excellent! :-P but... do leave that at home when you come to any event in the future... X-D unless it's your intention to fill it with bricks before you leave... X-D

ok... this I can't allow to pass... remember Billund unofficial event 2006 when this so called brilliant Viking team was crushed by a family of one dad, one mother and two insignificant children? and not just by a few milimeters, but by minutes!!! Really, completely crushed, this viking team was! yes mister! in complete shambles! devestated this team was! and oh yes, you know what the excuse was, don't ya? "they did not play by the rules!", "they started a meter before us!", "our car was in a bad condition!", "the referee wasn't fair!"... yeah yeah yeah... depressing arguments from a depressed team, if you're asking me... :-|

What is your artistic interest ???
snefroe replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What I find fascinating is that modern art very often looks simple, but it isn't. Classic art usually was just a representation of reality, whether it's from Rubens, Breughel or Vermeersch. That makes it easy for the public to evaluate the work; you like it or you don't. Modern art very often is a representation or a reflection of some one's ideas. Take Piet Mondriaans work here, most people only see lines and colors and don't even think this is art, but if you read Mondriaans explenation for these works, you'll find that it's no longer just a simple construction of lines and colors, but a painting with a specific meaning, in this case something like: "find balance in life through simplicity". Whether you like modern art or not is more a question of understanding the work than appreciating what you see as a copy of reality. In Piet Mondriaans work, I'd even say it's therapeutic... I'd love to have a painting of Piet Mondriaan on my wall, but i'll have to do with a copy made of Lego... :-P :'-) by the way, Picasso's principle can also be found in the world of comic books. what strikes me the most is the name... "USS Potempkin"... first of all, that should be "Potemkin". It also does not make much sense to have an American ship with a Russian name in this historical time frame, especially as a reference to Grigori Potemkin... isn't it time that you pirate fans spend some more time in actual history books instead of the Star Trek database? 8-|

No aquaraiders for Belgium :(

you just make sure there's still something left when i get there, mister! the way you've been buying sets these last few days suggests all Lego will have been gone by the time I get there! :-X well... except for exo force... don't need that... -
don't know, but i remember that when I saw the blacktron 2 ship, I thought it was more or less a copy of the first

it looks very much, too much, like this one

sorry guys, due to some techbnicality, i can't give tags... i'll ask an admin to look into it...

well i'm mostly surprised about the poor result of the "200-jet"...

well actually, i think this isn't Lego's best set. it's nice because you get a battery box and some great wheels, but that's it.... and btw, Kim, you forgot to give this poor guy his airtanks! :-X :-P

No aquaraiders for Belgium :(

my guess is that the shops complained about too many different sets/themes. boxes are very large today and they can't put it all in the shops anymore. Very often they simply drop the large boxes on the floor because the shelf can't handle it anymore. -
i've always thought that the viking line was more or less a gesture to the danish public, not so much intended to be distributed worldwide, but at some point, they decided to sell it globally... To my knoledge, it didn't sell all too well at first but sales improved during the year. However, sales had gone down again drastically by the end of last year. My guess is that the large toyshops indicated they're not interested in a second season. Lego's way of doing business is in fact rather weird. They offer a shop the choice between two package deals. You can choose for Program 1, meaning, you'll get a fair amount of SW sets, most city sets and a few creator sets for instance; or you can choose program 2 which has all the larger sets of all themes and many smaller sets of bionicle or so... They used to have a more diversified system with 5 programs, but when Lego decreased her own profit margins in favour of the toyshops a few years back, they also restructured the system of programs, leaving only two out of five... they're using this system to get rid of all themes/sets that are not succesfull. Otherwise the shops would only ask for large sw and city sets, and probably forget all the rest. especially these smaller sets are a nuisance, because you hardly make any profit, so nobody really wants to buy them from Lego, so Lego creates a program with highly popular sw sets and lots of crappy small sets that nobody wants... the worst thing about this is that Lego very often tells the shop they don't have enough large sw sets for you, so you get all the small crappy sets and not the sets you really want.

thanks sam! is that the canopy of a jsf but in trans-orange? could be interesting...

i would replace most of the orange parts like the wheels with grey. i'd give airtanks to the minifigs, and get normal figs for martians. some shooting mechanisms may be deleted as well

that house is the creator house. remember, Lego is building houses for city in the creator category these days -
the answer is simple: the first HP castle sold more than a million copies. HP castles are by far the best sold HP sets, so obviously, a castle set is an absolute must.

if you look at the pics on the box, you can clearly see that these green creatures are grabing a steering wheel or something, so the arms rotate just as any other arm of a minifig... in my opinion, it seems as if the head rotates as well. in any case, they look fragile. it seems to me that these hands easily break. they don't look as strong as normal Lego hands... i also find they look like cheap plastic. the other space astronauts don't look all that bad, however, it's very likely that most fans will add airtanks. the visors should have been in some sort of transparent color, not this solid golden look...

i like the technic sets and the racers sets more than the minifig themes... that orange truck looks more like the "model team", btw... it's pretty cool -
well actually, it goes like this: one day you wake up, turn on your pc, log on here and see you've become a fellow
