Thank you, Dame Goodall, for that assessment. I'll have to align myself for Bard or Beastmaster. Here's my planned alliances: Zeigfrieds Ji Pei Shadeaux (unless Bard is Hinckwell, in which case I have no clue which I'd do...) Wolfgang (since there's no appreciable reason for going Town Watch, and it fits my character better.)

I'm a few days late, but whatever. I really enjoyed it--and it makes me miss Mara Jade even more. (Yes, Sacrifice was awesome and made of win, and there really was no other way to end it, but I'm still sad we had to lose Mara.) As for TPM3D, I'm wondering if I should go see it or not. On the one hand, I didn't manage to see TPM in theatres at all, I had to watch on VHS the first time, but on the other... Let's also remember, for the sake of fairness, that George Lucas' worst work is far, far better than many other directors' best work. TPM's no Raiders of the Lost Ark or Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade or The Empire Strikes Back, but it's not exactly Twilight either, and there are PLENTY of movies worse than TPM out there.

Thanks! BTW, have you seen the topic I linked in my last post? The one about True Potential?

New York Toy Fair Coverage Part Two: Ninjago
Flipz replied to Aanchir's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Psst...9591 Tool Pack has NRG Kai, not Kendo Kai. Wow, and ouch. OK, so you know what? Forget any other themes I wanted this year...all my money has to go to Ninjago. Let's add up the sets I need to get, shall we? 9445 Fangpyre Truck Ambush--USD 49.99 (For the Fangpyre general) 9446 Destiny's Bounty--USD 79.99 (For the epicness and for Wu and Skales) 9570 NRG Jay--USD 9.99 9572 NRG Cole--USD 9.99 9590 NRG Zane--USD 9.99 9591 Tool Pack--USD 19.99 (For NRG Kai and the epic trans-orange snakes) 9448 Samurai Mech--USD 39.99 (For Samurai X/Nya and the exclusive snakes and Constrictai fang blade) 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider--USD 79.99 (For Pythor, extra Sword of fire, and the Fangpyre fang blade) 9450 Epic Dragon Battle--USD 119.99 (For obvious reasons ) 9557 Lizaru--USD 4.99 (For the trans-green hanging snakes) 9552 Lloyd Garmadon--USD 4.99 (For pre-Green Ninja Lloyd) Added together, that's Over 9000! $429.89! Even if I took off the booster packs, the Fangpyre Truck Ambush, and the Samurai Mech, it's still at $329.93! That spells doom for any other themes this year. -
The person above you does, yes. Interesting...I may have to tweak one of Arthur's backstory "plays"--he already was one of those Expert Classes before he came to Heroica. Hmm...idea...lemme check some things before I actually try to do it, though...

General Discussion and Announcements
Flipz replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, reading the games themselves CAN be helpful, if you know what to look for. My goal is to have read through the Mafia games that I've seen tons of references to after the fact (Bloodbrick I and II, Baritones, The Forest, Werewolf, etc.) and glean what I can from them. Here's the ones I've finished so far, and the lessons I learned from them (spoilers ahead!): *Western Mafia-What NOT to do in a Mafia game. *Witch Hunt Mafia-An interesting experimental concept, there's some lessons on appearing scummy and on team coordination there, but given the unusual setup it's mostly just a really entertaining read. Also an EXCELLENT reminder never to overlook ANY hint given by the game mod--the title was a dead giveaway after the first few days. *Hogwarts Mafia-I haven't read completely through this, but it's an excellent example of a Mafia with tons of roles with variable night actions. *Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum-Possibly the most epic town fail ever. GREAT Scum action tactics early on (getting members of the Scum into the inner circle), and they just get better with time. In particular, Lord Arjay played a masterful game in managing to get himself off the hook multiple times, in spite of a host-provided clue that condemned him. I'm, uh...kinda glad he's not around these days, I would be completely toast against him. Also shows why rampant metagaming *cough*killingShadows*cough* is NOT a good idea. *Baritones 3-Great example of a multi-scum game (well, aside from Prison Riot, but I haven't read all the way through that). Not much more to say, other than I am fully addicted to Hinckley's plays because of this and IMHOTEP. *Gotham City Mafia-I need to re-read this one now that I understand more of the Mafia terminology and strategy, see what I can glean from it. The Scum writeboard (link is in the conclusion topic) is a very interesting read, very helpful in seeing the way Scum think. I wish more Scum writeboards would be made public after games, it's VERY educational for new and old players alike. *The Curse of IMHOTEP-The most epic Mafia I've read through so far. Seriously. The story was great, the names (and behavior!) were hilariously filthy, and it contains some of the best playing I've seen so far. Then again, I may be biased, since it was the first Mafia I got to watch all the way through. Still on my to-read list (in no particular order): *Werewolf Mafia *The Forest Mafia *Mystery Castle Mafia *Galactic Paranoia Mafia *Baritones 1 and 2 *Mystical Castle Mafia *Mafia School: Escape from Isla Paradisa *Mafia School: Fabuland Housewives *Mafia School: Cirque du Freak Any any others that are recommended to me. -
For the four five Ninja of Ninjago, the answers might be guessed-- For us, however, the issue is more complex. What would unlock your personal True Potential? For me, personally, I've been asking myself variations of this question for a long time ("What is the dramatic obstacle in my Hero's Journey?", "What is the great challenge of my life?", etc.). Sometimes I feel I've come close to the truth, but I've never quite stumbled across the exact problem--or its solution. But when I do--look out!

