No. If they weren't 80% prefab gearbox like the originals were, they'd be kinda neat... but I want to see something new, not just rehashed ideas of old. This a reboot, after all. Anyway, my hopes for 2016; BIONICLE Parts Personally, I hope we see those leg armour parts from the Star Wars figures in Bionicle. I'd imagine those things would look quite smart with prints/stickers. Also, a new armour addon of some description would be more than welcome - preferably something that isn't too specific in purpose like the addon included with the skull troop is. In regards to colours, I'd love to see more trans purple and trans apple green, and of course more dark azure. Oh, and gearboxes must stay! Sets It's inevitable that we're getting a new troop of baddies next year, but in regards to what kind of baddies, I'd like to see something of a different theme. This year, it's been all skulls and bones and halloween spookiness, so it'd be cool for 2016 to take a different direction - maybe slime themed characters? Armour resurrected by ghosts? Or even a troop of beasts? In regards to good guys, reflecting on Hero Factory, we might just be seeing that Toa again. If that's the case, I'm more than happy for it. I'd love to see them with more ornamental armour, kinda like that worn by the fire team in the 2014 Chima Ultrabuilds. Can't really think of what else they'd do for a group of goodies, though - a band of villagers, maybe? Star Wars Parts Recolours are where these Star Wars sets really shine, so that's what I'd really be hoping for. Things like sand green or more tan would be excellent. Sets I'd love to see Boba Fett, and maybe a less conventional character like a Battle Droid or a Droideka. A Stormtrooper would be cool to see too. Other I'd be really interested to see another contraction theme somewhere along the line, be it licensed or otherwise. Maybe Ninjago? Or Superheroes again?

I love this idea. I can imagine the set functions too - a Tyrannosaur with a gearbox driving his legs, a Pterosaur with a function similar to dragonbolt... Oh man.

On the subject of tiny feet, take a look at my boy Kaikohuru: He has diddy little beast feet with the addition of tiny System toes, and yet he holds his balance pretty damn well - especially considering that he has a ton of Technic in his upper body, making him very top heavy. Also, my modded Lewa: Again, teeny tiny feet, only extended very slightly by loose little talons. I really don't see the issue with giving Toa-sized sets little feet like these, as long as they're accommodated accordingly. Smaller feet could even be used with Titan-scale characters, but in that situation, friction joints may be necessary.

Yeah, Gali's colour scheme is gorgeous. Very, very nicely done. She's honestly one of the best CCBS sets that've been out so far, IMHO.

I'm surprised so few people are excited about this one. Here he is, in the plastic. That head mold looks lush. -
Good lord this thing is spooky. Love it! Also, love the quote in your sig - truer words hath not been spoken B)

I really don't think older feet would fit with the new sets, as they're way too detailed in comparison with the CCBS and even the new armour addons. But that's just me.

None of the old limb pieces whatsoever. In fact, absolutely none of the overtly greebled, specialised torso/limb/armour parts that came along in G1. It'd be nice to see new addons inspired by old parts, however - an armour addon with the corrugated feel of the Toa Metru leg piece would certainly be interesting, or something more angular like the Rahkshi leg piece. But, I really wouldn't like it if the CCBS was really overtaken with hyper-detailed nonsense, as things get too patchwork when that happens - case in point; most amateur G1 MOCs. In regards to old parts being brought back, I definitely agree that the Vahki hip piece would be very nice to see. I myself have used it in a few CCBS MOCs, as it really lends well to the system. As for weapon pieces, I'd love to see the Air Katana make a comeback, as that piece is incredibly dependable. Same with that blade used for the Vorox's stinger. Oh, and as you said OP, the Bohrok tooth would be cool to see again, and likely could, seeing as it was used with Drilldozer. Really though, I want G2 to be its own thing in regards to parts. While it was great to see the Guurahk staff blade again, and it's cool to use other old parts with G2 styled MOCs, I feel that new designs are what the reboot really needs. Be they inspired by old designs, or taken in an entirely new direction, I feel nuance and innovation should be the way to go.

Hey, this is pretty great for your first! Well shaped, with great posture. While the colour scheme is a little haphazard, it's not really that sore on the eyes at all. Overall, very nice! Will you be getting any of the new Bionicle sets, or buying some old Hero Factory sets? I'd recommend it - the more CCBS* parts you have, the more awesome stuff you can design! *CCBS stands for Creature and Character Building System, which is the ball and socket building system that premièred with 2011's wave of Hero Factory sets, and has since become the standard for Lego action figures.

Do it. Lego aren't making 4M shells in tan yet, so this'll be the one place where you'll be able to nab them. Don't tempt me, Frodo.- 10 replies
