  1. nice set *yoda* but when do we get to see a review of a mars mission set? *sing* :-P
  2. aha! people are signing up! *sweet* ok... we'll get a deadline for June 4th. That's a Monday in three weeks from now... also, we need to find a word for these challenges without a prize.
  3. thanks! hope we do good, but i think we were the favorite last year and we didn't get into the top 10, so i'll shut up now... :-X we are getting alienated from the show, that's for sure. Georgia, Ukraine, ...? no idea they were European :-|
  4. 25... ouch, ok i'll just buy one when it's on sale at the end of the year, but to think that the already legendary firetruck of a few years back was only 19... then i do have to wonder what exactly is sooooo expensive to produce that it has pushed the price so high.. btw, great review, yoda. even though you do know that the entire world is waiting for your Eiffel tower review, don't ya? :-P
  5. this is from belgium: love power it's got this "Earth Wind & Fire" thing all over the place, it's a nice pop song, but that's it. maybe people will notice this song for two reasons: 1) Eurosong is always created around this "feel good" atmosphere, lots of kitch, disco and bubble gum music of unknown people who usually disappear as fast as they came. Perfect match, i'd say 2) Usually, countries send songs similar to songs that did brillianly the year before; Three years back or so there was this weird "world music" formula that did pretty well, like Urban Trad, so everybody did something simular the year after. Last year we had the extravagant rock song of Lordi and now many countries do something like that as well, so maybe the belgian thing will be noticed this year just because it's different. also, we are number 24 out of 28, that's pretty late in the show, and people may just as well remember it when they have to vote. you're right, i think there are two processes against us, belgians and dutch: neighbouring countries very often do give points to each other because they're related as countries and cultures (like Skandinavia). offcourse, we belgians and dutch always seem to have this weird "love-hate" relationship that forbids us to vote for each other :-| especially in the Balkans and with Turkey, it's the problem of mixed populations; Eurosong hasn't been able to find a solution for that, and i'm not even sure if they're interested in the problem. They probably will, once France, UK and Germany decide to no longer finance the show...
  6. i COMPLETELY agree with you... g... again... :-| :-P
  7. this looks pretty cool, however, i think the price was kinda high for just these elements, a car and a minifig. How much did you pay, yoda?
  8. i expect WW to get expensive in Europe. It seems the popularity of the theme is on the rise and it's likely that new US WW fans will try and get the european sets, now that the US versions are pretty hard to find for a reasonable price.
  9. haven't we seen pics of a prototype in the not so long ago past? that model was not all that brilliant as i recall...
  10. 265 dollars... :-| i don't even like the thing. is it just me or have prices for lego on ebay gone down since the beginning of the year? i've been monitoring prices for space sets mostly and it seems to me that demand for many sets has decreased.... *sweet*
  11. we'll keep the originel rules, unless anybody wants to modify them... so i guess i'll sign up myself However, if we don't get enough people, we can always: 1) allow more than one entry 2) change the rules of the contest to get more interest I know some people on classic space argued that a fighter contest is too easy, too obvious... it only shows the lack of creativity and imagination of those guys. don't let them fool you, a fighter can be anything you want it to be... i'll give this thread ago for two weeks or so, if we don't have enough candidates by then, we'll decide wether we wanna keep this contest or change it... does that sound ok?
  12. well actually, i also have this engine section of a fighter lying around and i'm also constantly thinking "hm... i really should finish this cos it looks cool...". the reason why i never got it finished in the first place, was not by lack of ideas, but i just couldn't find the parts i needed... it turned out that they were in my bag with minifigs, obviously a bag i did not open when i was looking for them :-| however, before we proceed, how manny people would be interested in a "second round"? and, btw, congrats to the winner! *sweet*, but also to all the others! first of all, unlike me, they did make the deadline and in the end, it's not important how many people like your moc, it's faaaar more important to have fun building one and enjoying the result... ah yes, i'll close this thread and start a new one for candidates for a "second round" ; i think we need about 5-7 candidates...
  13. sure he has feedback, but feedback for me means more dealings and a very high positive %
  14. no i wouldn't. he has 0 feedback and is a newbie in the field. it's not that i don't trust him, i just would not risk a trade of this value with some one who has no feedback at all. except i f i knew him in person, but without a shred of solid info on his dealings i would not trade with him.
  15. i think it's big for a promo set, though...
  16. well i won't complain, i didn't like the old ones anyway...
  17. i agree, it doesn't look all that smashing and it sure could use some details, but the nose is kinda cool
  18. i'm quite happy with the extras! *sweet* using the cup almost on a daily basis... i think 30 euro is the maximum though.
  19. just saw this on BS... rest of the gallery looks pretty unique, a shame there's no interior...
  20. well can't you give us a quick tutorial or something? just a few steps that would show the way?
  21. don't think so, really. Lego already has a fairly large number of themes/licenses. They're not going to increase their sales by adding yet another line or by turning a line into "a bunch of everything", a few spiderman figs, x-men 3 figs,... sure, some x-men fans may be buying lego figs, but that potentiel market is waaaaaaay too small to have a good selling line, especially when the other lines are selling very well, not to mention the high costs, not only to pay Marvel for the license, but also production costs. seriously, the fewer licenses lego has the better. Star wars is obviously a super success, HP always does pretty good in a first year of release, but all the others don't really add anything to Lego's catalogue. Sure, batman was pretty nice, but is already at a dead end considering the few new sets... sponge is mainly interesting for several parts, more than for the line as such. still i'd prefer "Vikings", which was also a small line... Also, Lego's approach on potential lines is: "will it sell on both sides of the Atlantic?" I'm pretty sure "Fantastic four" or "X-men" would not sell in Europe. Not enought to justify the production costs anyway.
  22. happy birthday buddy!!! hope you're celebrating this day with the Lego eiffel tower *sweet* :-P however, i wish you most of all, extra space so you won't have to sleep with that giant MF or the eiffel tower in your bed... not to mention the port... :-X have a great one, Gaston! *sweet*
  23. pfew! man! am i glad that you're back! I was about to pin a "Missing in action" leaflet on all space ships of the galaxy! :-P i'm still thinking about buying anything... my event trip was kinda harsh on my wallet :-$ :-X X-D
  24. The X-1 Patrol Craft was long gone when the Cosmic Charger showed up in the catalogue of 1986, in my opinion, one of the golden years of classic space
