I think that, now that Mystic Knights and Battle Mages have been clarified, the Healing Staff is fine. Those classes have specific cases made for their SHIELD rolls, and everything else is fine as stated in Sandy's new FAQ addition. Note, however, that with the exception of Mystic Knights, the healer doesn't have a chance to heal the whole party on a SHIELD, and also Healing Staffs can't be used outside of battle. Plus there's a limited number of them, and there will likely never be any more, so...

With healing and (depending on Sandy's clarification), Light-elemental attacks. Besides, some enemies aren't meant to be beaten. And honestly, I was mostly asking for purposes of making sure my character can handle such an enemy, I wasn't planning to make one. Although if you'd like I could always make an exception... Solar Flare Level 40 Undead/Etherial *Immune to physical attacks* *Immune to elements* *Immune to Light* *Immune to Assassination* *Favors Wardens (x3 damage)* HP: 640/640 Defense: 20 Special: Blinding Blaze - The Solar Flare radiates an aura of light and flame, causing 30 Fire-elemental damage, Blinding all opponents for 3 Rounds, and Burning the Hero who rolled Special Damage for 3 damage per Round for the rest of the Quest (Burn cannot be remedied). Passive Special: Wrath Igniter - The Solar Flare ignites the recklessness and anger of any Hero targetting it, causing them to become Encouraged, Enraged, and Fragile for the rest of the battle or until remedied. Passive Special II: Intangible - Attacks that do not deal damage do not transmit Effects to the Solar Flare. (Scrolls will still work.) Drops: 5x Megabloking Worthless Accessory (does absolutely nothing, wasting the Artifact slot and counting towards the bearer's total Artifact limit. May not be sold or traded, must always be worn while owned. Breaks after 15 battles.)

So, question, would an Undead Etherial enemy take no damage from anything but healing, or would it take 1x damage from Light spells/weapons?
-
Darkness does NOT do double damage on Heroes. I personally think that it'd just be easier to establish what SHIELDs and Miss rolls are altered by the Healing Staff and which ones are not right now, and then the item won't be that big of a problem anymore. Tentative list: Unaffected by Healing Staff: Cleric Druid Evoker Paladin Sage Shaman Sorcerer Witch Necromancer Regulator Prophet Altered by Healing Staff: Mystic Knight (heals entire party via Spellspin mechanic) Battle Mage (???) Mage (???)

"Sir Cronk, my eyes seem to have decieved me. I should go early, so that my Jinxing of Zee benefits everyone who comes after me."
-
"Sir Cronk, I MUST go last, and the rest of you MUST take down Expert B before my attack. If I can Jinx Zee, this battle will be ours!" Arthur casts an Earth spell at Zee from the Back Row.
-
Arthur switches his target to Expert A (still casting Light through Sir Roderick's Sword from the Back Row).

If Phil's hammer is Fire-elemental, then shouldn't it deal double damage to Vonnetate, cancelling his Back Row penalty from the last two Rounds? Fish Market Battle Summary: Haldor uses Scroll of Armor Sundering on Vonnetate (Front Row) Haldor uses Scroll of Armor Sundering on Vonnetate (Front Row) Haldor uses Scroll of Armor Sundering on Vonnetate (Front Row) If any unsuccessful, Haldor uses Scroll of Armor Sundering on Vonnetate (Front Row) OR If all Armor Sunders are successful, Scroll of Frailty (Front Row) >Skrall (Hunter's Crossbow) vs. Vonnetate (Back Row) >Atramor heals self (Back Row) Hoke uses Phoenix Essence on Gnash (Front Row) >Dyric uses Potion on Phil (Back Row) >Phil (Hammer of Dastan) vs. Vonnetate (Back Row) >Gnash (City Watch Halberd) vs. Vonnetate (Back Row) Paladin Shrine Battle Summary: >Cronk (Zoot's Bane) vs. Expert A (Back Row) >Thothwick (Banana Saber) vs. Apprentice A (Back Row) >Arthur (Light, Sir Roderick's Sword) vs. Expert A >Hans (Sword of Dastan) vs. Expert A (Back Row) >Nyx (Light, Book of a Thousand Creatures) vs. Expert B OR if both Experts are dead, (Fire, Book of a Thousand Creatures) vs. Zee (Back Row) >Alexis (Mockthril Longbow) vs. Master A (Back Row) >Alexis (Mockthril Longbow) vs. Master B (Back Row) >Poletad heals ally with lowest Health (Back Row)

