  1. Bonaparte, I support this move. Looking through this topic, you have certainly enforced well enough for Eurobricks to be the community, where proper posting should be considered at all time. I am sure all of us have a basic understanding, certain degree of elementary English. For some countries, English may not be the first language. Let me point out, Eurobricks is not penalizing for your language ability. In fact, Eurobricks reinforce good, causal, simple to understand English in all posts. It can be a few simple sentences. It is alright. If Grammar and punctuations is not adhere, and posting your comments such as Internet chat box, it will annoy the readers, trying to understand what you are trying to type. Why not spend a little bit more effort and type proper English, especially when you are English illiterate? It's never easy to read through unstructured English sentences and will annoy greatly. There are many members whom are keen to find out certain posts or reading some pointers and views. I really hope all of us in Eurobricks, to start posting in proper English structure for easier reading. One sentence of a causal remark, does not contribute to the overall perception on the topic discussion. I am sure there is something more to what you can type instead of a single sentence. Typing a few sentences more or construct it in proper sentence, do not kill casual feeling in Eurobricks. I am sure the creator of the topic, will love to see constructive comments, views, critics, opnions and points. Aren't this a purpose of posting a topic for discussion? If everyone just type a single generic term such as "Cool", "Well done", "Awesome creation". Yes, this are still good comments, but please take note, anyone can just type this and what meaning does it hold? Many will think, especially the creator will defintely wish to probe why you think it is cool, in what way is it well done and what features make you think it is awesome? I am just speaking my mind, and letting you guys how I feel. Thanks. WhiteFang
  2. Metalandi, thanks for doing this Fright Knights review, by opening up a MISB set which you have bought recently. I am very sure the feeling is very nice, especially touching the bricks which is preserved for 11 years sealed in bags. I am quite fond of the Fright Knights theme. Unfortunately, this theme was released during my dark age. I never really bought sets from Fright Knights. Instead, I bought plenty of minifigs to build an army. If I could turn back time or find another MISB set with a reasonable price, I am very sure I will get it. My soldiers need a castle to stay in. I will be looking forward to your next review. Keep up the good job
  3. Pedro, for your first review, you have amaze me with your photo session and the strucutre of your review. I am very impressed by your high quality pictures. You have done an excellent job! I love the Tower Raid very much, as it offers high playability. With the wall and flooring, falling down, when the ram hits the wall, it's quite interesting to play with. The mechanism of the ram is very fun to play with as well. I will try and pull back and released it, to knock a row of soldiers. This is one of my favourite sets in Castle 2008. Well done.
  4. Pedro, thanks for doing up this review by forking out your time and effort to do the write up. The pictures are very clear and good. Personally, I love this set very much, until I bought 12 of these, just to build on my Dwarves and Orcs armies. I love this set very much even though the price is a little bit steep. I like the flow of your review. Keep it up, I will look forward to your next Castle review, if your wife happened to buy any.
  5. DSR, this is another superb clear and precise Star Wars review for the Clone War series. This is the kind of review that have quality, depth and clarity. For your fanastic effort and time to do up a proper review, I thank you for the time taken to contribute it to Eurobricks. Looking at your review, I must admit that you have given me a clear perspective of the Magna Guard mini-fig. I am wondering what is the material made for the head? Is it made up of rubber or sturdy LEGO mold. As for the Starfighter, it looks really very nice looking. However, I will watch the Clone War movies next month, and decide what are the new sets that will be in my Star Wars budget.
  6. Thanks for clearing this up. Glad it was a misunderstanding. There are many posts that are pretty rude, and I can't believe that a member like you whom had joined Eurobricks for more than a year and is a Knight, is posting like he or she had just joined and is out to ruin LEGO. Just be sure, that your account is not in the wrong hands again.
