Opps, forget to look here as well. Happy Belated Birthday Wout! Better late than never, right?

rriggs, thanks for clearing it up. Actually, I did not check it with the dictionary. Thanks for giving a clear definition for "paramedic".

This is a very "small" fire engine, compared to the rest of the fire engine models. This is a nice little set, that can be used to match with the 590 Fire Station. The design is nice, but I am not really fond of the overall package. Because it is not able to house the driver at the front especially when it included a mini-fig for it. The hose is a very nice feature, and is kept safely behind the grey window shutters. I couldn't give a very high rating for it, unlike other vintage sets. I could only give it a "3". It is good to have, for completeness to match with the entire fire fighting theme back in the 70s. Brickster, thanks for this another lovely review.

A vintage Fire Station review, that is 30 years old this year. Indeed, this is the first Fire Station with mini-figs which is produced in 1978. For a LEGO set, that is produced so many decades back. It is a very impressive set, by my standards. The fire vehicles are great to cruise around, to make sure that our town are safe and always ready for any emergency. The fire engine ladder, is simply so lovely. The ladder is a pretty nice part. I never expected their torsos to be sticker. I thought they are printed though. However, the helmet is cool. I believe, we only receive white fire helmets in most of the fire station sets. A fire station that make use of hinges to open its interior is a good design. I miss such good designs consideration. The doors to the gates are a nice addition. Can I ask you something? Can the fire engine and the other safety rover be parked into the building nicely, without bumping the gates? If this set comes along with floor tiles to cover the studs on the green baseplate, for the vehicles to come in and out. That will be another lovely feature. Personally, I love this set very much. By 1978 standard, the first fire station with mini-figs is the milestone for all Fire Station designs that is evolving and improving, even till the very moment. I give this a "5". Thanks Brickster, once again and again!

This is a very nice MOC! The overall building is nicely layout. The small hill is really very nice, and I find that the yellow bricks, to illustrate a sandy beach. It certainly pass the message well across. The steps, up to the hill, is done in a very neat manner. Perhaps, too neat and well arranged. It will be even better to add in moregrass or green by the side of the stairs to show a much messy look. For your first attempt on your SNOT building. It's really very good by showing one of the Islander, hunting for fishes. Using the koi, is a smart move to illustrate the fish jumping out of the river. The volcano looks abit small, and dormant. It looks like a fire pond. I am not saying it does not look nice. In fact, I find it very well design, to punish trespassers, by forcing them to jump into hot larva. Thanks for sharing.

Mystery Castle - Building Challenge Discussion
WhiteFang replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Geez, I was eating my dinner, when I was reading your entry. However, it's another great entry to be added into the Challenge. I believed I am part of the collection below. -
Let me give you abit of advice, on these both sets. Before you decide to purchase between both sets, I believe you have an answer/decision deep within your heart. It does not matter how or what others think. It matters what you really think. Our opnions do not matter most. Most importantly, it's your own opnion that matters. If you are seeking opnions, I will advice to get both sets if possible. Why is that so? Because I will get it for "completeness". If I ever decide to focus onto one particular theme or sub-theme, I must make sure I will complete the entire series. It's a weird habit of mine. I just love my LEGO to be in complete series. Coast Guard sets are pretty good, and fun to play with. Able to match in very well, with any LEGO Town, that has a harbour, marina and beach. We need Coast Guards to make sure they are in safe hands. If I have to really make a choice, I will choose the 7738, Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft. The helicopter is the main highlight. It is a big helicopter with a very wide cockpit, with 2 mini-figs sitting at the navigation controls. Furthermore, the lift raft is an unique design. You don't always see a heavy duty helicopter circling around. I had seen the actual set, and it looks real sturdy and good for display. On the other hand, the 7726, Coast Guard Truck with Speed Boat is pretty common. I had seen quite alot of speedboats. Although, it looks much sleek, but I feel that the helicopter has the better advantage. What I like about this set, is the doors and its equipment loaded at the back of the truck. To conculde, whatever you choose to buy. It's your decision. Above are just my honest opnions. I hope it will be of help to you in any form.

