  1. What is the "elves" set you mention here?
  2. I hope the bird one makes it!
  3. I suspected that! Glad to see there really is a copyright on the red-nosed guy.
  4. yeah! The bridge the bats live under. I scanned the entire thing looking for Austin! :) OTOH none of the pictures are working for me so I guess its just as well :(
  5. Do all of those scientists come with lab equipment? I'm looking more at the telescope/skeleton/etc. Than the figures. (which are pretty plain)
  6. Lego sells boxes of basic bricks all the time. I even see them in the aisles at Wal-mart. Go under Bricks and More on the Lego site They used to have one with wheels I bought for my son when younger.
  7. Boys also don't prefer too many girls in their sets, unfortunately. I've seen my son (7 years old) be deciding between two Lego sets and choose the one that doesn't have any girls in it. When he does get a girl minifig here and there he gives it to me. (probably eventually his little sister). About the only time I see him playing with girl figures are his sister's snap and style princess dolls -- and I think the main draw there is the mechanism to dress and undress them. Oh and he wants girls when he makes dioramas -- trying to recreate a real scene from history or such. His best friends are girls and he has no problem playing with girls in RL. But when it comes to LEgos, Imaginext, other such figures, he only plays with the boy figures. Very surprisingly. 1) Absolutely NOT for political correctness on my part. In fact the PC part almost made me NOT buy a set that I otherwise loved because I was afraid it would be taken as some sort of "statement" How many scientists do we have in any recent Lego set? I've got the Olivia's workshop and am buying the new Treehouse with a science lab. But I can't think of any in City. Maybe there's a lab in the current Arctic stuff? But its a small part of a more expensive set. In this ONE set we get a dinosaur skeleton! (haven't seen that ANYWHERE). And a telescope! And a science covered chalkboard. And three scientists (Which I might be replacing those lipstick heads because I'm not real fond of lipstick. We'll have to see how they look in RL) 2) You do realize this is a Lego Ideas set? Lego can't just take the idea and create something completely new with it. The voted on idea was 3 vignettes VERY similar to what was actually produced. Voted on. Chosen. And they made it.
  8. strangely: As for "Overuse of pink" Take a look at most Friends sets and you'll find pink is just an accent color. For those LOOKING for more pink sets, they don't feel like Friends has ENOUGH pink in it. Just a few bricks here and there. Friends has more bright colors than City -- but bright colors of all hues. Pink, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, etc. Probably more white than black. Etc.
  9. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way too. Why is it only for daughters? Why not get it for our sons and ourselves? Why can't our sons enjoy the dinosaur skeleton? I certainly expect sets with male minifigures to be played with by my daughter so don't see the inclusion of female minifigures as a reason the set must be played with by girls alone.
  10. Wouldn't it be neat to become a series like Minecraft? She had more than 3 vignettes in her original idea!
  11. Actually, I've always though Research Institute would sell better than the Exo-Suit Exo-Suit appeals to Classic Space fans. I thought about buying one because I like the green men. I wanted to buy three Research Institutes, at least. 1) Cheaper and 2) I could think of many more people who would buy it. I also figure Research Institute would do MUCH better at bringing in fans outside of Lego's typical fans
  12. I'm glad I ordered when I did! 2 hrs before you posted this!
  13. It's out of stock! Limit 1 per customer.
  14. You mean they ask to hold your product for loss prevention reasons? I thought it was to make it harder for you to change your mind about which Lego sets to get. Once they take that set from my hand, I feel like I HAVE to buy it. I can't decide to get something else instead!
  15. I agree. I'm still not sure I'm going to spend $130 for it. I was psyching myself out for $100... And that's a big jump. But the image/photo makes the set look MUCH bigger. Esp because Smaug is as big as the build! (which looks somewhat substantial here)
  16. The Lego Movie Cuckoo set was only $20.
  17. Aren't those dogs in the box?
  18. I *love* The Pirate Ship scene in the book. It alsways seemed pivotal to me. When Aragorn accepts that he will be King and starts making definite moves in that order And they made the pieces GLow-in-the-dark! :)
  19. in-house Castle. Less restraints on what they can do by the license holder. Less pre-conceived notions by the people deciding whether to buy it.
  20. I want the girl green spaceman and the turtle. Will have to decide whether to get the set and piece it out or try to pick up just those pieces somewhere.
  21. Do we know how much the Exo-Suit is going to be?
  22. She's green! Aigh! not so sure about the Suit itself. But she's green!
  23. I was one of the CuSoo voters for this set. And for me, it was about the set (especially the dinosaur skeleton).
  24. There are already male minidolls in the Friends line. (I do wish available in a cheaper set. But I'm looking for the perfect set to get just to get a male doll! Currently trying to decide between Jungle Bridge rescue and Ariel's Magic Kiss
  25. I'm expecting it to sell out fast. Olivia's workshop sold fast, and the CMF female scientist was popular too