  7. Hello all Eurobricks members and Town Lovers, Today, I will be doing up a review on my one and only Paradisa set in my town collection. Sidewalk Cafe, is not the regular coffee stop such as Starbucks or the grand Cafe Corner. It's supposed to be on the sidewalk beside your regular roads. Sidewalk cafe, does not offer coffee. It offers ice cream! Name: Sidewalk Cafe Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1994 Pieces: 43 Minifigs: 2 Price: USD$7.25 An image of a 6402, Sidewalk Cafe *Ding Ding* Hello! Sidewalk Cafe is the regular ice cream station that locates in beaches, selling cool tasty ice cream in a hot sunny day where you are able to see babes riding on bicycles and etc. This is a very nice simple set, that comes under the Paradisa theme where resorts, beach activities, enterainment comes in. Yes, this set is an excellent addition to any towns for a great ice cream stop in any junctions of your roads, parks, beaches. It can be anywhere in your town to sell ice cream where most citizens will defintely love to have a taste of it. Let's take a better look at them! The red bicycle on your left is a very good alternate transport other than motorcycle. Well, I look red bicycle and it looks very handy for a good outdoor ride in a bright sunny day. The ice cream man looks great in that tight fit wear of his. He certainly looks good in that outfit, especially with that moustache of his. I love the blue lines of his torsos. It really match very well with its blue cap. The hot lady on the right, is one of the best looking female town mini-figures. Her face looks very sweet especially with that sexy outfit. Personally, I love both mini-figures very much, and it's not an expensive set to own the both of them. Great way to expand more citizens in your town, especially increasing your female population in that era. *Can I have a cup of strawberry ice cream?* The set up of the Sidewalk Cafe is pretty simple. With a few pillars and foilage at the back, a small table and an ice cream counter for your customers to select the variety. I must admit that this set offer great expansion. I am sure it's not a common thing to see a "cafe" selling ice cream on the streets. Ice Cream Counter The front of the ice cream counter is made up of sticker. However, that sticker looks real nice. I am quite sure if the sticker is not there, it will not look obvious that it is selling ice cream. Upper view of the Ice Cream Counter There are so many flavours for them to choose from. Sizes can range from small cups to big cups. You can even do it via self service at the counter by pulling the lever. Interesting Parts These parts are very uncommon because it is pink! And for collectors or builders whom are interested in pink elements, these are very good accessories to complement with your buildings or sets. I believe that the most rare and unique parts is the ice cream flavoured tiles. These are not stickers. These are printed tiles and is only available in this Sidewalk Cafe. These tiles looks very nice and is the main attraction why these people wants to visit this outlet. Look at the four delicious flavours! Different views of Sidewalk Cafe Relax yourself, with a cup of ice cream! Summary review Playability: 8.5/10 (Directing your town citizens where the ice cream is, they are sure to enjoy a nice cup) Design: 8.5/10 (Simple design with a low number of bricks, yet able to demostrate great ice cream station) Price: 9.0/10 (An inexpensive set based on the 1994 pricing. It comes with 2 mini-figs. red bicycle and the rare printed ice cream tiles) Overall: 8.6/10 (Which town do not need a Sidewalk Cafe? I think this is a great add on to any town.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? Hope everyone of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Critics are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated)
  8. Thanks for all of your kind words and support! I was thinking, even for an impulse set or small set, it deserved different angles shot. Even though the bricks is limited, I felt it deserved some bit of attention to add on some more nice pictures. Holodoc, I appericate your honest views and towards my evaluation system. Firstly, I must apologise that I am trying to improve the presentation format of the evaluation system. I used 3 critical factors which are playability, design and price. For every score given out of 10, I will give a very brief comment beside it. Playability refer to your imagination and creativity, of what you could do to play with this offical set, without modification or add-on. Trail ranger could allow us to have a new vehicle type in a town. It can be used it for Indiana Jones adventure, Adventurers and Outback, in my opnion, due to its design. Although the design is very simple, but I increase the rating much higher, as I compared it as an Impulse set standards. That's why, my rating for design is slightly higher than playability. As for pricing, this is a very subjective matter, which differ greatly due to currency exchange and inflation. If my rating or final score has any misleading, it will not be very effective as well. Most of the time, I tend not to be too harsh to the sets. Thanks for explaining to me, on how you rated this set. It's nice to know how other members felt, and this is how a review should be, exchanging views and ideas. Thanks Doctor! All my old town sets required heavy cleaning.
  9. JimButcher, finally I had seen something that is worth reading and viewing. IMHO, this is your best Star Wars Review I had ever read. Most importantly, it is a complete review which has substance. You have my thanks! Keep up the good job Back to the RGS, this is the next Star Wars set I will be getting. I can't wait to lay my hands on this set, and start building. Basically, how bad this set can be, it can't be worse. Republic Gunship is one of the all-time favourites, in Star Wars Prequel and OT. I can't find any faults, except being too expensive due to the licence cost. In addition, the mini-figs are the next big thing. Seriously, I am quite impressed with it. On the down side, my rating will go up if there is an additional Clone Trooper instead of one. Nevertheless, this is a "MUST GET" set, no matter what!
  10. Brickster, thank you so much for fufilling my request. With these new picture, you added a lot more different perspectives, and more points added to this outstanding vintage playset. 580 Brickyard have so much playability. I am very surprised that TLG had actually considered the design considerations very well, especially on the green baseplate where the dump truck is exiting. The crane portion is fanastic. I really can't noticed its track, and the attachment that moved the crane up and down. It is really interesting to see their designs back then. These printed Legoland bricks are simply so lovely! I just can't take my eyes off this set. Once again Brickster, you have really impressed me with such vivid pictures, that makes me look at it again and again.
