Now you know what it must be like for the QMs trying to calculate Ratsbane. ...well, OK, I'll admit that Benji's bow is just a little strange in terms of elemental combinations.

You're a Knight, PK, you should be able to send a PM to two recipients. Heck, in 100 posts, you'll be a Count and be able to send a PM to three at a time. Even if a user is at too low of a rank to CREATE group PMs, they can still participate in them.

That's one of the things I really enjoyed about playing with Obelix on Quest 51, was his active participation in our group player PM. It really helped keep an interesting dynamic for our party, and it's something I hope he continues in the future. It clearly worked well in Quest 55, that's for sure!

I meant the mention of that Orcish chieftan, Karg of the Shivering Axe, I don't recall the name ever being mentioned before. Yes, that was fun, if I had been a little less busty in real life at the time, I would have tried to push that a little more, just for kicks. Speaking of IRL business, sorry I haven't been spamming your inbox corresponding with in-character conversations, I really wanted to chat with Felton and Gray and Mallelio before one or all of them get themselves killed, but I just haven't had the time.

Welcome, Kintobor! Good to see another Rogue that's not a human male--we kind of have an excess of those (and yes, I'm guilty of it as well ). And Zeph, are those obvious Quest hooks in the Hall of your devising or of Sandy's?

^^Watch this. It's invaluable advice, and I've already been working on a couple of similar concepts for portions of my own Quests.

Exactly. I challenge anyone who thinks Jake Lloyd's performance in that movie was bad to try doing it better, using the lines from the script.
-
No, but you CAN sign up for more than one. The QMs will talk things over and decide who gets to take which characters.
-
Totally agreed. The awkwardness that was there came from the script, IMO, not the performance.
-
Keep in mind, though, they totally negate use of a shield.

I did, I'll try digging it up later (though some things have changed since then), but for now: Witches: One of the more flexible classes. They do well when they can give and take many Effects; artifacts that grant immunity to elements and Effects suit them well, thanks to Special Mirror. Scrolls might be a good idea, depending on what you're facing. Druids: I think by now everyone knows what Druids are good for. Just make sure you have immunity to Sealed (Robe of the Archmagi offers that AND SP, so it's a good choice), and preferably have a bow on hand to take advantage of Back Row priveleges. Keep Nostrums on hand for emergencies. Paladins: Play as a Knight. Simple as that. Counterstrike Gloves are a must, as is true for any Knight-based class. Shamans: This one's a bit tricky. Barbarians sit in an odd niche where there's not a lot of gear aimed specifically at them (or at least, not really prominent gear--Haldor's Bear Claw Gloves are one of the few really interesting Barbarian items, and they're not exactly suited for optimization given their low WP compared to his other gear). SP is a good idea, as are weapon upgrades--you are the hardest-hitting of the Clerics, so WP and Mead are going to be your most common purchases. A lot of the more "Cleric-y" items will end up being less useful on Shamans, due to the shift in role. If you get a good weapon with an Effect on it, upgrade that sucker as much as you can. Sages: Hoo boy. Prevent Sealing at all costs. Your weapon is useless except as WP, so if you have an Effect weapon, sell it to a Hero and buy a generic weapon with better WP. Spellbound Gloves are a great idea, as is anything that can cause the Blessed-effect on healing. A strady supply of Tonics and Grand Tonics are a must. Sages are HARD to play in general unless you've been building toward them; however, an elementally-specialized Sage (i.e. focuses only on Water and Ice, or Water and Wood, or something to that effect) could be an interesting strategy. As for who plays well with Paladin: Shaman, Witch, possibly Sage. All three can cause damage from SHIELD rolls, which is a must for working with the offensively-challenged Paladins.

Galen with his Wrench, Rubber Band, and Hide of the Wound--and take note that it's well-built enough that it would have worked with the old "two Artifacts per Hero, period" policy! On the plus side, both Experts should be dead, since it DRAWS the extra attacks to them rather than just negating them; it's one of the ways that the Mystic Knights' and Battle Mages' SHIELD has an advantage over other Mage AC SHIELDs.

Wow, this'll take some time to think over, but I'll DEFINITELY be submitting my vote!

In response to Harkenshire trying to take everything from the Harbormaster's Office that wasn't nailed down: Hmm, I wonder which character William might have picked up that tendency from. ...or maybe it was the other way around...
-
I went the opposite way; originally, Caroline was going to be my second character, and then I decided she was a bad person and couldn't stand playing her as a Hero.
-
Yeah, but your Pogs are meaner than his Proggs.
-
Same, I just built Chi Monk Arthur over the weekend, though I want to run it by Pep to see if it's anime-looking enough. Same goes for Shadeaux.
-
You're sure it's some new character, and not just a drunk Arthur with too much Ether to burn?
-
Ah. In that case, looks like it's time to play artifact tag again when the groups reunite! (Alexis should use the Cat O' Nine Tails and the Scarf, since she has enough Power to overcome SP, while Dyric uses his bow and his Lucky Die and maybe lives longer. )
-
OOC: Dyric should have done 17 damage to all enemies, since the Cat O'Nine Tails deals full damage to all enemies, unlike the Explosive Staff.

I pronounce it "STIG-vel-ah-di COT-tur-in", is that incorrect? I pronounce Dreyrugur "DRAY-ruh-ger", which I think is the correct pronunciation. My real pronunciation challenge is Nerwen's last name. :tongut:

QM goof. I have to admit, I feel a little bad for Zeph, having to deal with all of our crazy stats and item changes. Then I remember the latest three sets of battles, and just sit back and grin wickedly.
-
When did that happen?! I thought Sandy specifically said shields COULDN'T be upgraded with gems or scrolls, in response to Docken wanting to imbue them into the shield. Not that I'm complaining, it's useful knowledge for character 2. Sandy, can gems be unmerged from shields like they can with weapons and Artifacts?

And how many times did you ACTUALLY use Animal Talk?