Location: K13 (Dining Hall, Neb Monastery, base of Mount Sophia, Odessa region of Black Knights Kingdom) Erik looked at everyone and said “Let me introduced him officially. He is Aarand Blakemore, the third member of Symbol of the Nine. He was actually living up in Mount Sophia. I had informed one of my healers to summon him to the hall.” Aarand added “Indeed, my friends. Erik and Adrick had explained the situation to me, and I will definitely assist all of you.” Flynt looked around and said “Now, there are six more members for us to gather. Where can we start finding them?” Erik replied “I will reveal the location of 2 members that is near to our vicinity.” Erik walked forward and handed a scroll to Lord Kenneth and said “Keep this scroll safe. It will reveal the names of the fourth and fifth members. This scroll, will act as a proof that this order is valid, for us to reunite again. Furthermore, the rest of the members may have weird tempers, and claim not to interfere with world matters anymore.” Lord Kenneth stared at the scroll and keeps it safe “Rest assured. We will find them and reunite all of you, sending the demons back into oblivion.” Erik pointed to Bluervo “Bluervo will be useful to sniff out the rest, and guide all of you.” Bluervo squawked “Oh great, now I will have more work to do.” Adrick chuckled “Bluervo, you are a talented parrot that is trained by Aluvar. You are a smart one.” Bluervo circled around them, and was left in deep thoughts. Princess Diana did not participate in the discussion, and was thinking why Siloux had left. Erik moved towards Princess Diana and said “Be strong, my Princess. Lord Kenneth and the rest need your power.” She controlled her emotions and pulled herself up. She did not mutter a word, and stood behind.” Lord Kenneth turned to the three priests and asked “Is anyone of you joining us? Adrick showed a disappointing look and said “I must apologies. None of us will be travelling with you. We must make preparations in Neb Monastery, for the upcoming invasion.” The rest of them felt stress and tension was formed in the rest of their minds. They do not know if they are able to accomplish this mission or not.

Thanks for pointing it out. Finally, I had realised where is that mistake. Don't be confused, I am the one whom placed it wrong. It was an honest 20 years mistake.

I had never seen this set or this theme before. It was released during my dark age, and I had missed it. It's nice to see such sets, surface once again, to educate members like me that there are some good sets we had missed during the dark age. And, I must admit that this is a very good set. It's comes with 3 mini-figs and Staudie with it. Geez, I never thought he was an astronaunt back then. The testing facility is great, and I love to see it spin, by putting Staudie in it for a "test-run". The buggy is cute as well, but somehow, I don't really like the white frame at the back. It looked a little odd to me. The tools, are simply wonderful to have. Furthermore, these are grey tools. The last time, we had so many tools are the aeroplane mechanic. The shuttle is nice, but does the shuttle supposed to come with a cover as well? I guess, since this is a simulator, they must have cut down the budget for it. The control room is good, and it will be even better with chairs included. metalandi, thanks for the wonderful review!

Lasse D, are you asking why is my mini-fig arms upside down?? I can't find the small button you are referring to? Could you point it to me? Thanks.

This is one lovely dump truck, with yellow as its principal color. I have no major complains on this set, and I agreed with you that this is a great addition to any LEGO Town. However, if the driver seat comes with a cover, it will look much more complete. The yellow big bin, doors are the plus factors for this set. Without these design factors in place, it will not be as lovely as it should be. Furthermore, if I remembered correctly, I am quite sure that the dump truck make used of hinges that is used as a form of pivot in these sets, to create playablity. Although the driver seat comes without a cover, but the overall design makes up for it. Taking into consideration that this set is produced in 1980, I am very impressed by it. Therefore, I gave it a final "5". Thanks Brickset for all of the classic reviews!

