  3. thanks for the info! :-) I can surely use this...
  4. sure it's nice, but nobody's gonna buy this at that price. maybe for 500 or so... :-|
  5. no TT, if you wanna sing, just do so... but... not here... some place far away... like... like Scandinavia! yeah! :-P

  7. g... those space logos still look fantastic! 8-
  8. it was before your time here on these boards :-D
  9. g... not even MISB... all i can say is this: I should have bought every set at least twice when I was young and I should have brought all double sets to a vault in a bank with clear instructions for the bank manager not to alow me to open the vault untill after the end of my dark age... :-P
  10. weeeeeell... it looks kinda weird to me... it seems to me that the builder just wanted to add as many differently shaped towers as possible...
  11. i found this set in a shop two weeks ago, but without the box... I thought of buying it, but in the end didn't. btw, Phes, wasn't this the set you were still missing? it seems you have it after all...
  12. great review! maybe i'll buy this set when it's available, but something tells me i 'll have to be fast :-P :-X the cockpit needs some serious modding! :-/ btw, what ever happened to the fallen rebel? did he make it? :-P
  13. he's back! yep, he is!! :-P i believe he wanted about 1500 euro last time, now he only wants 813 euro! :-X hm... nope. still too high for me... :-X X-O :-X
  14. i believe that's already announced somewhere |-/
  15. the version of 6932 (the first model you see) is quite nice, but i guess it's the over all design of the model that makes it look good in any color combination
  16. i thought about posting this yesterday, because, it just gives me such a positive vibe; sure, yellow walls are not really prefered by castle builders, but this one really reminds me of the good old days.
  17. - don't forget, Lego's main market is Europe. Many pirate fans are between 10-15 years old but do not know enough English to step on board... -i don't know if they're willing to talk. the fact that they are not here, gives you the answer i guess. The 3 guys i know have never shown any interest in doing so... They're also not dealing with Lego on a daily basis, they're buying sets when they feel like it, but they have a normal family life. In any case, I have never seen a moc of them...
  18. I know a few. i'm certain that the number of Lego pirate fans on these boards is just a fraction of people who are buying pirate sets Many collectors prefer not to communicate through the forums with others because they don't see the need or because they don't have Internet. They're not interested in a Lego community. They've stopped looking at it as "a toy", so may not feel comfortable being here, where Lego still is considered a toy... they most likely do not build stuff, they just collect MISB sets... they're involved in Lego sets but not in the same way as most people here...
  19. What is happening is that many collectors prefer anonymity; They don't post, maybe they don't even surf the internet for pirate forums... I also don't know how many collectors there are in the world who are interested in MISB sets.
  20. they look pretty nice! can an admin put these on the mainpage? looks like we have a scoop! 8-
  21. great review Kim! 8-
  22. you know, it's this type of post that will get you into the torture chamber... or worse... banned >:-( consider this to be a warning...
  23. well that probably wouldn't improve things. they'd give it a new number, marking them as a "rerelease" of the original
  24. i think it's solved... i haven't gotten any errors for the last 20 minutes, so it's ok again... thanks, in case you guys were responsable :-$ if not... oh well... X-D
  25. first, I think there still are many 1000's of MISB pirate sets. Lego produced these things in millions, so no worries. Furthermore, many collectors are selling collections as well. You just have to set up a network of contacts in the Lego community, build a few friendships here and there. The only difficult thing is having enough money to buy the stuff when they offer it :-D i don't think I actually have MISB pirate sets, but if i did, I probably wouldn't open them, but get a used version. Still, I think a set could be seen as a good old bottle of French wine: you keep it, treasure it for a while and open it on a very special occasion.