  11. Staudie, that is an amazing fast interview! I am glad you have pulled Phes, to get an interview going. Really very nice, it's certainly looks very different, by using the "live" version. Keep up the good interviews. Phes, it's nice to know a little more about you. Classic Pirates.
  12. This is the EB News Interview which had done, for ImperialShadows, dated 31st December 2007. 2007-12-31 imperialshadows Edit: This is the interview done for Sir Nadroj/aka Jordan. Read more in the following link. 2008-03-11 Sir Nadroj For members whom are keen to know whom are the members being interviewed, please refer to the EB Interview Index. Thanks
  13. Your review is doing "just" to this set, by keeping it in such excellent condition and present it to us. There is not many such vintage reviews around that are "prehistoric". (Guess, I am stuck with using this term for sets that are 1979 and below. ) Yet, you had spend tremendous amount of time, to restore and re-built. For such outstanding effort, I thank you from my bottom of my heart! I hope I will have a chance to visit any of the Legoland. It's one of my dream vacation to visit such places. I always think that they will offer old/out of production sets, for sales. Guess, this is just my perception. The feeling of viewing the old sets in the displays, must have let you overwhelmed with tons of childhood memories at that time. Their construction, design and building techinque is way different from any current sets that are released after 1980s. You are looking at more and more newer parts, that can be used to expand your creativity as well. At that same cost of it, the very old parts which we used to love is diminishing by the years. That's what I have in mind! That is indeed a clever techinque. I had never noticed that feature. I thought it was able to detach itself easily or fall off. Thanks for highlighting it. You are very lucky to have preserve 2 of the wonderful construction sets in such excellent condition. I don't have any of the construction sets, that can illustrate a site working area. I am sure it's very fun to play with, otherwise I will have to bring all of my construction vehicles to do a mock-up construction scene. Thank you in advance! I will love to see the back as well. I am not sure, but I think it's a good idea. I thought the definition of Classic, was sets that are belonged to the "Golden Age" of LEGO, which was mostly are in early 1980s. I just felt the term"Vintage" suited well for these prehistoric sets.
  14. Sandy, your characters' summary is done very well, for readers to have a quick background introduction on your characters. I must admit, this is a good piece of resource, attached to "Princess Quest". Somehow, the format reminded me of the EBRP Character thread. I will be looking forward to your new addition of your characters as well as the story plot development. With this summary in mind, readers will have a much clearer picture. Keep up the good work!
  15. Yloquen, welcome to Eurobricks! Don't mind, if you could leave an opening of yourself in the "Introduction Forum", so everyone will have a chance to get to know a little more about you. Dragonator is our EB Resident, number one critic on Dragon stuff. He gets rather excited when he see Dragon related topics. I must admit that you have done a very good layout. I am wondering if you had made use of any publication software such as Pagemaker, InDesign or Freehand. I am very pleased by your structure appeal. It's very well done. As for the content, regarding about medival fanastay related stuff, there is no definite right or wrong answer. Maybe, a generic content will be sufficient to everyone's understanding. It's involved in your imagination and your world/recalm that you define. You might find EBRP, very interesting as well, where role playing will be involved by using story writing and abit of pictures to illustrate your story plot. I am sure you will find EB a fun and pleasant place to be in. WhiteFang
  16. Hinckley, these are some of the EB News Interview, which Staudie and ImperialShadows had done for the past 2 months plus. 2008-06-05 Holodoc 2008-06-13 WhiteFang 2008-07-28 Deinonychus It seemed we will have to increase the interview frequency.
  17. Location: K13 (Dining Hall, Neb Monastery, base of Mount Sophia, Odessa region of Black Knights Kingdom) Lord Kenneth stood up and turned to the rest and said “All of you, we had been together so far. I must request that from this very moment on, it will be an expedition with unknown dangers lurking around. Our lives will definitely be in danger, with the Black Wraith Demons lurking in our Kingdom. For one cause, to seek the remaining six Priests will not be an easy feat, to unite the holy power. There will be many dangers ahead of us. I will like to seek a common stand that we are in this together. What said you guys?” Flynt lifted his sword, and placed it on the floor “My Lord, as a member of the Imperial Guards, it’s my duty to defend my Kingdom when it’s in danger. Cecil stood up, “Now, Siloux is gone. I am not sure if this is the kind of adventure I will want. However, I am very sure that Siloux will want me to stay on with all of you, and continue this expedition. Lord Kenneth, you have my bow.” Grandoth stood up and said “I am not a regular adventure guys whom love to kick bad guys. I just can’t stand the sight of them. Well, Aluvar is not around with me, and my instinct tells me that we should continue together as a team.” Bluervo squawked “Same for me, Lord Kenneth, it’s had been great fun to travel with all of you. My wise words will come in handy for you.” Lord Kenneth walked towards Princess Diana and asked “Princess, will you join us in this expedition?” Princess Diana sighed and controlled her emotions, knowing the fact that Siloux is gone. She stood strongly and said “Yes, we will accomplish together. There will be no obstacles that could obstruct us. We shall drive the evil to the corner of the earth.” With a determined cheers sounding in the hall, Lord Kenneth managed to unite the hearts of everyone, hoping to be the leader that he could aspire to bring different individuals together as one.
