this is why the licenses are so important to lego: they already provide a strong backstory with lots of details, far better than any originel Lego backstory, probably the reason why lego would not go for adventures, but for indiana jones... the thing is that MM doesn't have a backstory either, well... not all that much anyway, but there's lots of room for fantasy, and let's face it, today, MM is closer to reality than the Middle Ages. i guess many young boys think they can one be up there, on Mars... Besides, Space in general is "in" again. The US is thinking of going to Mars and the moon, there's lots of excitement about new found planets,... Not to mention the fact that many hollywood films are sci fi's or close to... there's also a difference with the audience. Castle is an AFOL theme really. these beautiful mocs on classic castle are made by adults, it's not a surprise that they like the sets, considering the large number of figs. they can finally not only build big mocs but also populate them with lots of figs cheaply. Space is exactlty the other way around: many space fans are adults as well, but the sets aren't pretty much usefull for anything for afols. Afol space fans want brilliantly designed big ships, don't really care about the figs, they most of all want great parts...

you know what's really unfair, my dark lord, is that *vader* and *yoda* are always cheating! they can give weird titles to anybody else, but nobody can give them weird crappy titles (cos they change them in a second :-X ! life's sooo unfair we should... set up a revolution! yes! join the rebels, steal the yub yub burgers, sabotage the tie fleet, lock up all the moffs, captains, ... in the chamber with beatledude!! then we'll be free to give ourselves some nice cool names!!! :-X X-D who's with me?!... ah yes... we also need some root admins on our side, they might come in handy... ah now i see what you guys are talking about! the wings clearly do not close full circle. if you close the hinge, the rest of the black wings would overlap with the center structure, at best it would close up to the point where the wing tip touches the center structure. still, it was a nice idea i'm only worried that the plate hinges will not hold once they've been played with for a while. they will lose their strength and automatically close

i moved his topic he started about the BSB in the community to the buy sell trade forum, so maybe you guys should just close this thread. we've answered the question, and if somebody is willing to sell him a set, well, then there's the other topic in the BSTF...

well this set has been out of production for a while, so the proper Lego channels won't get you, nor mum anywhere. 8-| :'-( more over, this set is, even when it's the legend, which is a rerelease of this set, highly popular, making it fairly expensive for mum's wallet. In fact mum may just get a heart attack when she sees what this baby costs these days... the obvious choice would be bricklink: to make it easy for you: the cheapest one , second hand, would be 160 dollars a new one : 292.50 dollars... now go tell mum, but make sure she's sitting in a chair or on the ground would be even better, and only tell her when she's in a very good mood... :-P

hm... not sure what to think of it... all has been said already... the film will be set in the early 50's so i'm guessing it's classic espionage film of the Cold War... maybe a nuclear silo as a reference to the bomb, which was the big thing in the day... perhaps Sovjets or something that resembles those guys... maybe it'll replace batman...

10.000 dollars for an hp set... must be some sort of a typo. it doesn't make sense. it seems to me many of these bidders don't seem to be aware of Bricklink's existence. 2000 dollars for the red monorail seems too much... the space cruiser is a bit high, don't think that's a "never opened set" , but oh well, in this case, there were two guys who were willing to spend lots of money on it... again, bricklink has better deals

keep in mind that we post the "insane" lego auctions here, people :-X the ones that go waaaay above our wallet X-O :-X ... or the auctions that are really extreme for another reason... just to keep this topic on track...

it reminds me of the space sets of the mid 90's... :-$ that's not a bad moc for a newbie *sweet* . i like the shape, sure it's not exactly a ferrari, but why would you need that on mars anyway... i would add a printed tile though so this poor boy wouldn't have to use his mind control capabilities all the time to drive the car :-P i'd also add an antenna so the rover can keep in touch with the base and ah yes, some sort of platform attached to the technic beam would be nice as well. that way the guy can take a few samples himself instead of having to call the big guys with the big exploration trucks :-D and some gas tanks or so? supposed this guy has to go out without his oxygene :-X Moc on!! *sweet* btw, i edited your deeplink. next time, copy the deeplink URL, click on the icon with the tree, paste the URL in that window and click "ok"... *sweet*
