Hello all Eurobricks members and Town Lovers, Today, I will be doing up a review on Trail Ranger set. This is a very small set, and can be considered as part of current Impulse set series. This ranger vehicle is always on the move, making sure everything is in order! With his trusty mini-jeep, he is able to travel to different points at a very relative fast speed. Name: Trail Ranger Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1994 Pieces: 34 Minifigs: 1 Price: USD$3.25 An image of a 6514, Trail Ranger Let the ride begins Trail Ranger is a 4-studs wide vehicle and looks very nice and wonderful with its yellow combination. Somehow, this design reminded me of the Adventurers theme and Indiana Jones theme. Quite handy to make use of this vehicle to travel rough terrain. Great for traveling long expedition. The driver wears a green vest with patch pockets on both sides. Personally, I like the design of his vest. If you have noticed, he is wearing a blue sunglass and stubble pattern on its face. Just to add in abit of interesting information. This head design is only available in most town sets from 1993 to 1994. After that, this design is no longer in use. I wonder why? Simple design This is a very simple design that made used of mostly yellow bricks. Not a very big and complicated vehicle, I am sure most of you are able to do reverse engineering on this set without much diffculty though. However, locating the yellow car base can be quite a problem. My favourite part These tilted blue panel are great for doing MOCs for other cars that can be used as a windscreen. Not a very rare part, but an useful part indeed. Different angles of the vehicle Ready to go for patrol Summary review Playability: 7.5/10 (Not much playability involved, except using it to cruise down the roads) Design: 8/10 (Very very simple design. It's just an impulse set, what can you expect?) Price: 10/10 (A very inexpensive set based on the 1994 pricing. Great way to buy many mini-size jeeps to sell in your town) Overall: 8.5/10 (This vehicle is a "nice to have" kind of vehicle. Well, I love the simplicity, but its defintely not a must to have in every town.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? Hope everyone of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Critics are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated)

Sinner, thanks for this outstanding review! I am glad that I had read this review in advance, before making my purchase on this set earlier with my girlfriend. We built this set for a total of 3 hours, to complete this beauty, in about 2 hours ago. There are stars circling around my head at this very moment, when I post this reply. I must admit from the bottom of my heart, that this is an wonderful piece of house, that simply shows the beauty of it, with the European kind of houses, where there is a garage. Furthermore, there is a lovely blue car. I am seeing stars right now, in the middle of the night, and I must drop a thanks to you personally as well. Although it is empty from its interior unlike the 4996 Beach House, but this set has the majestic look which simply place a "Wow" factor in front of it upon completion. At the moment, we had plans for getting the second set next month, to build the other design as well. Hopefully, I will be able to share with you guys, all of my different Creators sets, with its alternate designs as well in the near future.

All replies are suddenly "branching tree" variety?
WhiteFang replied to Morgan19's topic in Forum Information and Help
Hello Joey Lock, I believe you had selected "Outline" mode in the options. You will be able to locate the options button the right hand side of each individual topic. Within that options button, there are few useful features in there. Look below, and you will notice the "Display Mode". The format, which we are familar with is the "Standard" mode. You can adjust the display settings via there. Hope this answer of mine, is useful to you. Do post back here, if you have any more doubts. WhiteFang Edit: Sinner is faster than me. -
You had just read my mind! I am hoping to get this set somehow, to complete my entire Indiana Jones collection. $275 is just too absurd. I will have to check around, and wait for a better buy. Just have to wait though.

This is another very nice Star War set, especially with the 4 Clone Troopers. There are only 1200 sets for these and 500 sets for Indiana Jones exclusive. It seemed we will never see this in our hands, unless paying a high price for it on eBay or Bricklink. I like the idea of these bigger battlepacks.

K.D, actually all of our recent Classic Reviews have a poll included. Please feel free to browse through all of the recent Classic Town reviews, which had contributed greatly into the Town and Trains forum. As a City enthusiast as yourself, it might be interesting for you to let you have a walk down to memory lane, where Classic Town begins.

Just now, I went to speak with my father and asked him "Father, what is the first LEGO set you had bought for me?" My father looked at me and said "Actually, that LEGO set was bought for myself. I built it, and showed it to you. I believed that is the first LEGO set ever." I showed a very pleased look and happy to know that the first set he had ever bought for me, was my all time top 3 favourite set. I thank him personally for bringing LEGO into my life, when I was a child. My first LEGO set is none other, the 6378 Shell Station, which was released in 1986, classifed as Classic Town.

