Yes, thank you for clearing that up. (I really need to learn how to be clearer, a mistake like that would get me lynched in mafia... )

no, what I'm saying is, the WP of an elemental-imbued staff will still increase the power of a spell, even if the staff is imbued with an element other than that of the spell. You're right, that was a confusing way of putting it, sorry.

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"We'll need Alexandre for his Diplomatic presence, but if we dress in Elven clothing and use an Elven accent--Arasmyth, I'm sure you could teach us what we need to know, and can translate for us if needed--we should be able to walk into the enemy camp and bluff them into thinking Alexandre and I are a pair of mercenaries who you, a mid-ranking Brobric commander, hired to infiltrate Heroica after the bloodbath at the end of Quest 4. We'd bring "evidence" that several defenders are dead, and encourage them to move before they are ready, while the fort's defenses are "weak". We'd heal up and resupply at the camp, then move out with the Elves, possibly sending a message back with the enemy stats, if possible. For the first round of this final wave, we'd attack you guys and the soldiers would scramble around like they're surprised and weakened, then when the rest of you move into position we'd start attacking the Brobric point-blank from behind, surprising and decimating their ranks. So, what do you guys think? Is this a good plan or not?" OOC: This is the final wave, right? Or is there one more after this? If there's another wave, we should hold off until that last one. "While the rest o' ya debate this plan, I'm goin' ta partially fix up th' Elven bridge as well, but rig it ta collapse into th' river when enough weight is on it. If anyone would like ta donate a fire bomb ta this trap, I'd be much obliged." -
Unless it's made to be a special property of this staff, I think it's limited to melee damage, but the WP would still be relevant for Ice spells, the way Arasmyth's Wind-elemental staff still increases the strength of his Lightning spells.

OOC: That's fine, I'll probably keep it as-is and use it this way for a while anyway. "Althior, I have a plan that's just crazy enough to work, but I need Alexandre and possibly Arasmyth to pull it off, and we may be out of action for some time. Interested?" -
No, but perhaps someone had drafted a message to me or something. Anyway, the problem corrected itself after I recieved and viewed a new PM.

Hey, guys, I've looked back a couple pages but haven't seen anything about this... You know the little green number in a box that appears in the upper-right corner of the screen (next to the user control panel shortcut)? Well, mine shows that I have two unread messages, but I've read everything I've been sent; there are no new messages. It's just a minor bug, but one I thought I'd mention. Also, speaking of the upper-right conrner controls, the drop-down box doesn't work properly for me; it'll pop out for a moment, and before I can click an option I'm dropped straight to my profile page. It's probably an IE9 and/or Windows 7 issue, but if there's a solution I'm all ears.

Anyone feel like digging through 2012 Rumors and Discussion for any info we may already have? I'd do it, except it would make me too depressed that I can't afford any Star Wars this year. But if the May the Fourth and/or Revenge of the Fifth/Sixth promos are good enough, just maybe...

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I'd like the Warlock staff, please. I wouldn't mind the Robe, either. I'd be happy to contribute my remaining gold to the loot and to not get a share of this battle's gold in exchange for those two items." "While you lot divide up tha loot, I'll repair all our siege weapons." -
I expect about half of the comments from enemies would be something along those lines if "enemy quotes" were used in all Quests.
-
Agreed, though I can forgive Doc for not doing it since he has so many enemies to control.

OOC: Oh, that's right, I forgot you were traveling! Sowwy. -
Yeah, that's him, I was just too lazy to look. It's funny, I can remember Nuitan's name just fine, but if I try and think of Lyren I instantly forget his name.

I'm waiting for the Quest with the two kids from the school (Nuitan Shadeaux and the Hinckwell boy whose name constantly escapes me).

OOC: I think everyone's posted their actions... Arthur, now that he's been healed, again targets Warlock C from the back row with an Ice spell. -
Argeed. *thinks of something to say about that last bit but stays silent so as not to be mean*

Have you ever read the book Flipped? It's a great read (especially considering the young age of the audience it's aimed at), and it involves dual perspective. For every event in the story, you get a chapter in which it's told from the boy's perspective and a chapter in which the same story is told from the girl's perspective. That might be kind of cool to see for your novel, and if nothing else, difference in perspective are a great way to handwave any inconsistencies that might arise.

A few thoughts on tonight's episode (Episode 9) Because of the references in this episode (specifically, the shout-out at the beginning indicates that the Fang Blade was found a long time ago) and the designs of the ninjas' parents looking like older versions of Collectible Series minifigs, I'm putting out the theory that Ninjago takes place in the far future of all the other LEGO themes. It sort of makes sense, in a weird way. And Kalhiki, that's a great catch, and almost 100% chance it's true; it's well known that the LU team was working very closely with the Ninjago team because of the expansions to the Ninjago zone that were planned for this year.

*COUGH* *Points at my character's name.* Are you tryin' to get the heroes confused as to who the real Arthur is?
-
You know, I've been meaning to ask, Rumble Strike, what torso piece is Tarn using? It'd be extremely useful for a MOC I'm planning, and so I'll want to Bricklink a few at some point.

Arthur sees that the Warlock is strong. Dangerously so. He decides that if Luke doesn't heal him, he will redirect his spell to Engineer B instead. -
Ideas for New Action Themes
Flipz replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
YES. This, in combination with the time-travel idea above. For added Shout Out potential, one of the time-travelers is a chef; he would be a Thyme Lord, complete with a punny name of some kind. (See the webcomic Reasonably Clever for info on Thyme Lords.) -

Arthur yells at Luke. "Luke! Luuuuuuke! I could use a heal, otherwise Warlock C could take me out!" OOC: Does the back row half the Elven Warlocks' damage, since it's such a far distance, or do they get the same benefit as Mages do from their "class"? If they still deal full damage, I'll attack Elven Engineer B instead. -
Yakuza Family - Confirmation and Discussion

And this is why you have to stalk people individually when you're playing Mafia. -
Dear god, that's awesome. Eric must join me when Arthur gets to partake in a Wren Quest now.