Paramedic Unit, does not seem to suit well for this set's name. It should be named as Clinic, Outpatient Treatment, Family Doctor and etc. From what I understand, Parmedic unit, is a stand-alone unit, that is on standby, 24/7, ready for any emergency rescue in LEGO Town. Ambulance, with a group of paramedics will be ideal for this kind of situation. I love female doctors, especially with that lovely hairpiece! The cruiser, is a neat 4-studs wide design. Just love these small car designs back then. I wonder what can be used at the back of its boot. The clinic is neat. Maybe, we can send Holodoc for some medical audit, to make sure that this clinic is up to standard. What surprised me the most, is the neat little eye chart. You don't see such details in any regular LEGO set. The red and white color combination for the building, works well for me. Most of the hospital buildings and vehicles, always revolved in red and white. I gave this a "4" Thanks you so much, Brickster!

Thanks for all of your encouraging comments! I am glad most of you love to view our classic reviews. Do stay out for more upcoming exciting classic town reviews! I appericiate greatly by all of your words. There are many outstanding reviews from Brickster as well, especially those classic vintage LEGO sets, that I had never seen before, except browsing it in Brickset. Therefore, I will encourage EB Members, to take some time off to view these truly wonderful classic reviews. Trust me, it shall be an eye opening experience for each and everyone of you, whom had never seen Classic Town, in such an up close personal experience before. The torso is just lovely! I felt the 6641, 4 Wheelin Truck is almost identical with the torso, except for the front color combination. Click onto the picture for an instant review. Yes, that cute pizza van appeared for a reason.

Nice review! This is just the "Crown Jewel" for the Coast Guard theme. I love the layout of its platform. It looks real neat to have it placed it in the midst of the deep blue sea, awaiting of any emergency rescue. Sometimes, I feel that this set can used it to merge with my Aqua Raiders sets. I thought of using it as a land base, for the raiders to dock in their stuff before submerge into the ocean. Ok, it's just a wierd idea of mine. Just feel that Aqua Raiders and Coast Guard can work hand in hand, since they are naval expertise! It seemed, I can't view all the pictures somehow. Nevertheless, I can still view some of it quite well. I love the command center. The amount of computer printed pieces simply make me smile, with the monitor, keyboard, radar screen and etc. The helicopter is cute too. However, I pity the victim that is loaded at the back. It seemed a little bit too dangerous. In addition, this set seemed to have quite alot of stickers, which can be quite discouraging. I do hope to see this set soon. So far, I quite like the Current Coast Guard sets.

CVSPIS CELIDVS, thanks for showing us the origin of this outstanding showcase. This Black Pearl is amazing, by the sheer scale of it. This is an incredible ship, that will strike fear among the enemies in the high sea. Simply love these brown parts!

