  1. You really don't see it?? The LEGO theme ran for ten years! (Granted, the last wave was kinda meh, but the storyline was Epic, both literally and metaphorically. )
  2. If Hinckley were running the Quest, I would suspect this to be the solution of the riddle. I don't know UsernameMDM that well, so I've no idea if this is how he thinks. Hmm...say...were there any Mafia characters who wore a satchel and nothing else and managed to escape the wrath of the winning party? Perhaps we're uncovered their fate.
  3. Well, maybe he didn't live long enough to become a guard. Maybe he had my-knee-is-made-of-explodium-itis, and when he took an arrow to the knee, he blew up. Or maybe he was a Monty Python fan, took an arrow to the 'Ni!', and died of a bad pun...
  4. Happy Birthday, WhiteFang! Here's hoping you get lots of Lego you can show off for us in the near future!
  5. Hey there, welcome to Eurobricks! Hmm, with those themes (Castle and Minifigures in particular), it sounds like you'd enjoy our Heroica RPG. Come check us out in the Mafia and Role-Play Games forum! Enjoy the site!
  6. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  7. Hey, welcome to Eurobricks! CG, huh? Have you ever worked with Blender? Any pro tips for a newbie to the program like me?
  8. If I had to guess, I'd say the upper-left brick is a REALLY old (but still legit) part. The lower row looks legit, and the rest of the upper row (aside from the top-left) are definitely fakes (obviously). You might want to keep that one on the upper left hidden away someplace safe, if it's legit like I think it is, it's probably fairly rare.
  9. Arthur silently contemplates the gaping hole in the philosophical interpretation of 'value' that fails to account for the near-infinite variety of devious ways an individual such as himself could utilize such items. He suspects that if the law-and-order types of the world were aware of exactly the sort of things he could shape mere "garbage" into, careless pollution and disposal of "refuse" would be a non-issue plane-wide for the duration of his continued existence. Longer, if he made a show of teaching the same to his descendents.
  10. "Then let's search the fallen Elves for weaponry suitable for the Slice N Dice." OOC: Doc, see the edit I made to my last post.
  11. It's pun-powered...OOH! Got a great idea! Thanks, Pie! EDIT: Wow, no other discussion at all since yesterday? Hmm... Maybe he took an arrow to the knee.
  12. OOC: maybe a limited Mead/Nostrum combo? It doubles Power and gives Lucky effect, but only for magic? Honestly, I hadn't come up with an effect, I just thought that a Mardi Gras drink themed around Arasmyth and pun power would be hilarious and awesome. Also, it probably should be 'Suitable for Arasmyth' since its pun power is based around his spell combo archetype. IC: "Actually, Wiilliam, how many of those swords do we have? 4? If we reworked them, I bet we could use them to upgrade the Slice N Dice." EDIT: OOC: MUCH better idea: since it's pun-powered, it grants Mead + Nostrum, but only as long as Arasmyth manages to make a pun with each attack. 13. Hey, don't forget to add Elphaba from Haloween and Valentine from Etherial Letters to that NPC list!
  14. Arthur rises from his meditation with not one but TWO insane new ideas. First, he scribbles a note on a scrap of parchment and passes it to Arasmyth, before he runs to the battlefield and scoops up one of the newly-fallen elves' cloaks (he had stored his own, clean, dry cloak safely in the fort). Arasmyth hurries to the kitchen, where he properly juices a pomegranite (according to Arthur's instructionc) and simmers the pomegranite juice until he has 1 ounce of grenadine syrup. He then juices an orange, separating out 1 1/2 ounces of orange juice (the rest he sets aside in case anyone else wants some). He swipes the bottle of rum the cook had unsuccessfully tried to hide behind his back the entire time, and adds it to the mix. Finally, he juices half a lime and uses the other half as garnish. If the boy was right, he thought, this uniquely-named drink should increase my spell powers for this battle, through "the power of pun." Whatever that is...well, I hope it works! He then bottles the Hurricane, preparing to drink it later. Arthur, meanwhile, rallies the rest of the Heroes to help him. "OK, I need two tall beams, and two more beams that WOULD be that tall, but they curve out to about ninety degrees, so they're about half the height of the tall beams. When you get the tall beams to the top of the tower, carve a groove in each one just big enough for a tiny wheel, then face the grooves toward each other, attach the curved beams to mirror each other such that the top of the curve is attached to the tall beam, and brace the whole thing for stability. oh, and carve similar grooves along the curved beams, again, facing each other. Meanwhile, I'm going to make three axles with tiny wheels to attach to them. Two of these will go through one side of an L-beam assembly I'm making, which I will brace with diagonal braces. (The assembly repeats itself on both sides, making a sort of cart that will roll along the grooves in the tall beams.) At the end of the L-beam that sticks out (toward the curved rails), a wheel-less axle will connect through a beam that will act as our firing arm, and its other end will be attached to the third wheel axle, which will roll along the curved rails. A stick attached to the end will be attached to a rope and sling (this elven cloak here), and the whole assembly will be powered by gravity. I will now break the fourth wall to show you a video that makes a lot more sense than my crazy explanation even though I don't understand what I just said. Oh, and lastly, I'm going to pack a bunch of small stones into clumps of mud and let them dry, creating a sort of scattershot ammunition that will still work with a sling-type catapult." OOC: In the spirit of Mardi Gras, please let at LEAST Arasmyth's Hurricane consumable work.
