  1. OOC: Oh, that's right. Anyhow, the point was, it's more than just one arrow, unlike the RP of the loading. Just an RP tip.
  2. OOC: Would an ordinary soldier be allowed to be assigned to reload the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha? Or should we put Spag there to help Arasmyth? Oh, and Kadabra, there's about 50 arrows in the standard hwacha...per shot. Lemme find a Wikipedia link, I'll edit it in... -==IC: Arthur==- "OK, let's recap what we have so far. Isabella and I are still working the catapult, as that seems to be working well against the Elves. Arasmyth will be at the foot of the wall with the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha, possibly with Spag to help reload if Althior approves. William and Alexandre will be in the wall somewhere...preferably stationed so as to be able to defend multiple sides of the fort. Althior, presumably, will be atop the wall, ready to give orders and cast spells. Where will Xander be? Atop the wall in case any Elves manage to scale it? At the foot of the wall, to protect Arasmyth and the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha (and possibly Spag) from the enemy? And what about the Lion Knights, will we keep our spread or rearrange everyone?" EDIT: Better than Wikipedia, here's a YouTube!
  3. Ditto! ...uh....though, not for the same reason. Don't feel bad, Bob, once you say something 'off' you're toast, unless the person who reveals it already looks scummy. The people who 'caught' you weren't scummy, so you didn't have a chance. EDIT: Man, I'm making typos today!
  4. Actually, if you DON'T destroy the goblet right away, you can keep fighting the werewolf until you get to Level 15...
  5. Two things: 1.) This is Highly entertaining. It's rivaling my attention for Mafia, and that is very hard to do. 2.) I still have no idea how the game is played, or what the heck is going on. It's like trying to watch LOST in Japanese. (Which I HAVE done, FYI...it makes it more confusing, in case that's not obvious. ) Oddly, it remind me of Western Mafia from the archives...oh wait, that's 3 things.
  6. THIS. If we can't get the ice weapons from the Slither Pit, then at least give us these next year!
  7. Arthur attempts to judge the relative strength of the catapult verses the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha--that is, which one could hold up to more punishment--as well as whether the catapult would be effective at all on the ground. This last element convinces him to have the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha placed on the ground near the South-West tower. "Hey, guys...who should we have manning the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha? Preferably someone who would be ineffective at range, but highly effective up close. We want someone weak enough (at least at range) that the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha would be an improvement over their basic fighting skills, but strong enough to hold their own once the Elves close to melee range. Who would you suggest, Althior? One of us? One of the men?"
  8. This is LEGO. Anachronisms are a contractural requirement. EDIT: Oh, wait, do you mean that literally?
  9. Arthur sees a reply appear in the book before his eyes. He cries out. "Why didn't I think of that! Guys, listen, we just need a very small, thin hole through the log. We can then load the wood cannon with stakes! Actually, now that I think of it..." He quickly scribbles in the book. Arthur runs downstairs to the kitchen and grabs a couple dozen or so wooden cups in preparation for his next invention (OOC: the segments of palm trees make a good LEGO representation of the cups I'm talking about). After going to a more open area, he borrows a blade and carefully cuts holes in the bottom of the cups, then nails them together into rows, and then nails the rows together into a sort of rectangular panel, with the holes facing front and back. Next, he takes four boards and nails them around the cups as a frame. Before attaching the bottom plank, he nails it to another board (roughly 6x8 studs, I think--I don't have the bricks in front of me right now to test this build), then nails the frame to that plank so that the contraption is in sort of an L shape. He nails a pair of stakes to the sides of the solid board, making the shape more of an upside-down T. Finally, he makes a hole in two boards like before, nails them to the solid (6x8) board on opposite sides, pushes an extra-long stake through them, and attaches the wheels they had found earlier to the stake. He then takes a few stakes and some gunpowder and fashions what the ancient Aoi had called "fire arrows" (OOC: note: not fire-elemental ), and loads them into the device. While he's working, he also fashions half a dozen lids for buckets, carving them out of wood... "Ta-da! I call it...the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha! What do you think? Althior, unless you think we should do something else with it, I'm going to put this thing on top of the wall in such a position that it can defend the South-West wall (or whichever wall we saw the Elves were going to attack from)." OOC: Stop reading now if you don't want to be totally grossed out...but remember, this is war. IC: "Oh, and one more thing...Attention All Lion Knights!" Arthur hoists a bucket in the air, along with a lid. "If any of you have any...business...to take care of before the Elves get here, leave it here. DO NOT forget to attach the lid tightly when you're done, for ALL of our sakes! Once the battle starts, we'll launch these at the Elves using the catapult. That'll make them think twice before attacking us again!"
