At first, I really wasn't going to bother with Ekimu. I didn't like all the trans blue, and I thought the mask would look silly fully translucent. And then I saw video reviews, and both of those complaints went straight out of the window. This iteration Ekimu not only carries a lot the aesthetics of his original form over to a larger format, but he also really has 2015's much more elegant aesthetic going, which I really appreciate. I'm not even that mad about the torso shell this time around, as the pistons kinda sink away to be overridden by glowing blue goodness. The combination of two gear mechanisms is ingenious, and is something I really hope we see again in future. My only complaints would be towards the lack of a stud shooter in the hammer (I really miss that) and the overt amount of friction given to his shoulder motion - It's just too much! Overall, a solid, aesthetically pleasing set. 9/10.

MOCs: The Six Sisters - Ancient Protectors
Logan McOwen replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Thanks for the comments guys! What's the issue? There was no pernicious or political agenda to making them all female (if you knew me better, you'd know I'd have no incentive to be like that), I just though it'd be interesting :) -

IIRC UtD is getting a later release in July. Not sure about QB though, but I'm not too upset about lacking him.

Which is the worst wave of BIONICLE G2?
Logan McOwen replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Y'know, I do genuinely like this year's summer wave, but I'm going to have to say it's the worst so far. While the Beasts are interesting, they're not nearly as nicely designed as the Skull Creatures were. And while Umarak the Destroyer is quite incredible, he isn't the entire wave, so... Yeah. Summer 2016 is the worst so far, but I still dig it. Favorite wave? Winter 2015. Hands down. The Toa and Protectors were magnificent. -

What would you ask the LEGO Bionicle team?
Logan McOwen replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I can think of a few... What's are the next evolutionary steps for the CCBS? What have you got in mind for future gear mechanisms? What's the most difficult thing about developing a Bionicle set? How does the design process for a Bionicle set begin? Where does the inspiration/concept come from? How different do Bionicle sets usually look from their initial prototypes? Which set is the most different from it's initial prototype? How do you come up with the names for Bionicle characters? How do you feel about the reception to G2 from fans of the original franchise? Is the G2 Bionicle storyline totally seperate from that of G1 Bionicle, or are the two universes connected or one-and-the-same? Who is your personal favourite Toa? Which is your personal favourite Bionicle set? Which would you rather fight; 100 Skull Spider sized Umaraks, or 1 Umarak sized Skull Spider? -
Not just instructions - These Lego magazines come with free little sets, so that Scorpion is included!

I don't tend to buy Lego in stores now (Amazon is my waifu) but from my experience, toy shops are the most consistent here in the UK, with supermarkets having a few current wave sets and maybe some previous wave sets. Surprisingly, Argos doesn't seem to even carry Bionicle in-store anymore, which is odd as they carry practically every set per season.

I like the new boxes for being stackable, for taking up very little space in comparison to canisters, and for being recycleable. There's also lots more room for great boxart, and them being made of cardboard means there's more room in the budget for more parts in the sets.
