  1. It makes sense if thieves plan to launder the money they steal.
  2. Maybe it'll be the batcave AND the gbhq: the gbhq will be like a regular modular building with no basement, BUT you can attach it to the top of the batcave and the top level of the batcave is the GB basement with the containment vault. Mind blown, amiright? What? Wayne manor is above what? You're not making any sense.
  3. Wouldn't they only announce licensed products at comic-con?
  4. When do you think the two winter sets will be available? Maybe Nov 1st? I hope they are sold at the same time and not split apart by a month so I can order them together or only make one trip to the store.
  5. Definitely the reason is that the boxes are not meant to re-store the bricks. There are some duplo junior / duplo sets that come in plastic containers that are meant for storing bricks. Maybe they expect you to pool your multiple sets together to make even greater creations, and thus you would already have an alternative storage solution? When I was a kid, my mother frowned upon me when I didn't keep the parts for a set together but I still just pooled everything into a massive heap. At the time, I was more concerned with getting cool new parts and getting more bricks for bigger creations. I did own this official lego storage case and still have it: But now as an adult, with less time, less tolerance for rainbow-colored creations, and access to bricklink for parts, I tend to want to keep the set parts together, but usually built and on display. Perhaps when I run out of space, I would breakup some sets but still keep the original parts together. I still have the original boxes, but they have been carefully flattened and stored.
  6. Computer version. 3-4 player co-op. My Little Pony (I know, never will happen).
  7. Yeah, it's actually really lame on that aspect. Maybe they should alter it so you actually fight your sister witch, the one that was squashed by the house in the movie. Or make you the sister. On a related note, has anyone tried playing co-op with the same two characters? I'm curious how they differentiate them.
  8. What happens if you play as the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz level? Do you essentially fight yourself?
  9. I think the Thanksgiving set is the best of the lot so far. I think it even has the most bricks, which is no surprise since both sides of the wall are full of details. On the dining side, what is the silver round tile that is attached to a white brick? Some sort of plate or souvenir coin on a little ledge? May look better if the SNOT brick was the same color as the rest of the wall, but it probably doesn't come in that matching color.
  10. Does anyone know if the spare parts are needed for all three builds of each vehicle? And if each build will use up all the parts from either of the other two builds? It would make sense for the all builds to consume all the parts with nothing left over. This way, when the game prompts you to rebuild a vehicle to another version, you just have to use all the pieces from the current version and not worry about where you kept the left-over/spare pieces.
  11. This why people should only support a project where they like the design and not just the idea (coughbacktothefuturecough). At least, supporters should have left suggestions for the creator on how to improve it. I wonder if smooth floors were ever brought up or if this is one of those projects where the creator puts up the design but then ignores it afterwards.
  12. Yes, dust is always a concern, which is why I don't put anything up on display unless it's behind glass/acrylic. I've run out of display space and so this mod is now hidden inside a non-display cabinet. The great thing with LEGO sets is that there is usually something that can be improved upon. Back to the Future Delorean: fixed hood. Ghostbuster ecto1: plan to mod to fit all four busters. Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine: plan to mod to fit all five of the gang. Even before I was able to ordered the Big Bang Theory set, I saw early reviews, immediately took a dislike to the floors and started planning with LDD/Bricklink on how to fix it.
  13. I just got the Portal 2 pack and while it's mostly nice, the gun is bad. The gun is made of really flexible black rubber with some white paint. I'm ok with the paint but I can't stand it being rubber. It is very hard to get the flexible gun handle into the hands of a minifigure. And once it's on, you can't twist the gun's direction in the hand like to have it point toward the other hand. You have to remove the gun, face it the direction you want, and then try to get it back into the hands.
  14. This is a rather simple mod to The Big Bang Theory set, which I just got around to building. I really didn't like all the studs on the original design, especially for something that seems more suited for display than play. Also, the telescope can now sit flush to the floor. I couldn't think of a solution for a smoothed corner for the elevated floor, so I just left it out. The "magic". A mistake in the photo below is that the studs for the table next to the sofa should be lower by one stud. As may notice, I wanted the tiles line up in rows to give the illusion that the floor is made of planks of wood. I ran out of 1x1 dark tan tiles so I cheated with the tiles under the sofa. After the honeymoon period is over, I'm going to try to cram this into the Corner Cafe, including the smooth floors.
  15. I doubt they actually say they won't release a sequel. If the main money flow is from the expansions, then they need sequels to keep that addiction going. They just say you don't need to buy another starter kit:
  16. We'll see. A reviewer was able to finish the main game in about 12 hours. The expansion packs would add extra levels but are probably just side-quests and are apart from the main storyline. I'm not sure how they can sustain interest in the game for up to three years with no expansion to the main story or the introduction of a new main storyline. Sure, they can make the sequels be entirely download only, but rather than expect users to own large harddrives or memory cards, it may be easier to just release a sequel disk that includes everything from the first disk and works with the original kit.
  17. Does anyone know if these will be sold at lego stores and shop.lego.com? If so, then I hope they will carry the Toy R Us "exclusives" for the Jay and Laval add-ons.
  18. Only when he takes a holiday and his daughter has to take over.
  19. How about this, if they made an Ultimate Edition version of the ECTO-1 and Homer's car, which would you think would be a more popular buy? Assume no minifigures are included with the set and it is larger than minifigure-scale.
  20. The LEGO city cops chase the crooks and the crooks run away. The crooks don't fight back. If they crooks are hard to catch, the cops will just need to try harder, not shoot them. This is like a children's game of tag. No weapons needed.
  21. Since the focus is the HQ, it's very likely that there will be a mini simplified version of ecto1 for props purposes. Kind of like the mini-version of MetalBeard in the Sea Cow set. The car will likely top out at seating two characters but may have an awesome opening rear hatch (play features!). This will also mean that the Lego Ideas one will be much too big to fit into the garage and will have to settle for street parking. I think it's very rare for LEGO sets to be designed for close integration with another set, like an expansion pack. All I can think of right now is Jabba's Palace + Ranchor Pit.
  22. I played around with the idea in my head that they could include the car BEFORE it was fixed up be ecto1 (was it a hearst?). But then may be out of place, especially if the rest of the HQ was post-fixup. Maybe they will include an even BETTER ecto1 than the Lego Ideas one, where it can sit all of them and have an opening rear hatch with slide-out mount for their packs...
  23. On shop.lego.com someone wrote a review for this set that was somewhat negative and LEGO actually responded: I kind of doubt that the original designer was consulted for these answers but they seem believable but generic. I would be curious on how someone else would design this. The face of the house looks weird and it seemed like the designer dumbed it down by trying too hard to make the top of the set look like a roof... in case you didn't get that we are looking at a part of a house. The overhand could be simplified, more roof pieces put on the walls to look like siding, and the tree is not really needed.
  24. I'm not disputing the piece count and I hope it is true: I really want them to go all out with the details and not just half-megablocks it. But I'm super surprised about the relatively low price. Given that the Death Star has 800 fewer pieces and yet costs $50 more, then that Star Wars license must be super expensive compared to Ghostbusters. Of course, it does help that the Ghostbuster brand hasn't been active for a very long time and may be very cheap to license.