Mystery Castle - Building Challenge Discussion
WhiteFang replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great entries everyone Mystery Castle particpants, whether dead or alive, please try and submit an entry before the deadline is up in approx 3 days time, set by Lord Dragonator. Looking forward to the rest of the entries as well! -
I wouldn't agreed less, that this is an excellent add-on to the 6375 Gas Station. Good job, for able to keep your stickers and decals in such terrific condition. This is a very very simple design, with an unique playing feature which is the hose, hiding behind the grey shutters. The color combination of white, red and grey works well for me. It seemed most Exxon sets are following such color theme. One thing I do not like the most, is giving a mini-fig and is not able to place it in a driver seat. Although we can modify to a bigger vehicle, but it will defeat the purpose of having this set after all. Despite of such major complaint, this is still a must to have set, especially if you have the 6375 Gas Station. I give it a "4".

Brickster, once again, this is another excellent Gas Station, awaiting to be in the limelight! I don't understand why I always loved these Classic Gas station such as Shell, Exxon and Octan. They just look so lovely. No City or Town could ever survive without these important key installations around, to pump gas/petroleum for all vehicles, that depend it for fuel consumption. As always, all Gas Station will always inculde a road plate, and I am glad I am still seeing roads included in such sets, such as the recent 7993, Service Station. However, Town Plan's Gas Station, did not include a baseplate though. Nevertheless, let me continue with this review. 3 Lovely mini-figs, included in this set. It's not common to see Exxon torsos these days. I just love that lady staff very much, especially with its classic hairdo. 4-studs car just simply rocks, with such fabulous simple design. Furthermore, it gave you 2 cars instead of one. What more can you ask? You don't see TLG giving more cars in recent sets these days. What surprise me about this cars, is the ability of opening the front engine column. I remembered vividly that only trucks or massive vehicles, does have this playing feature. Nevertheless, it's an excellent addition. For a 1980 Gas Station set, this is a perfect set, even when it's going to fit into my current Town buildings. I am sure, it won't have a hard time to match with the rest of the facade. I can use this gas station and stationed it near the country side. This set is so hard to resist, with such elegant design of its fuel pump. There are a total of 4 pumping stations. The vehicles won't be fighting against each other, for slots then. The reparing area is very nice, it will be even better if it include a shelter on top of it. The office is simple and nice. I had never expect an office to exist in Gas Station. Most of the time, there are groceries stores, for the consumers to get off, buy off some stores and load it in the car. No major complains from me. I am not trying to be selection bias. I had demostrated key points which is good enough to justify my score. And, I gave it a "5". Outstanding Classic Gas Station set.

5150, thanks for the outstanding review! This is one of the most impressive Creator set, I had ever seen, apart from Creator houses. All of the Creator houses are just so beautiful. Ok, back to the review. The SUV is sweet, but it's sad to know that mini-fig can't drive this around. I believe, with slight modification, it will enable it place a driver in it somehow. This vehicle reminds me of the holiday camper set or vacation set, where the people could take a relaxing vacation on the road. The scale of the ferry is really very huge, and it is able to ferry quite a few 4-studs cars in it. Most importantly, I am glad you drive the truck with its trailer, loading it into the ferry. It sure fits well in it. This set is just so wonderful, especially with its alternate model of a cargo plane.

Superb review! I love this small set very much, especially the design of its speedboat very much. Copmike, is there any chance for a trade to exchange this small lovely set, for something? Because it's defintely not possible for me to get it in Sweden, while I am stuck in Singapore.

LEGO Collector's Guide & Collector Premium Edition raffle
WhiteFang replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had just submitted the entry, in case I forgotten about it. By the way, I had indicated "---------" (nil) Is it alright? I am not associated with any of the LUGNET, except Eurobricks. Thanks for highlight this great raffle. -
Very funny and nice! These are Sumo craze! Seriously, how did you manage to get it stick on? You did it by using the rubber bands?
-
The blue and brown color combination works well for me, and it is certainly looks appeasing. From its front, it looks like a bulldozer, which is hard and sturdy, determined to push barricades away. I believed the bolt could not be shot, right? The customs decals are really very nice, and somehow it resemble as Elven Night Warriors, that hid deep in the night. Inertia, nice MOC!

This is a very nice Aqua Raider, exosuit/hardsuit to be introduced into its latest addition. I like it very much, especially with its turbines at the back. Although, it looks abit blocky, but the sturdy look and its cockpit work well for me. Therefore, I will love to have one in my Aqua Raider sets.

