Notice that current packs are heavily discounted and readily available? If they hit upon a theme that drastically increases demand, they may be compelled to milk it at the expense of other properties. Note LEGO is able to produce new Star Wars sets every year despite dry spells of no new source material. And I think Star Wars is what saved LEGO from collapse.

I wonder what would happen if you called it Prince Charming's Castle or the Disney World Castle. I would love it if LEGO announces that it also transforms into a robot (macross sdf-1 style), just to make children question their attitudes on gender-specific toys.

Base Plate Organizer Tool, Does one exist?

Doesn't LEGO Digital Designer have baseplates? -
His codename was considered not suitable for a children's show. Interestingly enough, 13 years later, his codename is spoken quite often forwards and backwards in the children's movie: LEGO Justice League Gotham City Breakout.

What if they are in-game characters only, have ONE interesting ability, and cycle to a different companion each time they die? Actually, that last idea is rather morbid and I can imagine players killing themselves constantly to cycle through to the companion they want. Maybe have a closet in the Tardis where you can hop in to switch to another companion, similar to what Romana did when she switched bodies.

Packing my Minifig collection for a move
badbob001 replied to Mercury's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If you ever ordered from bricklink, you probably already have hundreds of little ziplock bags, which also helps keep the accessories together. If not, just wrap each in tissue paper and stack in a container. -
I read an article that said that kids-oriented things like theme parks or kids shows were made more successful when they were updated to make it fun for adults as well. So for Disney World, kids and their parents could enjoy the experience today instead of the adult just waiting for their kids. Or the Sesame Street show having jokes for adults to understand and now both kids and parents are watching the show together. So maybe for Dimensions, by including nostalgic things from the parent's childhood, then parent and child will now play together. So let's assume Knight Rider is going to in it. Adults would know it, be curious to try it, and buy it. Getting the adult to buy it may be the most important part since children are less likely to be the one buying these on their own. Maybe at the store, the adult would buy one pack that the kids want and one pack that mom/dad wants to try out. Of course, most children would not know about Knight Rider, but how bad can a computer car be, and besides, "mom/dad is willing to play it with me so it's worth a try."

Any whispers from little birds on a possible PC-release of Dimensions? Anyone else think that the NFC plate for the 2.0 wave will be colored gold instead of blue? The box should be a similar color too so they stand out from the 1.0 boxes.

Favourite . . . Male minifigure: S4 Sailor: sailor suits are perfect for japanese school uniforms (+ S1 Cheerleader's skirt). Female minifigure: S7 Grandma visitor: love the little girl head and the torso is cute too. Licensed minifigure: If the LEGO Movie counts, then I love Wild West Wildstyle's dress. Otherwise, Disney's Ariel for the great red hair. Additionally: What is your least favourite CMF that you own? S3 Fisherman: HATE that the torso printing doesn't go to the edge and creates a huge gap in his waders. What CMF do you want the most? S10 Mr. Gold: because it's the only one I'm missing, but no way am I paying $$$$ for it. What S16 CMF are you most looking forward to? Maybe the Babysitter. Any honourable mentions? S12 Gothgirl: finally have the parts to create Dorothy from The Big O.

I just saw a video on Megablok's Kubros figures, which are similar in concept to the Adventure Time figures, and one thing that jumped out at me is that the He-Man figure is full of "light-flesh" color bricks, which is a color LEGO doesn't have on normal consumer-sold bricks (outside of minifigure parts). I know Adventure Time has characters with unnatural skin colors but those colors do match many of the colors that Lego does use, which probably helped the project get approved. But Finn is normal human with natural skin color and so would this be the first time Lego is putting light-flesh colored bricks into a consumer set? I know they have those colors at Lego-created sculptures at theme parks and stores. Wasn't there a theory that the reason Lego didn't want to make bricks that match certain skin colors was because they didn't want people to make pornographic creations? Think of the children! :)

