well honestly i would like to get that large pirate ship at one point. i think you can mod that into a nice transport ship...
-
but you can redraw your offer can't you?
-
and your point is? :-$ getting awards for your products doesn't mean that you may not have very good reasons to stop producing them...

talk about a disturbing ebay listing...
snefroe replied to morris's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well if this is genuine: then i don't really see any problem here; My grandmother died two years ago and my mother and my aunt (my grandmother's daughters) just told the family to take what we wanted and all the rest would be sold... My niece took lots and lots of stuff to garage sales... We split the money that was still on her account, ... nobody said anything like "g... people... this disgusting..." Clearly many of you have never been involved in what happens when family members die, trust me, you can't keep everything and if there's a choice of throwing away something that's still in perfect condition or sell it on ebay or whatever, believe me, many will sell it... and why not? If your father dies and you're stuck with a second car, wouldn't you sell it, and wouldn't you state that you're doing it because it was your fathers? It happens all the time... in this case, I wouldn't even state that it's a marketing trick, nobody is going to buy this out of sympathy, but because you may get a good deal here... if it isn't genuine... then i don't really see what impact this statement can have. I would or wouldn't buy this because of the extra info. I don't care why people sell their stuff, i just look if it's a good deal or not... period. -
well it depends from day to day... usually i just click on 'new posts' and i get a list of 1-4 pages. i then just pick up the topics that sound interesting...

Belgium, actually the french speaking community of Belgium, will be sending the "Crazy Mess Groovers" and a song called "Love power". It's your typical mixture of Wham! in its early days (this guy's voice really sounds like that of a young G. Michael) and some classisco like Earth Wind & Fire. It's not a bad song at all, but not really outstanding either...

no that's not the principle behind it in Flanders. In Flanders we ask ourselves: "Based on this exam, do I feel, as the professor/assistant who just went through the exam, that the student knows his stuff? Does he understand enough of it to go to the next level?" The answer had three options: 1) no, failed completely; 2) it's not bad, but not sufficient either (50-60%); 3) yes, no problem at all... So if they feel more or less neutral, if they're not convinced of the student's ability, they'll give him/her between 50-60%. It means that if the general result (all exams of all the subjects) is not good, the student will have to take a second chance, not only on the failed subjects, but also on the "neutral" ones. If the entire result is good, then there's no problem for the 50-60% subjects... I've always felt that this was a better solution to evaluate students, it allows the professor/assistant to add nuances in the his evaluation. Unfortunately, the students asked the universities to change the system to the one you're mentioning. In many systems of evaluation in all sorts of institutions, you still have to have 55-60%, btw... well, but if you're in the shop, you're going to have to make a choice, don't you? you'll have to ask yourself if the good outweighs the bad; if so, you'll buy the set, if not, you'll buy something different. so, in the end, there's no such thing as "equality in good and bad". However, in the case of this poll, i just follow the guidelines professors of marketing always told me to do: avoid the 50% because many people will use that option to allow themselves to not giving an answer. It's the "I don't know" answer you just don't want as a researcher.

LEGO satisfied with profits after long period of struggle
snefroe replied to johnsocal's topic in General LEGO Discussion
well i guess quality has improved for city and has always been high for sw sets... It's not a coincidence that both sold very well in 2004-2006. they also pushed prices down so Lego is cheaper now, or in any case within the pricerange of what people are willing to spend on toys for their kids. My only fear is that they're dependant on marketeer's visions too much, like no female figs, no smaller city substance sets "because the young boys won't be happy with that..." Some more guts in the city line would be nice... -

well what exactly are you looking for?
-
well the sets you're mentioning are so good you can easily use them as display sets, as I do, but this set, which also doesn't seem to have minifigs, btw, is not nearly good enough... so it's not really a question of parts/price, it's more a question of you buying a fairly large set for trains and still having one motor short...
-
well if there's a motor, wouldn't that be in the invertory list at the side of the box?
-
thanks for the links... *sweet* so there's no engine in the set and the other parts look like a basic inventory of the Lego factory. still think you're better of getting the parts you need on bl... however, I wonder what they're going to do with the "factory" element on the box. Is it the first set of a new line of "Factory sets" or just one set to promote the Factory? |-/

Vote for the domain name of the new Pirate LEGO Portal website
snefroe replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
voted for piratebricks.com most newbies would never think of classic pirates because classic basically refers to Lego in the early 80's, like space and castle. Pirates has nothing to do with that... besides, you'd have to be familiar with the current websites community to figure out "classic" is a refernce to lego at all; same with "afol" system-pirates doesn't make any sense to me. lego fans never use "system" the last is farfetched and refer too much to the pirate films -
well actually i do wonder when they're supposed to come out. they're not announced in the current catalog, so i'm guessing zat best in September or so...
-
hm... not really sure what to think of this set. it seems to me you get 1000 parts to build only one particular model at any given time. you're gonne have to dismantle your model if you want to build a different model. so in the end you get a model of average quality and a pile of bricks you can't use for this particlar model but you need for the alternative models, models most real train fans will never build. my guess is that most train fans would have prefered a single engine of a high quality for 40-50 euro....

it sounds to me like a good source for grey parts *sweet*

i kinda agree with sw4j. ships, robots, rockets,... how would you compare all of these?