  15. Huh, I really like what you did there with the ghost. What made you take that route instead of the standard "white body black head" that Lego generally uses for that minifig?
  16. That sounds like a Heroica Quest hook. Oh wait... I agree, though, that would be great. I missed out on the CS1 Zombie and have an insufficient supply of undead. And I'm just a mage, not a necromancer.
  17. It's a shame, really. Dino Attack from a few years back was very interesting story-wise; heck, it had one of the better action-type website games of its time. This theme had the potential for so much more, to be the next Dino Attack, but it's not getting the push it would need. I suspect it's just another casualty of the other epic themes we're getting this year (after all, TLG can only put "full focus" on so many themes at once), but it's still a shame. Also, does anyone else wish that those yellow X-beam wall pieces came in a shade of gray or black, instead of yellow? I can think of so many ways to use a gray one of that piece, not so much a yellow one...
  18. Man, that looks epic. Too bad LEGO's already sent all my money for me across the other lines...
  19. I agree, the Bluto thing is a great Quest point. Though, they'd better be sure to give Bluto his gear back, and then he can fight his own way out. However...: Mages. MA-GES. 'Nuff said; Myth busted! *The above is in no way meant to diminish or impugn the awesomeness of the post indicated. The above is simply poking fun at the nonsensical world of Heroica in general. Also: Not before Arthur gets a chance at character development!
  20. Arthur sits down to rest, and reads De'kra's reply. As there seems to be nothing in particular to respond to, he decides to crack open the Quest 4 book he had brought with him. That's when he sees the Party Leader De'kra had mentioned: Just after him were listed three other familiar names...Cinna, De'kra, and Xander. Well, if these three trust this 'Tomas' character, Arthur thought, then I suppose I would not go wrong by seeking his advice. Dear Tomas, Greetings, my name is Arthur Justus Regulus VII, a Mage in the service of Heroica, apprentice of fellow Mage Althior Emorith the Most Bejeweled. I am currently helping the Lion Knights (as well as a friend of yours, I believe, Xander Unth'or) to defend Bric'bay Fort against the Brobric Elves, and, at my good friend De'kra's suggestion, have written this letter seeking your counsel. (It seems a great folly now not to have brought a Cleric such as yourself along with us, though of course hindsight is far clearer than foresight.) What manner of defense would you suggest against those beseiging us? I have attached a few pages of notes on the enemies we've faced, the defenses we have available, and the materials we have procured so far. As you can see, our catapult is far from up to par with the rest of our equipment and machinery; do you have any ideas on how we can upgrade it? Also, if you have any thoughts on other weaponry and/or trickery that might be useful to us, please, let me know. I look forward to meeting you in person back at Heroica Hall. Any friend of De'kra is a worthy companion in my book! Sincerely, --Arthur Justus Regulus VII Arthur also decides to write a letter to his friend Atramor. Dear Atramor, Hello, friend, it's been a while since we've seen each other. Did you manage to get on a Quest yet? I hope this letter finds you well. Let's cut to the chase, we are in need of your Rogueish ingenuity. We are besieged by the Elves, and they grow steadily stronger. I, meanwhile, am running out of ideas, and this is a very bad thing, especially considering that I am currently operating our weakest siege weapon, a crude counterweight catapult. Might you have any suggestions for improving it? Or for that matter, any of our other defenses? I have attached a few notes on what we have available to us and the strength of the Elven forces we have faced so far. I look forward to your reply! I hope that one day soon, we may Quest together. Until that day, Your now-less-clumsy magical friend, --Arthur Arthur clutches both letters in his hand and mutters, "I've got A-mail!"
  21. Arthur decides to scan the horizon with his telescope. "If the elves are sending most of their forces the way they just came, then let's leave the Slice N Dice where it is and have Spag keep it running until the Elves get here. If they're changing their tactics again, let's upgrade the Slice N Dice with any spare weapons we have on hand and move it to that location."
  22. Quest 19. Epicness. *passes out* Oh godsSylvania...if Arthur ever goes on a Wren Quest, I'm half expecting Wren to just kill him on sight. That or do some weird kidnapping-with-creepy-undertones thing like Baba Yaga is doing with Bluto in Quest 14...
  23. Welcome to EuroBricks! If you like castle, you'll LOVE the Heroica RPG. You don't have to build anything (well, aside from a mini-fig), but it's a great way to see a lot of awesome MOCs that, sadly, don't really make it to the Castle forums.
  24. Welcome to Eurobricks! Man, that's an awesome sig-fig...how did you do those shoulderpads?
  25. Welcome to Eurobricks! Paradox was always my favorite LEGO Universe faction...