  18. Brickster, this is a real vintage set that is released in 1975! Counting the years back, you have done an excellent job in preserving such sets in an excellent condition. It's not going to be very easy to see such vivid and good quality images. Outstanding effort! 580 Brick Yard set, is a prehistoric set which spins off the construction theme. Look at how things changed and evolved over time. Taking into consideration that this set is created in a mini-fig less society, this is actually a very fun playset for kids to play with construction vehicles. For me, part of my play scenes are construction related, back in my childhood days. The vehicles are very sweet and lovely. I understand most of the members do not know how to merge such sets into any existing sets/concepts/tabletop and etc that is after 1980s. Yes, I must admit it's hard. If you think back carefully, don't you think these vehicles could be used as a musuem for our Classic Town citizens? The crane is nicely sitted on the blue rails, but does it fall off easily if you touched it? I believe there is no hinges or tracks for it. Come to think of it, you could just take it off from above, and used it for another loader. What I love about this building is the yellow facade and its conveyor belt which you can just roll bricks from above to below. It is so much fun. I can simply imagine myself turning the wheel. This is a very wonderful set that could not be seen anymore. My final verdict, a full "5".
  19. Staudie, you are finally back from your long summer break! Hope you have prepared more EB News/Reviews for us as well. It's nice to know more on Deino, another great Fellow in EB! By the way, could you tone down the colors a little bit? It seemed a little too bright. Shadows, hope things are going well for you too. I will be looking forward to your return.
  20. welcome to Eurobricks! It's nice to see another castle fan! Will be looking forward to your comic as well! Meanwhile, enjoy your stay with us.
  21. Dragonator, welcome back! I am sorry to hear that you had fallen sick. Recover soon, and may you rise to be the mighty dragon again! Will be looking forward to Day 9, and the voting as well!
  22. This is certainly not your usual typical pirates submission or MOC. In fact, Blue Dolphin has make a very unique army. This is the first time, I had ever seen a Dolphin army, going for a quick assault onto its enemies. This is an outstanding imaginative army, that works very well for any fantasy theme, which involved in magic. Somehow, it reminded me of Poseidon and Atlantis. Excellent job!
  23. Blue Dolphin, your 5 Dark Knights is superb wicked, emitting dark aura surrounding treacherous land, eliminating your Dark Lord's nemeses. At first, I thought how did you manage to give me the special feeling of their weapons and gears. I re-read the entire topic, and I noticed that you have re-painted the entire layout. It looks very cool and amazing! For your customisation effort, it can be this, I enjoyed viewing this piece of outstanding work, and glad to see such good quality customisation. Thanks for sharing this. By the way, are you part of HKLUG?
  24. Opps, my vehicle had gone through a terrible sandstorm earlier, and was not in time for the car wash before taking its exhibition shots. I always used this set, as a patrol car. And now, this set is part of my Indiana Jones companions. Although the face of the driver looks odd when you compared against these fleshies, but I always thought of this vehicle using as an "Outback" as well.
  25. Guys, thanks for all your great comments! Yes, the "extended length" of the ladder provides great playability! Thanks K.D. I owned the 2007 Fire Engine as well, as this set was not restored back then, and I needed a Fire Engine very badly. I managed to restored it somehow, and I compared it with the 2007. The older design is still the best. Yes, this is an interesting finding. I remembered when I was a child. That robot arms always come out of its own, when I fiddle with it. I was so annoyed by it and I just kept it there whenever I deployed it for rescue missions. Grevious, I appericate your honest comments, and given me your insight towards this set, and state a comparison as well. I agreed with you, that Fire Engines need to be big and sturdy. On the other hand, it can be nice to have the fire engine to look slim as well, to cut through the traffic easily. I am not against with the newer sets. It just that, part of the reasons which reflected in the review had fufill the basic key factors of a typical Fire Engine. In addition, it was my all-time favourite under the "Fire-Fighting" theme.
