  1. Nice work! I like the pinball machine. That's a detail I need to add to my lair. I also really dig the floor in the dojo. I just hope you left some weapons for the Foot Clan to use. :)
  2. LOL, I love it.
  3. Love the Mauler, and I appreciate your totally purist approach to details like the logos. For the Joe logo, may I suggest a 1x2 white tile (for the lettering) beside a 1x2 blue tile with a 1x2 red vent over it (or vice versa) to represent the stripes of the logo.
  4. This was the most troublesome vehicle I've made. There's a few regrets on the final build, and I may revisit it someday, but I think that overall it fits nicely with the other vehicles I've made and it's recognizable enough to evoke the warm fuzzies in me. 5. I can't believe you made the Judge! So awesome.
  6. Actually, the main villain's henchmen were a reptile man, a vulture man, and a jackal man, so the Lions fighting Crocs, Ravens, and Wolfs is preeeeeetty similar. There are a LOT of surface comparisons that can be drawn between the two franchises. But then, I tend to think of the original Thundercats as a He-Man rip-off, anyway. Everything feeds of off something.
  7. FWIW, I'm active on several fansites for 80s properties, and someone on every board who knows I'm into Lego has come up to me and said, "Look, Lego ripped of Thundercats." But they said, "Lego ripped of Filmation's Ghostbusters" when Monster Fighters came out and more than one person has compared Ninjago to Power Rangers. Nothing in the world is truly and uniquely original. Everything borrows from what came before. People are naturally going to draw comparisons when the see them. I wouldn't try to turn it into a brickmeasuring contest between fandoms or companies or anything.
  8. Thanks! And you just made me realize I need to retake that pic with the Official Raphael. *changes sig and avatar* Good luck with the FoS!
  9. Sweet. I want TLG to know I'll take a recolored Gamorian Guard as Bebop if that's what it takes.
  10. I'm not crazy about the "S" symbol on the floor, and I think it coult stand a hinge system that would let it split in the middle and open for easier access to the interior around the pointy towers. Having said that, I would totes buy this set as-is.
  11. I super love it. Instantly recognizable.
  12. Very cool.
  13. I don't see why it wouldn't be fair. It's not like the entire student body voted in some original spaceship model they'd never actually buy at retail or something. Cuusoo support is about showing Lego there's a market for the item. If you make an item with a massive fanbase, then hooray for you, right?
  14. A new year, a new addition to my Lego Cobra Motor Pool. Still need to sticker it, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the final model. Comments and critiques appreciated. Thanks for looking.
  15. Love these! You really captured the movie's vibe.
  16. I actually prefer flesh, especially when I'm MOCing an existing property, but the yellow heads are more numerous - not just in my collection, but in general, and I find they tend to offer more variety. At first I was just mixing flesh and yellow without worrying about it (i.e., I'd make one GI Joe character yellow, but another one flesh based on whatever I thought worked for the individual character). But as I made more and more figures, I found myself becoming a little more OCD about it, so I went through and rebuilt them by theme. So now I have the human characters from Ninja Turtles and Transformers as well as my superhero characters in flesh. But my GI Joes, my Ghostbusters, and my He-Man characters are all yellow. It's not a perfect system, but at least it makes group shots look more cohesive.
  17. This is all I meant.
  18. Very cool.
  19. That is really great. But don't worry about not having that many "brick" bricks. Sewers have lots of varied textures and colors.
  20. For my manhole I used the trapdoor piece that comes with the official Turtle Lair (and many other sets). It works really well, IMO. You can check it out here and maybe find some other inspiration, too. I also have some reference pics of the sewer from the TV show. PM me your e-mail addy and I'll shoot 'em your way. I'm pretty new to MOCing, too, but the best way to get better is to dive in.
  21. The pizza restaurant from the new show: With its delivery truck: Mikey looking kinda crazy as April picks up dinner. And the restaurant as part of the developing modular street level.
  22. The tall brick sections are from an old Mega Bloks Plasma set. It involved giant spiders attacking some city pieces, and a cool brick Humvee I use for my Lego GI Joe customs. The secret to the Star Trek spoof show is: 1. Turtle Lair Attack TV sans sticker. 2. Office Depot do-it-yourself inkjet sticker paper 3. Screen grab of Space Heroes from the internet. 4. Profit.