Any idea why there are no DK Lego Marvel Superhero books?
badbob001 replied to badbob001's topic in Culture & Multimedia
But I would guess only when the books, games, etc are not based on the story or design of their movies. EG: wolverine based on comic book design: ok since license is from marvel, but wolverine based on movie design, nope since license is from fox. -

I think warner brothers handles all of the licensing for DC, BUT for Mavel properties used in movies/shows, multiple studios seem to own the rights to different movies/shows, which makes negotiating rights more complicated. For example, fox has x-men/fantastic4, sony has spider-man, and marvel/disney has the avengers. This may be why Lego DC sets are not just limited to just shows/movies since it's easier to negotiate a single contract for everything. In the Lego marvel video games, do x-men/spider-man/avengers/etc ever meet? If not, then I'm guessing the different studios don't want their 'property' to be mixed in with the properties from other studios, and that goes for books as well. I read about Marvel cancelling the fantastic4 comic book because they didn't like fox owning the rights to that item, since Marvel is now trying to get all their licenses back. I suppose the only way currently for DK to come out with Marvel books is to have separate books for each property (eg: x-men book, spider-man book, avengers book, etc), but I don't they they have enough sets each to warrant that. The DK DC books use to be all about batman but it's starting to be less bat-centric, which is good. -
You would think they would make it harder to clone the NFC information from these toys-to-life items, which are essentially the razor blades in the razors/razorblades business model (or perhaps more appropriately, the games/gameconsole model). Now that the cats out of the bag, bring out the pc-version please. :)

I noticed that there are no bedrooms or beds. I don't watch the show, but does that mean it's a studio apartment or that you just didn't have the room for it?

Regarding the emulated games In the Midway Arcade pack, are you able to have three to four players in certain games such as Guantlet and Rampage, despite the base game being limited to two players?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
badbob001 replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I thought they would be using the bandana from this series: but the new one does look different. I hope it is separate, like the newer Darth Vader helmet. The Rogue does sport a quill, so another neck attachment would give him a rather long neck... but that has been done before in Ninjago. -

That Rogue/Ninja hood would be perfect for a Teen Titan's Raven if it came in purple. A hint of what's to come? -
Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
badbob001 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes. From a parts perspective, I would prefer they use minifigure heads, which would result in more minifigure-compatible accessories like hair and hats. But LEGO has to be careful to not make it look like it's someone in a costume. So they wouldn't do go the Chima route with a holded head over a regular head. I just had a disturbing thought: someone puts a minifigure head on the Mickey body, has the figure hold the original minifigure head, and then put photos of that on disney websites. Maybe have a MOC showing a bunch of Disney costumed characters having some off-time in the backlot of the theme park.- 4,155 replies

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
badbob001 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
To me, the biggest controversy is with the use of a regular head for Buzz. It is consistent if they want to use a regular head for all human characters, but it goes against how Buzz is presented as a real character at the theme parks. If they have Woody in a future series, then to be consistent, he would use a human head as well, but I'm not sure how good that will look. If Woody uses his previous molded head, then Buzz would then look like a mistake.- 4,155 replies

Ghostbusters (Reboot) 2016 sets rumors and discussion
badbob001 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the collar positions will change during the movie: I think it's ok as long as the name tags and accessories (necklaces) match the correct character. -
It does seem rushed but not because the video is too short since it is one of the longest designer videos he has done. I suppose there is just too much to talk about for this set. I'm okay with him skipping the minifigures because the main characters of this set is the building itself. And some of the AFOL buyers of this set would prefer more focus on the building design than the story elements.

Such a feature would make bricklink so much easier to use and buyer-friendly. But I suspect some stores may oppose this since this feature may favor larger stores. And how much can we trust this feature since bricklink gets more money when you spend more money. For all we know, bricklink will find you stores to satisfy your want-list, but not necessarily at the lowest possible price. It would be nice to have an independent system to sanity check results.

It would make sense to show the videos: Closer to the actual release date of the product so it's more fresh in the consumer's mind. After the US' post-thanksgiving period so to not affect those sales.