A very nice train review! I had seen this set before in one of your Wild West set up. Glad you share it with us again. This set is very nice and promising. I had never own a train set before in my collections. Recently, I understand the difference between "RC" and "9V" train sets. Although I am not an expert in grading train sets, but I am just stating my views as a "greenhorn". This set has its advantages and disadvantages. To be fair, let me go through its advantages, from its review. The first compartment, which is the engine carriage as well. I love the antique black and red look, that used coal to fuel its power. Nice and classic, without excessive use of stickers! I am never a sticker lover, just stick it if its necessary. The large yellow container, is a great way to stow away debris, rocks, gold or whatever. I will leave it to your imagination. If I were to use it, I will probably use it in my Dwarf Mine, to carry gold and sliver, letting them push it back and forth. The stores compartment comes with a hefty good accessories, like treasure chest, brown crates, mail box and etc. A good way to seize good accessories to match with your MOCs or Town set-up. Anyway, the stores compartment do not restrict carrying such goods only. The red coach compartment, is my favourite of them all. The trans-blue window, gives us a great inside to its interior, where it can sit in 3 passengers comfortably. I will probably want to get this set, for its red coach, and add on 3 to 5 compartments, making it as a red passenger train. The mini-figs and the wheel barrow is really very sweet. This set appeared in my dark age, and I never had the slightest impression of seeing this set before, apart from viewing it in Brickster Wild West set up. As for its disadvantage, it will be the tracks and the speed regulator. I am surprised for a complete train set, like this did not come with essential train parts. It will not be good to have this, if this is your first train set. However, if this is not your first train set, I am sure you have plentiful of tracks, for this new model to run into your town. I wouldn't mind having this set. Furthermore, I will like to emphasized that this set is worth USD$66, which is affordable in my opnion. And, I believed the main reason for its "low cost" is due to its tracks and speed regulator. I will give this a "5", mainly for its red carriage and the classic engine facade, if you include a "poll" for it. Thanks Brickster, do educate members like me on train issues, and advice me what train sets to look out for in the future. I believed you are referring to 1998 review of 3225. I thought it was going to re-release again in 2008.

A very nice and funny MOC. Seriously, I never expect the bonus part, where the troll wear beach pants. I am very surprised that it is fitting for him.

Guys, thanks for all of your wonderful and encouraging comments, towards this set. This was one of my most favourite set in the late 1980s, and I am glad to restore it somehow, with a small little part missing, which could not be that hard to replace. Bernd, I am glad reviews like these, mananged to change your perception towards this set. Honestly, this is a very good set to pass by, and I hope I had highlight the key features in this set. Hope you will have an easy time, getting it from eBay or Bricklink. Good job, by spotting the replacement part, which is hiding among them. That's why I show the orignal image. You should really take some time off, and sit in front of the Town and Trains forum, looking through at your childhood memories, where classic reviews like this are released in this forum. I am leaving some gaps in between my reviews now. I supposed Brickster will slow down soon. CGH, you are absolutely right. This is the first set that made use of the white basket component. In fact, there is only 2 sets in the entire LEGO theme which have make used of the white basket. It is the 6477 which is released in 2000. I am quite surprised after 13 years, they are able to produced it again. You shared the same sentiments as I do. It's a pity that set was released during the Dark Age of yours. On the other hand, these sets are my childhood sets which I grew up with. More Classic Town reviews, all the way! Edit: This is my 1000th Eurobricks post since I joined! It has been another great milestone for me, in Eurobricks!

A 1975 LEGO set, which is almost 33 years ago. This is one vintage hospital set, which is believed to be the first LEGO Hospital, appeared in Classic City. These were the days of LEGO, where mini-figs are not "invented" yet. In fact, it begins to conceptualize as there is good evidences shown, which are the faceless and armless mini-figs that are included in this set. Seriously, I do not know what to do with such faceless figures. I had never seen them in my whole life before. Now, back to the hospital structure. I love the bold red and black combination. Certainly looks pleasing to me on its exterior. Brickster, there is no interior for these building, right? I believe such early designs, have plain interior for most of its building concept, especially with the classic small little windows. The ambulance is a simple design, which is quite pleasant looking. Simple and appeasing from its front. What I love most about this set is, the 2 x 2 grey tiles used, to illustrate road paths for the ambulance to parked into the porch. This is a very nice neat little building. I will give it a "4", for its good effort to consider its hospital design and relate it to our daily lives. Furthermore, I request that every members view this set, as a 1975 set, and don't start throwing comments that this set is not up to whatever standards, compared to later sets, or asking where is the helicopter, doors, beds and etc. Please look at it, as the "Founding Hospital" of LEGO Classic Town, which Hospital buildings begin to evolved from there. In addition, such reviews are not easy to come by, when such sets are facing extinction.

