  1. Do you think Lego Dimensions packs count?
  2. I was expecting something on the level of Ninjago City, but this is just meh.
  3. The sad thing is, in the US, amazon is not even selling wave 9. I think there is some contract dispute with Warner Bros, but c'mon!
  4. To me, it's seems rather unlikely for LEGO to explicitly mention the page count of the Carousel manual and then suddenly, in the same sentence, change units. Some people have speculated that 2.56x refers to the volume or dimensions of the manual, but if that number refers to parts count, then not only are we changing the units, but also the object being measured.
  5. Not sure if it's relevant, but it looks to have the same number of rings as the original UCS book (21 rings). But the original UCS had just over 300 pages, so with this one having much more pages, I hopeful that this is not just a re-release.
  6. Made me wonder what an in-world Lego doctor's office would look like. I thought of spare arms and legs hung up and in bins. Sheesh.
  7. They should do what Hasbro does and just sell the exclusives through their online store a few weeks after the convention.
  8. One possible consideration is that it's probably cheaper and faster to print on a minifigure than on a brick. The minifigure parts haven't changed for decades and so on the printing machine, you just need to swap out the printing part for each different print run. But for bricks, you have to also swap out the parts that handles the brick since that brick can be any shape.
  9. A few pages back, someone tried to tease us with some supposed snippets of possible future figures. I think I found the source: http://bricksfanz.com/introducing-lego-quest-collect-legend-of-the-master-brick/
  10. There are uv-blocking films that you cover your windows with. Not sure if that is as effective as total blackout. Maybe you can also apply that to your bookcase doors.
  11. I welcome the possibility of more modulars, but I'm having a hard time imagining what such a set would look like. Maybe a police station (finally!) with the bat signal on top, but not very iconic since you can pop the bat signal on any old building. Outside of the city, obvious choices are Arkham Asylum (but already done a few times) and Wayne Manor (sort of already done, but people really just care about the basement...). If the set would include Metropolis, it can have the iconic Daily Planet building with the globe on top.
  12. Anyone else think a few of these battle pods would make good christmas tree ornaments?
  13. Oh, and it's a corner building too! I wonder if the black plates under the water serve any purpose other than to make the water look darker and deeper. I may remove those to make the water at level with the sidewalk of other buildings. It's interesting how the actual sidewalk for ninjago city is on the second level. Reminds me of the movie The Fifth Element, where they build toward from existing buildings. This is due to the planet's water levels dropping from it being transported to other worlds. Anyone planning to turn the Destiny's Bounty into a noodle ship? ;) Also, on the new Destiny's Bounty, I don't see the rear engines changing position. Perhaps this version doesn't fly?
  14. As seen in earlier screenshots, the technic holes are in the proper depth and height to attach to other modulars. LEGO may never suggest this as a feature, but may explain them as sewer holes with a wink. I don't really see multiple ninjago cities being connected together without heavy modding to remove the redundant look, but maybe this is the first set in a series of licensed-themed modular buildings. Sure, the set may not include the 'pins', but other modular buildings would have them already. So the only 'creativity' involved is deciding which buildings to attach. And if your city layout is more than one building deep, you probably don't even use pins to make it easier to swap buildings out.
  15. Yes, I meant Nya. My kids are more involved with the sets and show than I am. Normally Ninjago sets are not so well made and favor toward action elements, but it seems like any set associated with a movie seem to get extra special attention and budget for the design. I wasn't going to pick up the Temple of Airjitzu, but I have now since I can see how the water elements of that set can complement Ninjago City. I can probably add to this scene the Old Fishing Store and the Fun at the Beach sets.
  16. What I love about Ninjago and other lego-source-IPs like the Lego Movie: more varieties of yellow-skin lego citizens. It was due to the LEGO movie that we have city dwellers sporting fabuland and blacktron t-shirts. Ninjago City has so many cute city characters, but I may also pick up the City Chase set. Look how cute Mia's clothes are:
  17. I have all of the sets, including the ps4 dock w/ supergirl, but no console to play it on since I primarily game on PC. I guess a PC version is out of the question now so I probably should get a console before they shutdown all dimensions downloads/updates. Any particular console is suggested? I stated that I already have the ps4 dock, which should also be compatible with ps3/wiiU, but I'm sure once the line is not renewed, docks will go for dollars anyway. Is there a particular platform version of the game that is the least problematic?
  18. Cost not only depends on the quantity of pieces, but also the diversity of the pieces based on type, color, printing, etc. I think this is because there is an extra cost to dedicate molding machines for each brick type. So a set with 1000 pieces of the same piece will be cheaper than a set with 500 pieces of one type and another 500 pieces of another type. I think LEGO gives each designer a type of production budget to fall under. A smart designer can squeeze in more piece types into their design if they use brick types that are being produced for other sets. I think there was a good discussion of this on reddit for the Lego ideas/cuusoo exo-suit.
  19. I hope that window covered with newspapers(?) is printed.
  20. This will go well with my modular buildings, as did the Haunted House. I can also put connect to it 'Fun at the Beach' and have an old man to tell the kids to get off his, uh, beach. I think I spot a ladder for going up the lighthouse, which is much better than magical teleportation via the hand of god.
  21. I just ordered something from Austria to USA and I think I will get it tomorrow, which makes it 7 days since shipping. But most interesting is the tracking data. It only takes 2 days for it to arrive to the US, but it takes more time to go through an International Shipping Center and then a couple of hops before it gets to my local postal branch. I always thought the long delay was due to the package being in foreign parts but it's actually within the country already.
  22. I got the solution: Download wanted list. Upload wanted list into a new list (or into original list if you don't need to keep the original). Repeat upload to add quantities of each part to the list.
  23. I've been planning to get several Ikea Billy bookcases with class doors, but I've been putting it off since there is some work involved to adjust them to fit three modules per shelf. Then I noticed that Ikea now has this: HINDÖ Greenhouse cabinet, indoor/outdoor, gray Width: 24 3/4 " Depth: 12 1/4 " Height: 56 3/4 " Max load/shelf: 51 lb Width: 63 cm Depth: 31 cm Height: 144 cm Max load/shelf: 23 kg It's smaller than the billy, doesn't look as nice, but OMG why can't the billy have frameless glass doors like that! The per unit cost is less than billy ($99 vs $180 for billy with glass modliden doors). But the Hindo can only hold 8 modulars at most while each billy can do 12 (18 with width hack).
  24. I agree about Canada and I'm from the US! It's weird. I guess they can't just kick the packages over the border. But then then you're saying it takes 1-2 weeks from within Australia. Is this just shipping time? Within the US, I expect the shipping to be 1-5 days (usually 3).
  25. Say I parts out something into a wanted list. But I want to buy multiples of the entire list (eg: 2x, 3x, etc each part). Is there an easy way to multiply the parts count of a wanted list and store that into a new wanted list? I wish there is a multiply option when adding a wanted list into the store auto-finder.
