  1. :-P :-P nice one Mike
  2. hm... compared to ... let's say... scuba diving in the mediterranean? :-P
  3. maybe, brand new, or pretty old, Pirate mod, you should just close the topic all together :-D
  4. the best shop would be the legoshop in Kingston, but that's not actually in the city of London; for that one, I'd say check the Lego website; if you need to persuade a girlfriend, wife, any female... it's in a big shopping mall :-P
  5. Nostradamus i think it's crap, really, but hey, that 's just me talking X-D
  6. yeah it is ugly. the engine section is really not good. also, the section between the cockpit and the mid section is dreadfull. nope, back to the drawing boards with this one
  7. maybe you wanna try this company: Lego.com :-P
  8. from Mod to Mod :-D , a mod doesn't really have to do all that much. ok... space may not be the busiest EB-corner around, but seriously, the Pirates section does not demand an hour on a daily basis, does it? Honestly, I don't see what the problem is. You want some more time off? go ahead, the rest of the staff will step in if it's really needed, no problem... no need to leave or step down... *sweet*
  9. :'-) :'-( :-X X-O *sing*
  10. i believe it's like this: 5 sets, two sections, closer to the old castle themes then KK; KK is finished.
  11. yeeees! now we are setting up a revolution on Eurobricks!! the guillotine for the old leadership!! :-P
  12. g... and that surprises you? :-P
  13. sorry to hear you're leaving us... :'-( take care... :-$
  14. i wonder how it would cost to get all the parts :-(
  15. "the vault" is Lego's own archive for Lego sets, well at least the one that is opened to guests from time to time
  16. well... you can always go for the "buy now price": $4900 yeah! let's do that! X-D
  17. well actually, i like the waves of the sea the most
  18. i was just checking briskshelf when i found these pics of the vault. it seems to me that they added quite a lot of sets since we were there. however, what is really interesting are those pics of what seems to be a new museum... is this by any chance, the new section they were still building when we were there?
  19. g... did you people win the lottery or something? :-P
  20. i think you're right. at least, I remember them as well... from about 6 years ago...
  21. 1) i think if this were true, the (CC-)ambassadors would have indicated that it is. that's the way it happened with the space sets, i guess that's the way Lego is going to work in the future. For us, the EB-community, if the ambassadors don't confirm news, or any other very very very good source, like Sam, then i think it's safe to say it's not true until one of the sources mentioned above decides to confirm the news at one point. 2) the news sounds to good to be true anyway :-X
  22. girlfriends and Lego..; hm... here's a tricky relationship... my current GF doesn't mind, in fact, she's been going through the collection in the last couple of weeks and she actually built one of the sets :-$ ..; but talent? nope, not in that field anyway... :-P *sweet* ;-) GF of the past? it's never been an issue, contrary to CM's situation, but if you know what quantities that guy buys,... hm... no wonder she's leaving him... :-P he's paying more attention to Lego Vader than to her! :-P X-O
  23. well i don't think that's true, really... sure, these days Lego has become more than a toy. more and more people accept the notion of "Lego as a hobby", but that's fairly recent. 5-6 years back, when I got out of the dark age, being early 20's, people gave you this "wtf?"-look, clearly indicating you've become senile... thank god that is disappearing, especially when I mention to people that some Lego sets get sold for 400 euro and more, then suddenly it's "hm... maybe I should check what Lego sets I still have".
  24. don't EVER say that in belgium... trust me, it's for your own good... :-P