Great, Arthur can take your spot! It's a testament to Zepher that Gnash managed to tip the balance between Arthur ignoring both sides to Arthur slightly favoring the Town Watch. Of course, it's extremely unlikely Arthur will sign onto a TW Quest over, say, Proggs or Zeigfrieds (or ESPECIALLY Byblos/Pandemonicon), but if he's ever idle in the Hall and the Fields are occupied and no other Quests tied to his major storylines are in preparation, he might sign up for a Wolfgang/Town Watch Quest. Also, why do people seem to not notice Effects on NPCs? Or even their basic abilities? The allied NPCs in this game are awesome, but it feels like only Singerson gets any real appreciation in-battle; even Punii is largely ignored.

"Sir Cronk, if I'm put just after Thothwick and target Expert A, I'll have a better chance of Stunning all the enemies. It's worth a shot, at least." Arthur awaits Cronk's orders and follows them.
-
I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed to miss another trip out to Dastan as well, even if the Rito aren't exactly the most familiar characters to Arthur. Hopefully there'll be another chance to wander out that direction for new adventures.

"Yes, but if we focus fire on Zee and the Experts, the Stunned effect will be used up anyway. Better to gain a bit of extra Gold than to waste my efforts completely."
-
Same here. I really, REALLY want to share this Quest with you guys, I think it'll be a lot of fun for everyone, but the preparation is absolutely torturous.
-
"I was thinking it would be a good idea to gain additional Ether through my attack if I can, while we are protected, rather than draining our already-limited supply of Tonics and Ether Cores later on. You make a good point, though...I'll go ahead and cast a Light spell through Sir Roderick's Sword at Expert A instead, or against Expert B if A is already dead, and if I attack Zee, I'll use my Garnet, still channeled through Sir Roderick's Sword. Although...Sir Cronk, since my Magnetic Mojo will be of little use this Round, since your Angel will absorb the Free Hits anyway, may I go at the top of the Order to maximize my odds of earning Gold?"
-
Arthur attacks Expert B if Expert A is dead, or Zee if both Experts are already dead.
-
"I've got Expert A." Arthur attacks Expert A physically from the Front Row with the Staff of Ennon.
-
What, Bilbert Wigglepike not good enough for you?
-
I thought that one was an Artifact.
-
Shouldn't he have imbued the Scroll of Luck into the Loaded Die, then, destroying them both? Like you said, to each his own. In other news, the Hollow Oak just became my favorite UQ area, just because the enemies there are so cute and creative! Also, @Q50: Y U no give Cinna a shield?
-
Welcome back, Jebs and Xarrzan. I have to confess, I have no idea what point that is. I must have imbued a Scroll of Getting the Point into one of my artifacts at some point.
-
"Sir Cronk, care to take out Master A with a Free Hit? You should definitely heal yourself, though, unless you'd like me to do it?" Unless Cronk orders otherwise, Arthur repeats his attack.
-
I'm more worried about the movie doing to Han Solo what KotCS did to Indy than I am about Harrison Ford himself--Ford's a great actor, he can take a script all the way from "appalling" to "mediocre"; that means we only need a mediocre script in order for him to make Episode VII great!

The Pod was brought out about an hour after the store opened and placed in an empty display case by an employee. The first person who told them the name of the Pod ("Pod 7" for me) won it and got to keep it. In addition to winning the Pod, I (and every person who visited the pod and spoke to the employee) got a t-shirt and the opportunity to sign up for the LU Alpha testing.

And now my decision to use a one-of-a-kind face for Arthur bites me in the butt. Seriously, though, Sandy, how can you afford such a HUGE collection?! Are you related to Bill Gates or something?!