  10. I thin the hosts really, REALLY want Aloysius to get lynched. He must be a Bomb/PGO or something.
  11. There must now be a Portal 2 Mafia Mafia School to celebrate this quote.
  12. "Don't forget the metal bands, though, glue won't be enough for a cannon. Alternatively, instead of cutting the log in half we could use this really old spoon-drill I saw in a picture in a book once, but we'd need a way to power it at high speed, since we don't have all night to work. Perhaps..." Arthur seemed reluctant to continue, but realized that given the limited resources of the fort, the use of some magic would be unavoidable. "Perhaps we could attach a small 'sail' to the drill, and Arasmyth or Althior could whip up a miniature windstorm to spin the drill with wind power?"
  13. Town is so screwed now...I bet Hinck thought he was safe, and so didn't pass on his intel. Without that master list, town is back to Day 1...and Scum now has several claimed virgins to choose from.
  14. Arthur mentally wrestles with breaking from his usual means of planning versus the awesome out-of-the-box strategies and ramifications that would come as a result of his idea.
  15. Google is your friend. Also, Mythbusters reruns and TV Tropes.
  16. Arthur instinctively raises his Opal in a futile effort to put out the fire he senses, before realizing that a.) the burn was metaphorical and not literal, and b.) it came from the voice in the sky. He returns to the safety of the fort and idly wonders if he (or anyone in the party) has the strength and/or skill to bend a metal bar into a spring (about the size of 2 1x1 rounds, when coiled but not compressed).
  17. "You would be surprised, Spag. Sure, Alexandre, that sounds like a good idea. Just remember, go easy on the gunpowder. I'll try to find a few smooth, spherical rocks by or in the river. And, William, I'd gladly entrust you with some gunpowder."
  18. Seeing that the Elves were far away, Arthur sat down to write to De'kra in his book.
  19. Apologies, for some reason I'm still getting you confused with other people. Sorry! And, I was saying the waves would come faster (and we'd tear through them quicker) if we all were more active in beffing beefing up the fort in between waves. Beffing? What the heck is that? Thanks, Doc. Hmm, let's see...if you can contact someone on De'kra's party, he could write them in that book I gave him...which reminds me, I have to write him to tell him about the first wave...course, he'll have to wait until he gets out of combat to read about it and reply...I think I'm using too many ellipses...
  20. Perhaps if our party had taken more bold actions, he would have made it. Aside from me and K-nut (when he's even available, what with Mafia and Real Life), everyone keeps Thinking Out Loud instead of actually doing stuff. Part of this comes from Insistent Terminology in the form of having to bold actions instead of just saying them, but a lot comes from, I think, people wanting K-nut to give final approval of stuff, and from what I've seen (feel free to correct me, K-nut), Althior just isn't that type of leader. In any case, the between-battle moments would go a lot quicker if folks just did stuff instead of just talking about it.
  21. Arthur tries to recall what (if any) defenses have been set up along and/or in front of the South-East Wall.
  22. OOC: OK, K-nut's had plenty of time (and a PM) to make the obvious reference, which for him would actually be in-character. I will now make it for myself as the new troop-rallying speech. Unless K-nut takes this second opportunity before then... -==IC:Arthur==- "Well, food for thought, anyway. Keep that lemon-ade idea in mind, though." Arthur then climbs to the top of Catapult Tower, stopping along the way when he runs into Isabella. "Remember, Isabella, bold actions!" Upon reaching the top, he steps near the edge of the tower and uses his telescope to try and spot the next wave of Elves before they arrive.
  23. Check Lunibook and the LU Wiki. I know admins from both sites who are working tirelessly on preserving all of the game data they possibly can. Lunibook, in particular, has LXF files of all the LU in-game models, and most of the minifig textures, and they're working on re-formatting the minifig textures so they can easily be printed onto decal paper for minifig modding. It's ironic...when I first saw the snakemen from this year's Ninjago sets, I thought they were ugly, and that I was done spending money on Ninjago. Then I saw the ZX suits. Even then, I was preparing myself to say, "look, you can do without them, you have Bricklink orders to make and not enough money to make them." It was only when I realized they would (have) appeared in LU that I decided to give Ninjago 2012 a second look--and that's when I got hooked on Ninjago. Again. (Though to be fair, those dragons were really unfair to everyone who already had plans for their Lego budget that year. )
  24. To whomever is hosting the next Mafia School game: I want in. To whomever is hosting the next Mafia School game: start it already!
  25. Keeping in mind, this is after Super-Haldor of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Quest gives Arthur advice. For now, Arthur is a (mostly) nice guy. Plus, something in his previous job experience is primed to give him bad advice, if someone would actually figure it out...granted, I haven't given many clues to that--I haven't had the opportunity.
