  1. That was my conclusion as well upon discovering the evil minifig distribution and the prices of the sets. Hopefully the first wave sets will see some discounts by the time the summer wave rolls around...
  2. The QM chews out the Arena Masters and/or the involved players, most likely.
  3. Ah. Gotcha. And while I have your attention, I would like to belatedly congratulate you for your BRILLIANT performance in Bloodbrick Mafia. I just read it a couple days ago, and...wow. Just, wow. I am in awe of your Mafia prowess.
  4. Actually, using a bunch of different hairpieces with the existing heads will get a fair number of characters. Add in the different outfits, and bizzare creations like the spider-robot Friends girl that was posted a while back, and the possibilities are limitless... Also, odd question, why is IMHOTEP indexed but Gotham City isn't?
  5. Allow me to present this eloquent (if overly harsh) excerpt from the Legacy of the Force TV Tropes page: Oh, and after re-reading Boba Fett: A Practical Man last knight, I have a sudden urge to buy all of Karen Traviss' books.
  6. Actually, if you look closely, the Hypnobrai emblem is faintly visible on the jewel in the staff. Same went for Fangpyre during the episode with Jay's parents. I haven't gotten a good look at the other two tribes' staffs, but I assume the same holds true for them; however, Pythor's staff distinctly did NOT have a logo of any sort. And maybe the Anacondrai antivenom makes the snake spit up anything it's swallowed?[/pure speculation]
  7. "We did indeed, we just haven't seen its stats had a chance to assess its abilities." "Don't worry about that, my friend, I'll have the finishing touches on it in just a moment!"
  8. [rant]You know what the problem with the PT and the FotJ series (and a lot of other stuff) is? Too many freaking Force-users. Jedi and Sith used to be so epic, because they were these lone characters with superpowers, and they were one-being-armies, but they could still be flanked and outnumbered and such, and the Badass Normals of the universe actually had a effect on the universe because they were there to back their allies up. That's one reason I loved the Legacy of the Force series, the normal folks like the Antilles family and the Mandalorians actually did things that affected the rest of the galaxy. It wasn't a bunch of Force-users flinging magic blasts at each other, there was politics, and intrigue, and fights that didn't involve Jedi, and despite the inconsistent writing, 2/3 of the time (Troy Denning I blame you for that missing third) Jacen was an interesting character to follow, as was Lumiya, at times you were almost rooting for them. But in the PT and in FotJ and several other series, the Jedi have become commonplace, and they steal the story from the truly interesting characters, like Han, Wedge, Boba Fett, etc. (And on that note, where in blazes have Threepio and Artoo been??? It seems like the moment the movies ended, they became little more than glorified can openers as far as plot goes. Artoo at least got some decent material in the Thrawn trilogy, but other than that...what happened to the days when characters like Bollux and Blue Max were the norm??)[/rant]
  9. No, it aired on Cartoon Network in the U.S. on Wednesday. Although, as a matter of policy, I think it would be a good idea to keep plot elements spoilertagged for 24-36 hours after airing, just for those who DVR the eps and don't get to watch them until Thurday.
  10. Agreed. Although, it took me a while to notice it, since I spend almost all my time in the Games forum.
  11. "Yes, but first I wish to make some last touches to this ingenious new catapult Arthur constructed." "Yes, I look forward to seeing its stats before we go into battle."
  12. OK, I MUST Know: what head did you use on the ninja?? In black and white, it makes me think SO much of hypnotized Cole from Ninjago, and so I MUST have it. Gimme! Also, IMO, if a player fails to send in night actions two game nights in a row, they should be replaced from the wait list. Just my ¥1.6238, feel free to disregard. EDIT: Being a substitute Hinckley much? Now you must start writing plays.
  13. I personally think that true chrome is cool in limited amounts--it makes the piece itself that much more special and unique. I have a single TLG-original chrome version of this piece, and it is the most epic thing ever (IMO). If there were tons of chrome minifig accessories and the like, it wouldn't be as special. That being said, if TLG were to decide to choose a bunch of parts to release in chrome, I'd prefer them to be some sort of minifig accessory--I wouldn't be able to bring myself to actually build with chrome regular bricks, I'd be too scared of scrtching them or otherwise runing them.
  14. Entry posted! Topic Link.
  15. Hey, guys, I finally finished my submission for the Star Wars Episode I Community Build! LXF File When I signed up for the Community Build, I thought about building a min-scale Jedi Temple. However, after thinking for a while, I decided I wanted to build something that was unique to The Phantom Menace, something iconic of Episode I that you couldn't see in any of the other Star Wars films. Naboo seemed to be getting a lot of attention from other CB entrants, and the only truly unique and iconic scene on Tatooine would be the podrace, something that's been done a LOT in MOCs already. I thought a bit about a Lucrehulk-class battleship, but the project seemed a bit too big for the time I had and the other projects I was working on--and besides, Lucrehulks can be seen in Attack of the Clones AND The Clone Wars--not exactly unique. I was trying to think of things that couldn't be found in other movies when I came up with the idea of Qui-Gon Jinn. I knew anything minifig-scale would have to be absolutely stunning in order to hold up to everything else on Eurobricks, so I came up with the idea of a brick-built lightsaber--and this was the result. I tried to keep it as accurate as I could, though certain details did elude me (in particular, I wish I could figure out a way to make the ribbing above the activation button more accurate, it should be using more of a 4x4 curve but I'm limited by the construction of the side panels). Overall, though, I'm happy with what I managed to accomplish, especially considering this was my first time attempting to build a brick sculpture like this. I used LDD Extended mode and thus completely ignored whether the parts I needed really existed in those colors. I'm pretty sure you could just substitute light gray or light stone gray parts for the metallic silver and build this for real, but then again it's not the strongest thing either--most of the lightsaber is held together by the 2x4 tiles on the bottom, and the part that holds the activation button on is actually an integral part of the structure. Still, if anyone wants to give it a go, be my guest. I hope you enjoy! Comments and criticism are most appreciated!
