Here's an idea: since it's sort of become Benji's schtick, why not run with it? Switch between Assassin and Warden every Quest, and let everything else go from there. Assassin funds Warden, Warden keeps Benji conscious to gain more experience and is somewhat more useful to the party (not a dig at Assassins, it's just that a fair chunk of enemies are Immune to Assassination, and bosses in particular tend to be immune to it, whereas Wardens can always absorb damage for the party, though even that has its disadvantages). Might be an interesting way to play.

Yeah, that's the best way to put it, what villains do you most love to hate in Heroica? Nah, I'm looking to study the best, in order to create the best.
-
You know, voting for the awards just now reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask...what are each QM's most hated villains? You know, like how EVERYONE absolutely loathes Vonnetate, or how Guts and Nerwen's party hated Sorona with a burning firey passion. Who is each QM's most hated villain, living, dead, and soon-to-be-dead?
-
I'm down for it. Can I nominate De'kra and Cronk for one of those Quests? I'd also be willing to help host personal Quests (if I can manage to get the Quest I'm working on done first), even if it's just running battles. Does this new Quest by chance involve Illdria?

Arthur grits his teeth; this was going to be close. "I certainly hope that your god smiles upon you in your healing, Sir Cronk. I will do as you ask." Arthur casts a Light spell at Expert A from the Back Row, channelling the spell through Sir Roderick's Sword.
-
Arthur nods, attacking Master B physically from the Front Row with the Staff of Ennon, unless it is already dead, in which case he attacks Master A physically from the Front Row with the Staff of Ennon.
-
Cronk's attempt to rationalize why bashing Tensi repeatedly with a Healing Staff would please his Guardian Angel remains one of my favorite moments in Heroica. Well, apparently some characters don't like listening to Arthur talk, so... Ah, that makes a lot of sense now. I wish it had been indicated just a little more openly, I see now several references that went completely over my head. When I first saw the special, I just assumed a copy-paste mistake. Also, Pandora, why exactly is Arthur a coward? I don't think she was at the Guffington battle...?
-
...end...you...

OOC: I thought Lucky always took the higher option, even if that means it's less than advantageous? Speaking of which, Zeph, did you roll for Cronk's Cloak of Deception use?
-
"Lady Nyx, may I suggest that in the future, if you try to heal Hans, keep your Aquamarine on hand, so that if you instinctively cast a spell it will cause no damage to him. The same goes for Thothwick with your Amethyst, though he can heal himself as well. This round it matters not, though, let's focus our fire on one or two targets to take them out as quickly as possible. My vote goes to Master A, so if it is killed our attacks will move to Master B. Alexis, I suggest switching to your bow now that both Apprentices are dead." Arthur attacks Master A physically from the Front Row with the Staff of Ennon.

Creepy. Croak.
-
The same reason CorneliusMurdock hates you. In other news...no Etherial Letters?
-
... I get it now, for some reason I thought Zee couldn't be harmed while there were enemies around period. This happened to me in 38, too, if you recall. "Fair point, Cronk. I still think that, once we are healed up, only Lucky party members should target Master A, to prevent another disastrous Croak."
-
"You make a fair point, Lady Nyx. Actually, now that I think of it, only those of us who are Lucky should target the Masters, especially Master B, to prevent a repeat performance. We SHOULD have someone target Zee, though, preferably someone who's not Lucky, since we'll need to trigger her Special several times before the Soulless will die. Shame we have no other means of draining her Ether."

Flare, I hate you so much...

OOC: Just realized that my Round 1 SHIELD should have gained me 300 gold instead of 200, thanks to Sticky Gloves. "Sir Cronk, what do you recommend us to do? If even one of us takes time off to heal, we will incur Free Hits, and few of us could handle those--most of us will be Knocked Out if we take damage at all. We also must revive Sir Poletad...we must!" In lieu of a better plan Arthur raises his Healing Staff against himself in the Back Row, unless Cronk orders a different action, in which case he follows orders.
-
Sleep prevents Free Hits.
-
Fix'd. (Because it tempts the QM to make Specials that will take out the Witch in one shot as a counter to Special Mirror, which, thanks to Witches' relatively high Health, generally makes the enemies incredibly scary for all the other Heroes, too. )
-
"I see no problem." Arthur repeats. Paladin Shrine Battle Summary (confirmed actions are in Bold as usual): >Cronk (Zoot's Bane) vs. Expert B (Back row) >Hans (Sword of Dastan) vs. Master B (Back Row) >Nyx (Light, Book of a thousand Creatures) vs. Master A >Thothwick (Shuriken) vs. Master B >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Apprentice A >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Apprentice B >Arthur (physical attack, Staff of Ennon) vs. Expert A (Back Row) >Poletad heals ally with lowest health (Back Row) Free Hits: Zee Free Hit vs. Cronk I'd actually suggest Sleep vs. Vonnetate for first action, then Sleep again if it fails or Armor Sundering if it's successful. That'll give Haldor 3 free turns to Sunder the hell out of him and then status up some of the rest before Vonnetate wakes up. Also note that Vonnetate CAN be sealed.
-
See here, Alexis had cast a Light spell as well as being Encouraged.
-
"Lady Nyx, I implore you to use Light, Darkness will hardly damage these Dark foes." Paladin Shrine Battle Summary (confirmed actions are in Bold as usual): >Cronk (Zoot's Bane) vs. Expert B (Back row) >Hans (Sword of Dastan) vs. Master B (Back Row) >Nyx (Light, Book of a thousand Creatures) vs. Master A >Thothwick (Shuriken) vs. Master B >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Apprentice A >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Apprentice B >Arthur (physical attack, Staff of Ennon) vs. Expert A (Back Row) >Poletad heals ally with lowest health (Back Row) Free Hits: Hans Free Hit vs. Master A Zee Free Hit vs. Cronk

Split between two Bomb XXs it is, then!
-
Also, I've come up with an explanation for the way time works in Heroica! The Veterans' spell (the one that prevents Heroes from dying) has the side-effect of increasing the flow of time in Heroes' immediate vicinity whenever they're away from the Hall. This ultimately results in Heroes being somewhat short-lived for their species, but the rate of deaths from failures of the spell and the little attention given to those who leave Heroica mean that this statistic goes largely unnoticed. What about Row? Does the player-side damage take Row into account? I'm trying to figure out if we can safely load all of the XX gear onto one Bomb XX without blowing up the entire party, or if we should split it between two Bomb XXs.
-
Speaking of Bomb XX, does the effects of X1 apply to the party-side damage as well?