Link to the music page please? I had it bookmarked, but somehow lost it... As to the spoiler...Wu talked about unlocking your True Potential meaning two things: 1. Perfect physical condition (Check for all four Ninja, and possibly for Nya as well) 2. You must uncover that great inner conflict that holds you back. For Zane, that meant recovering the memories of his past. So, based on number 2, the spoiler about Jay makes sense; in order to unlock his True Potential, he has to There's an obvious "question to my fellow fans" here, but all things considered I think I should post a separate topic instead, as it could be rather topic-derailing. (I'll edit a link in to this post.) EDIT: Link added.

I'ma miss Jedi Temple Mafia... -
I feel so stupid. :wall: :wall: HOW did it take me this long to realize that the Houses are named after the Root Admins?!?! Hinckwells-Hinckley Shadeaux-Shadows (technically he's in a different group, but the rivalry with Hinckley the Hinckwells gives it away) Zeigfrieds-Seigfried Guild of Invision-invision Bonapartes-Bonaparte (I saw this one right away, but thought it was the only one) Ji Pei-Jipay The Ji Pei and the Guild of Invision I could be forgiven for missing, as those two admins aren't really active around this board, and even the Shadeaux, since I just assumed it was from supplementary Fright Knights material that I never knew about (like the Classic Space comics and the like). But the Zeigfrieds? And especially the Hinckwells, since I interacted with Hinckley a ton in commenting about IMHOTEP after he died. I feel kinda bad about Arthur badmouthing the Hinckwells now (even though it DOES fit his character)...

The Glee version of Stronger (What doesn't kill you). As much as it pains a Gleek like me to say it, it's not as good as the original, but at the same time there's something about Heather Morris' voice that I can't resist.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Flipz replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
 YES. I heartily approve these changes! Now I think I might get around to uploading some project ideas. Cuusoo seems to have its act (mostly) together, and the folks behind it seem to be reasonably competent and on the level, so I feel fairly safe about uploading some things. -

"No, I still think we should have them set up on different walls, ready to go. Put them on a door, we only have a chance at hitting one Elf. Put them on a wall, and we can damage a whole group of them. We haven't used these traps yet, but I have a feeling we will need them in the final battle." -

No one can ever relace ADHO. Forever shall he be cherished in our hearts, as the greatest, the mightiest--...*snicker* Nope, couldn't keep a straight face through it. (Sorry, ADHO! ) -

The vote threshold was a LOT lower, which probably helped. It also probably helped that the site was only out for Japan and the Japanese people are more familiar with Hayabusa than we are. -
Not cyborg. Android. There's a difference; one is half-human, half-machine, while the other is completely an artificial construct.

Me? I started out on Irregular Webcomic!, then added Brickworld Saga (recently re-named Brick Earth Saga and resumed from hiatus), Reasonably Clever a.k.a. Brick House, and Darths & Droids. More recently, I started reading Planescape Survival Guide and brick comic Harry Potter Comics (both by the same guy) and Order of the Stick. Adn of course, like pretty much every Darths & Droids fan, I've read through DM of the Rings.

Another pink envelope poofs out of midair next to Arthur. He sighs. "That (w)itch, using MY family's magic for HER profit...*mutter mutter grumble grumble string of filthy expletives complain complain complain*..." He reads the letter from Alf. He decides he has time to respond before returning to work on the new catapult. Hey there, Alf! I'm doing OK--I got my first kill a couple of battles back! These Elves are tough, though--it's going to take everything we've got to beat them in these final few waves. Huh? How did you find out I became Althior's apprentice? Are Alexis' spirits being gossips again, because if they are, I swear I never-- OUT! OUT OF MY LETTER, FINNEGAN! ALTHIOOOOR!! Listen, I gotta go. Got any advice for beating the Elves? I think we're running out of time for this wave, but perhaps we can set some things up before the very final round. Oh, before I forget, How much would it take to buy the Healing Staff off you? Don't worry, I'm keeping a tally of how much I owe you for the rental, but it's proven quite useful, and it'd save me a bundle on Potions over time. Oh, and one last thing, if you see a Monk named Pretzel? Give him a good beatdown, would ya? His Z-mails have touched my last nerve! (Just try not to get caught--I'd hate to see you get in trouble. Too bad there's no gladiator ring at the Hall, you'd have a real reason to challenge him then! ) Your Friend, --Arthur OOC: Don't take it personally, palathadric, I love your roleplaying. Arthur is the one who can't stand it, not me.

...sorry to see you go, ADHO. After seeing you play aloysius in IMHOTEP, I was looking forward to see what you would do with this character. Hope everything goes well for you at work! -
fix'd that for ya. IMO, battles shouldn't pop out of nowhere, but neither should they be excessively foreshadowed (with the exception of boss battles, which of course should be foreshadowed by the entire Quest to that point). The more genre savvy and/or paranoid players should be able to sense an impending fight and down a potion of something, while those who aren't paying attention should be caught off-guard. One thing I like about the Heroica system is that it allows for players who are prepared for surprises without complicated rules for a "surprise round" like many RPGs use. Is it a necessary evil in those games? Yes. But I'm glad that, here in Heroica, character awareness is based on player awareness (as far as surprise and the like are concerned).