  16. To be fair to Jaina-Jag, that one is kind of locked into "But Thou Must" due to backstory requirements for the Legacy comic series. Regardless of what you think of the couple, you can rest assured that their descendents are absolutely Epic. I've never read Twilight either, and now I'm thinking that I'll be adding Fate of the Jedi to that "illustrious" list.
  17. Lol, here's a perfect description of the LEGO Minecraft set. I don't know who made this:
  18. True, but IDK, Mara seems a bit more...wholesome than this girl in the new books. By the time she met Luke in Heir, she'd had a few years to sort of "cool off", she never seemed THAT dark. Obviously, compared to Luke himself, she's a lot darker, but that's like comparing silver jewelery to a sheet of pure white paper--they're both pretty bright, it's just that one is a bit darker than the other. (It probably helps that I haven't read any MJ stuff that takes place pre-Heir, either.) Then again, the new girl is probably either a poorly-written rehash of MJ-Luke, or else they're turning it into a gender-flipped Twilight. Jude Watson's stuff is pretty good. It's obviously dumbed down just a little bit (kind of like Ninjago the TV show is), and the editors were terrible about catching spelling and name errors, but the stories themselves are alright. They're miles above TPM and Troy Denning. (Oh, and to add on to my earlier point: Denning's work is worse than TPM and the Anakin-Padme excuse-for-a-love-story combined Seriously. Only ever read it for plot exposition of other works, and then only if you have to, it's terrible.) Well, that actually sounds kinda interesting, like "oh are they gonna meet, are they gonna meet, oh, they just missed each other!" As long as it doesn't get to the point of, "Really? They still don't get it after THAT obvious slip-up?" *cough*NinjagoKai'sNonexistentAbilityToKeepASecret*cough*, then I'm down with it, and I actually kinda like those scenarios.
  19. That looks SO epic... My only criticism is, the mech looses a little something by not having that green Kryptonite cable running to the gun. (I understand how one by itself might look a bit wimpy, but maybe two to four clustered together would look alright.) That, and I feel like the lower legs might could be just a tad longer--even just a stud or two would help a bit. But these are minor nit-picks, great job!
  20. And so, I achieve one of the hidden goals I set for myself upon starting Heroica: do something so awesome that I manage to gain experience for it. Although, now I'm expecting a total bloodbath, with this extra help arriving--there must be some bad things coming out to get us... Also, with Count Knyghton's punny name...does that mean we're fighting at night now?
  21. Arthur Uses his telescope to find the Brobric Elves' directions of attack. Sir Knyghton, meanwhile, collects the makeshift swords (that weren't doing anyone any good anyway) and adds them to the Slice N Dice as extra blades, using just a small amount of rope for each. "The more the merrier, I always say!" he quips. OOC: Hmm, Luke has a Diamond. I think that means we're facing undead soon...
  22. Remember that wacko fan theory about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, about Indy dying in the fridge incident and the rest of the movie being just a dream? Well, from the plot synopses of the FotJ stuff coming out, I may have to concoct one about Luke dying when they do that weird netherworld-of-the-Force thing and the rest of the series being non-canon. (Speaking of which, as much as I like Luke, they've got to kill him off soon. His dramatic arc has nowhere left to go, not to mention we're getting dangerously close to the backstory timeline for the awesome Legacy comics. FotJ would have been a much better concept if Luke just mysteriously died right after the trial business and everyone else had to pick up the pieces from there, IMO.) Though, I do like the concept of Ben dating a darksider, if that were done well it would be a VERY interesting read. However, I doubt it's being done well. Choices of One...definitely one I'll check out. It can't be worse than the ending to Millennium Falcon, that's for sure... These days, I find myself sticking to older stuff as I can find it. I still need to find a paperback of the second book of the Thrawn trilogy, I have Heir to the Empire and The Last Command, but Dark Force Rising always seems to be out of stock. I'm likely going to just pick up everything with Mara Jade in it eventually. Or everything by Aaron Allston and Karen Traviss (NOT Troy Denning, I could barely get through his books...).
  23. Why??? Was that the one that got cut off in the middle or something?
  24. Obviously, I'm not expecting anyone to bust out supernatural Spinjitsu powers all of a sudden (though that would be freaking epic if it were possible ). I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this sort of soul-searching. "True Potential" is the phrase I use because of how Ninjago describes it; it makes it understandable if you've watched the show. Perhaps a more generic (and thus clearer) phrasing would be: "What is the one thing in your life that holds you back?" And what steps have you taken to find out the identity of this obstacle, or to remove it? It's a sort of metaphysical thing, that defies direct description, but when you're headed in the right direction, you just...know. You may not know how far you've come, or what the ultimate goal is, but you know when you're on the right path. I apologise if none of that makes sense, like I said, these things are not easy to put into words.
