  1. I love the flat car: it looks very realistic. Just one question, what kind of bracket do you use for the sides?
  2. As always: setting the standard in near perfection  . I actually had to look hard to find differences with the pictures I found of the original(s). Did you modify the BBB wheels for the tender? It seems as if the middle ones are flangeless.
  3. Category A 1. Hrw-Amen - 1 4. Locomotive Annie - 2 9. Spitfire2865 - 2 Category B 13. Haddock51 - 1 14. Electricsteam - 3 15. Locomotive Annie - 1
  4. I would, if one could get BBB 4XL drivers As far as I can tell, the wheels would be around 7-8 studs in diametre...
  5. One word: amazing.
  6. Could it be the French Classifiction 1-2-1counted by axles meaning 2-4-2 counted by wheels. Or even UIC: 1B1... Thinking of which, what is the actual wheel dispostion of the monorail Locomotive Annie shows? As far as I can tell it could be 21-1-21; the first 21 being: driver on top and casters on bottom...
  7. Beautiful. I really love the way you solved the front truck problem.
  8. I tend to use the 88000 battery box with rechargables. I have also converted a PF cable to use 2 cell lipos used in RC planes (coupled with a bit of cicuit that complains if voltage goes too low) That way one is not forced limited to the 4x8x4 form factor. I have seen no real differences between recharcheable batteries and 2cell lipos...
  9. Beautiful MOC. How do the doors open?
  10. If I understand what I am seeing, there is no IR receiver. Am I right?
  11. I discovered that using the wheels without rubber gives a more realistic start: the wheels slip a bit at first and the engine slowly starts moving...
  12. Really looks good. Looking forward to the tender's completion...
  13. I remember seeing a shunting loc by lego 12 volts that is using a worm gear to go very slowly... It is not the same gearing as yours, but in the end achieves the same purpose: low speed and high torque.
  14. Indeed, it looks better: your MOC is a true model.
  15. Wow, I just had a look at actual photos, you captured the esence of aV60. As Lego Train 12 Volts said, with zephyr's rods, it will be just amazing.
  16. Good looking cars . Just a question: what is the width for the coal cars. From what I can see it seems to be 7studs. Am I right?
  17. Just beautiful . The only thing that is missing is a few freight cars...
  18. Very nice train. I'm wondering where the motor is. In the brown car perhaps? Looks a lot like a stub switch. The "points" are not pointy and it seems the whole thing moves.
  19. The LDD was good looking, but the real thing is even better. Makes me want to try building a mineral wagon on a somehow wider basis (my trains are in the 7-8 studs range for witdh).
  20. Nice . The fake wheels are a nice touch. I can't wait to see the decoupler in action...
  21. Yes! Basically the maximum rpm depends linearily on the input voltage which slowly drops when the batteries become discharged. For a very detailed study on lego motors see philo's motor comparision page.
  22. When I first saw the MOC I said nice! But, then I saw the photo of the real life engine and I said wow! You captured the stripes really well. What could make your engine look even better is using the orange train baseplate that has just appeared with the Horizon Express..
  23. Not that much of a flop as a failure to be a astounding success... It was basically adequate. I would vote for any of the two garratts. One could simplify them by leaving out the front/rear bogies...
  24. I made the same mistake. Use brickshelf, flikr or any other photo-sharing web site to publish your photos and then link to them using the image button...
