Green Goblin is really cool, as are the first of the dual-faced minifigs. There are some useful parts in here, but overall I think this set is rather boring. I guess the playability factor is good, but not a whole lot to see. I guess these sets of TLG's "dark age" don't hold up against the test of time.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
JimBee replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
I agree, the Archivist is creative, but needlessly complicated IMO. Specifically, adding ether to cause damage only on some rolls is confusing, and there's no need to say that they "cast an nonelemental spell, with elemental advantages due to imbued elements". It would basically be the same as any other attack, so why make it more complicated? Here's a class I worked on with Scubacarrot. It's a work in progress, so any feedback would be appreciated. Winged Warrior Additional Health: +9 Weapons: Winged Warriors generally used ranged weapons such as bows, crossbows, handcannons and throwing weapons, but can also use daggers and shields. Job Traits: Keen Eye: Allows the Winged Warrior to see far without a telescope. Natural Respite: see Barbarian. Flying - Winged Warrior can flap their wings to get to higher point, fly over obstacles, etc. Battle Style: Aerial - Winged Warriors fight while in flight, and prefer swift, aerial assaults behind the protection of their shields. 1. SHIELD: Take to the Skies - The Winged Warrior flaps its mighty wings, causing gusts of wind that stun all enemies for the current round, while making themselves invulnerable for the next round. In addition, wind-elemental damage equal to the Winged Warrior's level is dealt to all enemies. 2. CRITICAL HIT - Deals damage equal to 2x WP added to level. 3. HIT - Deals damage equal to WP added to level. 4. LINED-UP SHOT/CAREFUL AIM: The Winged Warrior takes a turn to line up an accurate shot on their opponent. The following turn they will deal 2x WP + Level, plus inflict the Fragile effect on the opponent. If their target is defeated before then, they will instead fire on the next available enemy. 5. DEFENDED DAMAGE - Receives damage equal to the level of the enemy minus their SP. 6. SPECIAL DODGE - Has a 50/50 chance of dodging the enemy's special so that it hits the next ally in the battle order, unless the special affects everyone. -
On the matter of this trap-setter... it appears Baxter's death was by the same MO as last night on Wallace (as others have said). This killer could be a vigilante that mistook Baxter for a Cultist, but he/she could also be a third party killer. I disagree with Becka, I think that Baxter was being somewhat discreet in his actions. I don't have any specific examples, but that is the vibe I got. All I'm saying is that the possibility of this killer being a vigilante should not be ruled out because of the mixed alliances of his or her kills. Also, while I do believe Heidi is right about Carly being scum, there is a possibility that the Cultists can choose to use a certain action every night. Not all storybooks designate one specific killer each night, sometimes they are allowed to designate a (still living) member of their gang to perform the task.
-
I think Carly was scum as well. She went dead silent yesterday after the bandwagon had formed, and now the scum have swept her up. My theory is that the scum told her to keep quiet, to not give us any hints toward her alliance or any reason to suspect her. Then they hide the body, preventing us from gaining anything today. Or maybe they're counting on that theory, who knows. Neigh.

Yup, everything between Foog's update and Si-MOCs misleading comment ( ) I missed. Thanks Big Cam!
-
Thanks for clarifying, Peppermint! I looked on Google but a quick search was nothing compared to that.
-
So I guess this means you didn't update the thread, just your post... Everything after that post has been updated, anything before until the last update... I can't say the same for. Will fix that later.
-
I just realized this, so yeah now you see I'm not just trying to mess with you. I did some Google searching though, and I guess maces and flails are different. But then wouldn't a club be basically the same thing as a mace? Gahhh so confusing.
