  1. I'll really dig it if the inevitable sci-fi element of Gen2 is space travel. Like, maybe when the Toa have achieved their destiny, they have to find a way to return home... But they meet space-faring baddies along the way? I dunno, I just think that'd be super rad.
  2. I for one welcome our new space-toa overlords
  3. Something like these would be lovely.
  4. Yeah, they'll work well with MOCs that utilise dark bley bones.
  5. Was kinda hoping they'd be gunmetal, but dark bley makes so much more sense. 10/10
  6. Could be the same artist, or just a big coincidence :P And yeah, that's cool Gata!
  7. I think I've figured out what the art style from the comic strips reminds me of: The comics from the Throwbots/Slizers sets!
  8. While you seem a little pessimistic about this set VBBN, I really like it. Pohatu looks sleek, and the shaping on his legs is great. While for me it's weird how low his shoulders are, I still think he looks the biz. I won't be disappointed with this purchase. Thank you for the nice photos and information, as ever!
  9. UPDATE: Well, I tried rendering a different model, and whaddya know, it worked! I guess the .lxf I was trying to work with originally was buggy or something... Not to worry though. Crisis averted!
  10. Hey everyone! So I'm new to using POV-Ray and the LDD converter tool, and I'm having a bit of an issue. Last night, I got the two tools set up great, and was able to produce this, simple render. The converter took a minute or two to set up the .lxf for POV-Ray, and then POV-Ray got straight onto doing the render, which took 15 minutes or more. Now, this is where things get weird. After that render was complete, I closed both programs and posted it to Flickr etc, happy with what I'd achieved. A little later, I decided to do another render, with a different .lxf file. I input the .lxf into the converter, and left the settings as default so as to attempt a high quality render. The converter created the POV-Ray file in a few seconds, which was really odd. I then went to POV-Ray and opened the new POV-Ray file, and the render also happened in seconds... But it returned a completely blank image! I've tried and retried numerous times, with different settings, different .lxf files (even the one I rendered the first time!), and fresh boot-ups of my laptop... No success. Has anyone else encountered this error before? What did you do to fix it? Please help! I've also attach the .lxf file I've been trying to render. pohatu2015mods.lxf
  11. Finally, a BZP review where "BIONICLE IS BACK GUYS!!! NOSTALGIAAAAAA!!11" isn't in the pros and cons.
  12. Onua's Powered Up mode is... Ehhhh...
  13. My plan is to get 6 sets in one go from S@H; Tahu, Gali, Pohatu, Lewa, the Protector of Stone and the Protector of Earth. I'll pick up any others that I may want elsewhere.
  14. Absolutely fantastic little set. Shame about the empty back, but who cares? He looks fantastic from the front, I wouldn't want his back turned to me!
  15. That's incredible. Have no idea whether or not I want to compete with that or not now!
  16. Not impressed by LOSS.
  17. Looking at reviews and pictures of these sets is not helping my insane desire to have them ;n;
  18. Oh, I've got another thing I'd like to see: A black version of the friction joint, without the rubber nub inside the ballcup. This would be good when you want to extend a bone section by one module, but don't want to tighten the socket joint (such as with Gen2 Tahu's ankles).
  19. Fantastic design! Exactly what I envisioned! Also, those boxes <3
  20. On the subject of Ekimu and Makuta possibly being Protector-sized builds with gearboxes, I recall something I found on Brickshelf yesterday... Now while this gearbox is really no different in size to those used on the Toa, I still think (with axles that short at the shoulders) that it'd work nicely with the "XT4" style of torso bone. Granted, the character would have very raised shoulders... Which I guess ties in with those blocky shoulders on Ekimu and Makuta. Those could be new molds, similar in form and function to the armour pieces which premiered with Kalmah and Carapar in 2007's Barraki line. These parts could be connected to the shoulder axles on the gearbox, and in turn have ball joints for the arms connected to them. I might have a go at mocking up what I mean when I get access to my parts later tonight. If I don't feel free to bug me on Tumblr about it :P Ninja Edit: Gearbox from here