Hello all Eurobricks members and Town Lovers, Today, I will be doing up a review on Hook & Haul Wrecker. This name is quite wierd to me. I will prefer to call it the regular tow truck. This is one of the service and repair vehicle that are always ready 24/7 on stand-by for any emergency towing in our towns. Name: Hook & Haul Wrecker Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1989 Pieces: 44 Minifigs: 1 Price: USD$6.00 An image of a 6660, Hook & Haul Wrecker Let the towing begins Hook & Haul Wrecker is the typical 4-studs wide vehicle that takes care of broken vehicles that is left stranded on the roads. This tow truck is pretty useful. As you can see, current City sets hardly have any tow trucks available to tow new cars design. This tow truck is catered for 4-studs vehicles for Classic Town. Can you imagine yourself this truck towing a Speed Racer car? I think it looks really out of proportion. In addition, the mini-fig which is included in this set has the regular truck print on its torso. I am very sure they must be a fan club for "Trucks". Otherwise, they should really need a change of clothes. Nevertheless, in my honest opnion. I really love this torso very much. Somehow, it makes them look tough even though their face looks very friendly. Side View This vehicle has a combination of two primary colors which is white and red. This color combination looks very good. You cannot mistook it for an ambulance since they made use of this two colors too, in most Emergency vehicles. This is my guess, I supposed the designer will have tow truck concept as a form of emergency and considered red and white as its combinations. This vehicle set-up has the typical sun-screen on the top of the vehicle frame. However, this baby has more unique features installed in it. These are the source of its brutal strength All-Terrain Vehicle??? This tow truck equipped with the best wheels. In fact, these wheels offer suspension on the roads. Even when its travelling uphill, the truck will move accordingly with its tyres. When you act pressure on the top of the vehicle, it will either be shifted leftwards or rightwards. Close-up of these unique tyres Take a careful look. These wheels have springs installed in it. That is the magic of these vehicle and is defintely suited to run on any rough roads with least problems. If any EB Members know which other vehicles has this unique features, please highlight it to me. Because, if I remembered correctly. I only remember seeing this pair of tyres in this great set. He is ready for some serious towing. The driver had finished hook up the pizza van on its back. It's pretty simple. You just have to lift the back of the vehicle and placed it onto the hook. Presto, the van is ready to go. This vehicle provides so much fun. You can really tow any 4-studs vehicle in your town. And, here we go! To the service station. Poor pizza guy. Summary review Playability: 10/10 (Superb fun. You will love to use this truck and tow any vehicles) Design: 9.5/10 (Excellent design. Especially with the use of the suspension tyres) Price: 9/10 (An inexpensive set based on the 1989 pricing. This set is made up of less than 100 pieces) Overall: 9.5/10 (Every Town must need a tow truck. If a vehicle breaks down, whom will be ready to tow?) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? Hope everyone of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Critics are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated)

Thanks for the wonderful review. The new Star War sets, are too steep. I don't think I am able to afford most of these upcoming sets. As for the starfighter's design, it looks real sturdy. I am very curious of the Magna Guards mini-fig. The fig looks very interesting especially the robe.

Sinner, I totally agreed with you! This is so beautiful and sleek with its SNOT Technique. Most importantly, it's almost identical with the movie version. I always enjoyed Aliens the best(among the 4 movies). This APC, is so amazing. Now, where can I find the dropship? What really amazed me is not just the exterior, but the interior as well especially with its command center! Great find, Sinner.

If you need to seek opnions in what to buy, looking through reviews will be very good reference for you. There are many members in EB, contributing reviews at a regular basis, especially on recent sets. You can take a look at the index which was created by ImperialShadows, in Licensed Theme forum. These are the reviews, on sets which you are intend to choose. 7621: Lost Tomb Review 1 and Review 2 7625 River Chase Review 1 and Review 2 These are all very good reviews. Hope this could help you. Just to give my 2 cents worth of choosing sets. Other people opnions does not really matter. It matters whether you like it at all. Others may like it, and you buy something based on others advice. When you bought it, and bring it home to build. You start to think, "Is this what I really want?" Personally, you buy and build LEGO is based on your personal preference, and not others. It's not very important on what others think. It most important to know what you really "think" and "feel". After all, it's your own money. Don't be easily swayed by others.

DNL, excellent piece of Castle work! I had always watched out for your Castle MOCs, and without fail this certainly impressed me very much! The size of the castle is massive and wonderful, filled with different sections in your castle compound. The landscaping is beautiful as well. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The Indian Family sure looks very good and nice especially with the two little children playing around the mini-totem. I must thanks for your effort, to present your "Wild West minifig show". These are some great introduction for members like me whom is not so familar with Wild West. Good job, K.D I had given both my ratings as "2".
-
Yes, there are very fun to build with such little parts, and presented in such a detailed manner. I love how the bulldozer swivel around and lifting the digger bucket up and down. It will be nice to include a shovel for the construction mini-fig. It will be even better if its torso is printed as well. In some of the earlier sets such as 6383 Public Works Center, Gravel Yard. has 4 construction workers with printed torsos. Congrats Brickster! You are the second person whom had spotted the missing piece! At first, I thought you are refering to the shovel as the missing piece instead. I think in most countries inculuding mine, all construction vehicles are yellow in color.

Have a great day, Ralph! Happy Birthday! Chill out and have some beer.