You know, I never had any Pirate sets. It's tempting me to bid for all of these! It's an excellent start up if you are intending to get started into Pirates.

Bought a couple of good old LEGO sets from some shops which I frequent visit. 1185 Ninja Raft 1187 Ninja Glider. Now, I have 2 of these each, to increase my Ninja Formation. 4807 Fire Attack, from King Leo series and the classic Forestmen set which is the 6077 Forestmen River Fortress. It's not in good condition, but I intend to restore this second hand set.

Hello all Eurobricks members and Town Lovers, Today, I will be doing up a review on Snorkel Squad, one of the most important and basic vehicle in any Fire Department. Snorkel Squad, in simple english terms, it refers to Fire Engine, fighting fire, always on standby, ready to save the citizens from crisis. Trust me, you will understand why this Snorkel Squad is superb impressive by the end of this review. On a side note, there is only part that is replaced by another color. Can you find the difference? Name: Snorkel Squad Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1987 Pieces: 151 Minifigs: 2 Price: USD$13.50 An image of a 6358, Snorkel Squad Looking smart on their stand-by This snorkel squad is a fanastic fire engine, that is ready to save people from the fires. It's primary color "red" is used in all fire emergency department and vehicles. In case of any emergency, this snorkel squad will be activated and arrived at the scene as soon as possible. No time to waste! Personally, this is the best fire engine that I had ever seen. Meet the Fire Fighters It comes with two brave fire fighters. Both of them wear the standard fire fighter outfit that is present in almost all Fire Station sets in Classic Town. The torso is very nice and formal, and looks real impressive onto them. I love the buttons on them. Furthermore, these white helmets are a symbol to the world of Fire Fighting. These are the people whom save lives by risking their own lives in dangerous situations. Water Hose compartment The water hose is a string that is stored in the front. It can be rolled out, and the fire fighters are able to use it without much difficulty. They will just pull out the hose and spray onto the fire. The next picture, shows a much clearer look in its interior. In addition, the fire logo that is on the compartment, is actually printed. Yes, it's not a sticker, and that is great news for us! Interesting features These clamps on both sides, is supposed to stablise the fire engine when the ladder is heading upwards. It is a simple mechanism, which illustrate clearly what it does. This feature is recently seen in Construction vehicle such as the Mobile Crane. Of course, it is not a complicated feature. It just made use of three quite common white parts. Swivel Mechanism These swivel mechanism, in my opnion are very fun to play with. These connectors on the front and the back, enable the long fire engine, to make sharp turns on any junctions, arriving at the scene fast enough. This is not a fire engine that only travel straight roads. Try it onto your base plates, and you will be surprised, how well it can turn. Best Playable mechanism in 6358 The driver will be activating the ladder at the back of the vehicle. In order, to adjust the height and making sure that the ladder do not fall short, the tiles on the plates are acting like a stoppage. The ladder are able to rotate 360 degree without much problem, if you removed the driver out of the control panel. It goes up as tall as 30cm! Look at that amazing height. Too bad, I have not constructed my Cafe Corner yet. Otherwise, I can give you a better feel of how amazing this baby can go. I used the old road baseplate as a guide, and roughly it can goes as tall as 30 to 35cm. Look at the black hinges below. By shifting it to the last, that was the maximum height it can move. This is a very good way to adjust the height. Oh, and I forget to mention that there are 2 storage compartments for the fighters to place their equipments behind. Quite easy to access. No doors? Apart from the standard roof top on the driver's seat, there is no doors present at both side. I am quite sad to see that there are no doors. Maybe, these fighters are supposed to jump off the seat, instead of opening the doors? Well, I guess this is the only major flaws that I had found in this set. Heading off *Got you* Meet the Model 6358 Fire Engine Summary review Playability: 10/10 (Superb fun. The ladder and swivel mechanism is really very fun to play with.) Design: 9.5/10 (Excellent design. It got an almost full 10. The lack of doors, dropped my ratings slightly.) Price: 8/10 (A very mid range price. I don't think it cost very expensive. But, I am not sure how much it cost now.) Overall: 9.2/10 (Best Fire Engine ever, and one of the great looking one too. Get this model now.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? Hope everyone of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Critics are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated)
