  1. I understand that, my point is, it's essentially a pirates themes based set, just under a different theme name as a one off. It's still very much a full on pirates themed set given its a pirate ship with pirates, and part of an island, and other pirate qualities that were apparant in the actual old pirates theme sets, so therefore easily slots right into what pirate fans are exactly after, if they were to be given a single offering, to which it was. So ideas theme or not, that's just a name. The set itself is quintessentially what fits right in with the pirates theme.
  2. Careful, we already had space knights and we know how well that went down...
  3. Interesting thought, so, in your opinion, is Pirates of Barracuda Bay not a pirates set, but purely an ideas set? (am not disagreeing as such (although I do believe it is in the theme of Castle regardless of it being technically an ideas set), am just applying your method of thinking to see if it follows the pobb set)
  4. I don't understand why you are placing such an importance on it as though the world will end if it doesn't happen. Eurobricks isn't suddenly going to collapse and die out by not doing your emergency highly demanded poll, it'll keep going. If other places such as stoneware have already conducted a poll, why does Eurobricks need to do one too? Just carry on discussing stoneware poll. Unless you were hoping for a different result than the official poll, and are hoping this new poll of yours would provide those results thus giving you the opportunity to whine about how the official one was rigged and its clear people actually want whatever theme it is you wanted to win... Outside of that, there really is no point in conducting this poll. To add to that, 58000 voted. Considering lego's reach, that's not actually that many at all. You'd be lucky for 100 people to vote in eb's poll if they did do it. 100 or there abouts, isn't a big enough sample size to give a proper representation of what all eb members think.
  5. Try telling it to them they class castle as something with a section of castle wall, small Fort, an actual castle or Knight horse and carriage or some other. Tbh I kinda see where they're coming from, but similarly, personally I do believe blacksmith is very much in the 'theme' of castle, additionally for reason as you point out
  6. Genuine bionicle question: If people didn't like the reboot and didn't get into it because lack of story and marketing.... What would be different about a potential one off set that would make you buy it? Which would likely come with a lack of story, and probably a lack of marketing....?
  7. Received yet another email saying the razorcrest is back in stock at 01:50...while I was asleep... Just woke up for work at 05:50, and it's showing out of stock.... This is ridiculous!
  8. I would also argue, that every now and then, lego changes their ways. I'm just saying it's no guarantee. Perhaps highly probable, but definitely no guarantee. Even if they have done it since 2013, doesn't mean they'll Co tinue that way forever. At some point it can change, and who's not to say this point it'll change? I do totally get why people assume a pilot will be included, I'm just not one for assuming anything with lego at the moment
  9. I think you're missing one vital point. It's a transport. All your listed sets only have one type of person in them. Pilots, so it'd make no sense to include anything but pilots. Except the slave 1. That's a unique ship. Belonging to a popular character, so it'd be stupid to not include the character. But they also included other figs too. So, while yes, boba was the pilot, it's more the fact its his own personal ship. Not because he piloted it. The gunship? Well, its not unique to any specific character or pilot. So, while I understand your points, I don't feel they hold any weight for this case. If it's a fake leak/rumour, and we get a pilot, that's cool. I got no issue with it. If its true, then tbh, I'd actually much rather have a unique looking clone and hopefully unique jedi...
  10. It's a *ucs* gunship, not minifig sized (highly doubtful) and so requires no pilot for play value, so I could totally understand them not including a pilot. If its true there are only 2 figs, which would seem underwhelming for those expecting an excessive amount of figs, then its totally believable they might not include a pilot, but perhaps a single troop and a single jedi, as we're often carried many times, and so very relevant.
