  1. No worries :D
  2. So, a lot of builders aren't really very keen with using G1 Bionicle parts with the CCBS. While that's fine and dandy, I just want to tease you with a little something I discovered the other week... Yep, Vorox armour works perfectly with CCBS bones with Technic holes! Connected with just one Technic pin, and kept stationary via it's own axle connector slotting into the bottom of the socket area of the bone, it's almost as if you have a brand spanking new CCBS shell! This Vorox can't believe his newly-revamped optics! Even if you're largely CCBS purist (like myself), I still think you should invest in some of these. They come in tan and brown like you see here, but also black and purple, and a 5 year money back guarantee! Lewis god dammit this isn't an infommercial please stop Give it a try!
  3. I quickly designed a Toa for my trans-orange Mask of Fire a while back. Meet the Master of Magma! Sorry for the badly lit photos I personally see the transparent mask as a different mask entirely, the Mask of Magma - imagine the elemental powers of Stone and Fire, all in one mask. A corrupt mask, much like the MoUP. Anyway, I'm gonna do a bigger, better version of him at some point, using some of those printed shells from Fire Lord. Maybe also decide on a name for him :P
  4. Do you want what's inside? Open it. It's your choice.
  5. Somewhat off topic, but Clarke's Third Law states that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. I feel that this law applies perfectly to Bionicle. So, to commemorate this, here's a 4K wallpaper I whipped up. Enjoy! (Image links to the full-sized wallpaper - it's a large file!)
  6. Why?This is a reboot. We have so many opportunities for new and exciting things... And yet everyone's like "Bring back Vezon! And the Bohrok! And give the Protectors the Turaga's names! Bring back the Vahi!" While it would be cool to see a Gen2 Takanuva, is it really necessary for anything more than to appease the nostalgia-goggled among us? Not really.
  7. Oh gosh, that's a tricky one! I'd have to say my current favourite would be this little number: Just look at that sweet little thing. Also, coming in at a close second, it'd be this particular bone: Something about this thing just epitomises CCBS for me. Same with the 5M shell:
  8. I like you, you're firey. But seriously, no need for passive aggression dude. We're talking about action figures on the internet, not politics.
  9. Y'know what irks me? People using Gen1 terminology to refer to Gen2 artefacts and characters. The PoF is not Vakama, the Mask of Fire is not a Kanohi nor the Hau, and the "baby" villager is not Takua.
  10. I think the MoCr would be a neato little bonus, but I can definitely just see it being a recoloured Toa mask. Or maybe a Protector mask?
  11. Veyronian, I did some very similar modifications to my Tahu! The only differences on the legs are the upper legs (5M shells, no addon, 5M hinge bone, friction joint), 3M shells for the "calves", gold addons attached to the 2.0 torso shells to add kneepads, and gold feet. His lower arms have trans-orange hands and bones, and he has the Chima addons protecting his shoulders, as opposed to the new addons.
  12. Wow! That's fascinating!
  13. Sorry, I know I'm late to the discussion, but about a movie. I'd love something with the graphic style of TLR and the HF show, but with a similar animation style to the original trilogy. The set designs are great as they are, and wouldn't need gross modifications like those in the original trilogy. EDIT: I'm a Knight now? Huh, neat,
  14. Ekimu is comatose. Also I really don't think eating or drinking are even necessary for him or anyone in the Gen2 universe, as was the case in Gen1.
  15. I definitely feel that that's what's being done. It makes sense, as not only is this iteration of Bionicle aimed at a younger, more quick to satisfy audience, as is the case in this day of smartphones, social media and fast food. I know I know, that sounds terribly cliché and "KIDS THESE DAYS" of me, but kids these days (hurr durr) are indeed all about quick service. Now, Lego leaving so many gaps open in the story surrounding Bionicle will give a lot more space for the imagination to seep in. I don't know if you guys have seen it, but there was a screencap going around of a comment from a mother on the Bionicle Facebook page. She described how her son had imagined the current Bionicle universe to tie in with that of Hero Factory, and that this is on a distant planet in the HF universe. Also, a lot of younger MOCists are already creating their own Masters of the elements, and villagers of all different shapes and sizes. And, like with Hero Factory, it's very easy for these fan-made characters and creatures to be roughly canon. The first generation had a very strict canon, with specific islands, organisations and populations, and many many unusual names to get used to. Hero Factory and this second generation of Bionicle don't have as strict a canon - with Hero Factory, pretty much any Hero or Villain you designed was pretty canonical, because HF's universe is vague and open to interpretation. This isn't so much of the case with Bionicle Gen2, but it's certainly a lot more open to interpretation and rewriting, and I think that's what Lego really want. TL;DR I think Lego have let more open to interpretation in Gen2 so that younger fans can create their own characters and stories without worry of straying from canon, much like they did with Hero Factory.
  16. Think about it this way everyone: If you have a decent amout of CCBS parts, you'll be able to easily change whatever you don't like about these guys in minutes. That's it. Done with that topic.
  17. Really, the thin-into-thick design of these guys just makes complete practical sense. The whole idea is that these are cybernetic skeleton guys, with bits of battered up armour on. The armour they're wearing is so thick in comparison to their current bodies, because the armour used to go onto much thicker limbs. But now all the casing and whatnot has crumbled away off these guys, they're left with armour that's a bit too big for their bones.
  18. The plastic used in these chestplates is somewhat softer than standard ABS, so I'd be very careful with chemicals. I cleaned all but one of the Gunmetal chestplates from my Chima sets with nothing but a good ol' fashioned pencil eraser. It took a while, and much rubber was spilled, but it worked wonders - it's almost as if they never had prints!

  20. I can confirm that Onua's eyeholes are tiny, mainly because his mask is. However, because it is so small, there's a lot more room at the back of the head to hit the brainstalk and illuminate the eyes. All the rest, par the Mask Of Ice, largely cover the back of the brainstalk, channelling less light to the eyes. With the HF Heroes, the whole of the back of the head was translucent, which allowed more area for light to hit. Now we've only got piddly lil brainstalks, eyeglow is harder to achieve when the top of the head is largely covered.
