i, for one, am quiet happy that it's not a raised baseplate. :-$

this should be fun to watch 8-

a moc without pics is not particularly attractive on the internet... next time wait with your announcement untill your pics are ready... ;-)

What does Lego consider "medium grey"?
snefroe replied to Starwars4J's topic in General LEGO Discussion
well to my knoledge they're no longer producing 'dark gray' parts, so this particular part probably is an exception anyway -
after your first 'click', do you get an error saying 'cannot find server' or something? i have that problem as well... i think it's a network thing, but then, all my other websites work fine... *wacko*
-
thanks *sweet* that's the idea. as soon as i have the time to create such a boat :-$
-
hm... I don't really see your point. sure, it is true that many teenagers want other stuff instead of Lego, but to my knoledge, they're trying to steal games, clothes,... as well...
-
i don't think this part is a 'big ugly piece', really. for one thing: you can easily use this in a moc and turn it into something great. 'Big ugly pieces', to me anyway, also have to be useless, no good for anything but the crappy parts bag. I'm sure the wing of the large plane should be in there... but the bag's too small :-X :-P i guess the best thing to deal with these parts is to use it as a start for a moc and just build around it, see what your creativity comes up with...

let me guess... a sw fan :-| ? if you're sick of this thread, then don't read it... besides, compared to all the critical stuff we've written in the past about too many police stations, not enough town essentials, lack of decent themes next to viking,... i'd say we've been rather kind to sw... *sad*

i got 6199 when I got out of my dark age and wanted to buy every old set I could possibly find at that point. It's not really a highlight in any Lego collection... i'm still thinking of buying the other one. the doors look very nice but i never was a fan of these underwater themes.

well in this case, i'd say it's a typical situation every kid find himself in at some point: mom and dad do not want to give you money to buy Lego for whatever reason; Normally it leads to you being very angry at mom and dad, but that's it... it seems this girl thought of a different way...
-
yeah... i was keeping an eye on this guy as well, but all sorts of reasons told me not to start to bid on his sets, one thing would be that I'd probably spend too much money :-X for now, i'll just buy used stuff , even though i did pick up this MISB set last week... but then, that was only 2.5 euro or something...
-
800 euro! outch... i'm aware of the fact that the old trains are really, really popular, but g... btw, this went for 100 euro; MISB; last week that one went for about 45... :-X
-
true... *sweet* it seems to me that non-MISB sets, even the popular ones, like yellow castle, are less expensive these days than a year or more ago... not so long ago i saw a Galaxy Explorer with the box for only 50 euro on ebay; a space monorail for the same price...
-
hm... only 130euro...g... that's as high as a regular ISD in Belgium... not pretty much, if you're asking me... damn! maybe I should have placed a bid :-X

happy birthday, my Lord. hope you kill lots of rebels today...

i'm afraid many of us, early Lego fans, went through the same kind of experience, so you're not alone! :'-) I can't remember very well what my first set was, but I think, and this will not surprise you, I think these two space sets were the first: 442 462 I don't know anymore which one i opened first. considering the fact that I got them for my birthday, and were probably wrapped in paper, i'd say the one with the largest box... :-P
-
ouch the prototype was better... I can't remember when Lego built the last decent base, to be honest...
-
i'm afraid jon is no longer visiting these boards anymore... :'-( :'-) :-X his Dark Age suddenly fell upon him, like a thief in the night... 8-| In fact, it was really weird, one moment this guy was chasing Belville stuff in Windsor at the event, and the next, he was gone, disappeared from the face of the earth.. :'-) :'-( :-X oh well ... happy birthday Jon, in case you're still lurking from time to time :-$

you guys have obviously not seen Belgian prisons then! not so long ago one of the prisoners escaped because he told the guards he was a visitor, not a prisoner... they for some reason didn't have a way to state his identity... so he was allowed to leave... :-P really, true! not long there after, this guy with a fantastic record of escaping from prisons asked to be set free for the weekend, but he promised to be back on Monday. All experts said 'no', the minister said 'yeah, sure'; so he left for the weekend... you think he ever got back, next Monday morning? :-X a month ago, 28 people, yes, 28 people , escaped, they're still looking for most of them, one they've just caught in Italy, I think... any one else seen a Belgian criminal? 8-|

well actually, it's amazing how successfull the sw line still is. old and new (but opened) sets are really hot even on the secondary market (the market where people buy/sell used sets). but to be honest, sw has always had the most attention from the Lego group in terms of box art and set design. So maybe it's not that difficult to see why people love these sets...

well if it's an official Lego shop i'd expect them to have most of their entire online catalogue and maybe some special deals and a pab. don't they have pictures of the shop on the official website?
-
he probably should have gone for a fire truck instead of a tank, and i guess it's a little bit too difficult to grasp for a child, but they're great! 8-
-
i'm not so sure you can use that here because the things you need to remove are extremely detailed and small. i think you'd damage the drawings you do not want to remove as well.

this is a great castle! 8-