  11. Dammit! The razorcrest came back in stock in the uk (I received an email) but I got the email at 12:20 and only just realised I had an email and checked, and they're out of stock again... Guarantee half went to bloody scalpers
  12. As Danth said, it hasn't been 2 decades. People claiming Castle are getting the blacksmith. Some Castle fans would disagree that its a castle set but a random modular of an old blacksmith (with 2 knights) as its not a castle or castle building but a village building. If that's the case, constraction also got the star wars figures too. So bionicle fans are pretty much equal footing-or less- than caslte/pirates. I exclude space because if being that technical, space has had the city space theme recently as well as all the nasa stuff. But we know that Space fans aren't after the city space type of sets. We know that the blacksmith isn't really what most castle fans are after (it's just their tidbit of food to grab at because it's the closest thing they can have), and we know that the star wars contraction figs aren't what bionicle fans are after either. If I'm honest, I think all 4 deserve it because they all played a part in TLG's history and success in one way or another.
  13. Why? What is the purpose of this if it features all the same features as the official poll?
  14. Referring to them as 'the fricking Bionicles fans :wall:' kinda instigated the situation, so not entirely blameless in lighting the ensuing fire... But can we all just stop? Bionicle may take the number 1 slot in the first vote, but votes won't be split up 14 times between 2 themes and then some. Whatever comes 2nd and 3rd, will have a much more compact and focused form of voting. Unless bionicle fans of the world unite MandR style, in all honesty, while I see them gaining a lot of support, I don't think it'll win through. The new viziyo figures recently leaked actually kinda reminded me of fabuland, 'a la minifigure style' That doesn't help the situation much, voicing your urge to see people disappointed. Verges on trollish behaviour... Once the other themes aren't split up, or there's only 2 others to vote on, while it doesn't bother me either way who wins as I've already got a big list of sets to buy without another being added, I can't see bionicle pulling through the second vote
  15. True, very true! But that doesn't necessarily mean it wouldn't get voted on much, quite the opposite I'd have imagined, considering how city and trains are still being voted on.
  16. I'm kinda surprised how model team isn't doing so well though... Thought it'd have done better
  17. Perhaps I do (underestimate) ... But why are they insufferable? (mabs digs are just light hearted ribbing, so if its that kinda thing, I don't see that as insufferable) I don't understand why there would be anything aimed at bionicle fans. Sure, bionicle is a different system, but... so? It enables different things for people of different tastes. Those people need to get a life and enjoy their aspect of lego they like, and let bionicle people enjoy what they like. And... Bionicle people shouldn't feel constrained to contraction because of other afols, there is so much more fun to be had!
  18. It favours bionicle over the themes that have been split that should be merged at this stage. Bionicle does have a big following, for good reason too, but it's glaringly obviously bigger than adventurers, paradise, Arctic etc. It's like putting someone like Eminem/Dr Dre, against Tekashi and getting fans to vote. Glaringly obvious who would win. Doesn't mean Tekashi doesn't have any fans. But not even a question that Tekashi would be in the running. So yes, on that basis, it does favour bionicle, as it's not allowing classic space/castle as a whole, to be fairly represented. Best case scenario if it does win, I sincerely hope TLG do it justice enough that bionicle fans are happy with it. Perhaps if they were able to reintroduce some molds to introduce a new figure with it, I don't know, I don't know much about it. I do know I don't begrudge them winning if they do, and hope that it meets their expectations. Same goes for whatever theme does ultimately win.
  19. How can what people are like, put you off something? That'd be like me letting the bionicle community put me off liking bionicle. I like things because I like them. I'll get something because I like it. Not because of the community. You don't even have to be part of a community to like something, you can like it without interacting with the community you don't like. As it is, I'd say the majority of the community are good and friendly/helpful. Just like any community. Are you telling me absolutely every fan of Bionicle gets on and doesn't argue/fall out and provide some form of negativity? I just can't get behind that way of thinking as an acceptable reason to not like something. Are you not your own person able to like what you want to like-regardless of what other people think? (ironic I'm saying that, I know!) You should feel free to like anything, simply because you like it, regardless of the negativity-which will be found anywhere and with anything. Car community is terrible for it, but, I'll always have my favourite car regardless of the toxic attitude of some 'enthusiasts' who think anything outside of OEM or looks different, looks stupid. I can think of a few members on here who could easily put me in your situation of anything that isn't bionicle, with star wars, if I let it. But I don't, because they don't represent what I like. *edit... Then again... BMW drivers.... They put me off ever getting a BMW
  20. What has bad experiences with afols in the past got to do with it?
  21. I never knew there was a perceived 'hatred' of bionicle. I understand a disinterest, I think people are taking it too far claiming bionicle community is hated. Bionicle just isn't my thing. I had one set, built it, found it handy you could store it built in its box, and it stayed there. Do I hate bionicle? Nah. It just has no appeal to me. Has the vote been set up entirely wrong? Hell yes. It favours bionicle fans through its very nature. Splitting all the other themes up like they did is ridiculous. Split them up later as sub themes, sure. But at this point? It shows a true picture in poor form. The entire space subset of themes should be one, as should castle, as should trains with city, and only once final 3 have been chosen, then split them up. Bionicle doesn't have to split its vote at all, many others do. I found it immediately odd that we were forced to choose a sub theme of Space from the get go. I don't know how they'd do a large 18+ set for bionicle. Will I be frustrated if it wins? Sure, because of the unfair nature of the layout of the voting. Will I hate bionicle/fans? Nah. It is what it is. And I'd be happy they got something. I'd be more inclined to buy the winning set if it was anything other than bionicle because the rest is all the same system, even if its something I didn't vote for. The system of bionicle just doesn't appeal to me in any stretch. However Im kind of understanding the perception of bionicle fans... Given how they 'appear' to feel more entitled, how they mostly didn't vote for 2 additional themes... and can't see our frustration at the unfair layout of the vote layout. I'd disagree with the view they didn't vote for anything else because they didn't grow up with anything else, that's codswallop. I'd more say its so they didn't provide a chance of adding votes to anything else, because they only want bionicle to win and not to assist anything else in coming close to it. Especially if there are a lot of accounts recently made to purely vote for it (ie; multiple accounts made by one person). Sounds like vote rigging to me. Which comes across as pathetic and childish.
  22. I'd have to say, while I understand dark humour and do find certain dark humour funny, and done the old 'groan' at the odd dad joke relating to a titanic joke, for TLG to include dark humour in that sense for a Titanic set would just be too far, and I'm sure they'd be full aware of the backlash they'd get for it. Knowing when to implement dark humour and when to not implement it, is the key. Not implementing it here would provide a much more successful opportunity and would remove any controversy. If they did, I can only say, on their head be it. It wouldn't destroy TLG, but they'd certainly face a backlash. As individuals to make jokes to each other is one thing. As a company, to provide dark humour when family ethics is what is promoted, is another. I didn't mean to come across harsh, I was just being straight forward with my response. Model sets of the Titanic have been made for yeeeaaaarrrrs by companies such as Revell and Airfix, it's nothing new or controversial in itself. And, if true, it is great for them to finally make one as a set. Hopefully, big enough to do it justice too. To provide a splitting function, and an iceberg, would just simply be in bad taste for the company to promote. As Murdoch shows, if you do really want an iceberg, the great thing about lego is, you're easily able to add one yourself, if that's your thing
  23. Its crap, it sucks. USA get exclusives everywhere else doesn't. It'll always happen that way too. So just get over it already. Same as the bloody arm printing, that crap is f'in boring and pointless. TLG will screw over SW with arm printing. Move on already....
  24. That's not even a question. To include an iceberg is entirely distasteful and pretty much a sign of disrespect or even mockery. Titanic is entirely a complete ship by itself. An iceberg isn't necessary in any stretch to make it 'complete' or to make people realise what ship it is. 4 funnel ship, most people associate that with the Titanic. No need for iceberg-the reason many people lost their lives. Is it controversial to make the ship itself though? Enough time has gone by, for it to definitely not be controversial. That's taking it too far and playing into the 'I'ma be offended on behalf of....' category. The ship itself was a piece of art, and deserves to be remembered. Sure, TLG going to make money off a tragic ship, but at the same time, it'll provide a nice subject for people to discuss and look at/display, provoke history lessons to those less in the know about it. There's taking being offended about something too far, and then there's simply being plainly disrespectful. The ship is the former, the iceberg is the latter.
