  1. Arthur coughs roughly, sickly. The sound of Vipera's voice seemed to have helped, at least a little. "Sewers...XX...may be saved...Nyx, go..." He slumps back again, what little strength he had rapidly fading. 2. Pie, be glad that Arthur's not in a state to read between the lines at the moment. Very glad. Expect him to pop up and kill you if/when anyone, you know, actually states the obvious.
  3. OOC: If you recall, I equipped the Lens instead of the Die prior to that incident. "Gray...the Spires...they aren't...I heard...Marilith...Mephisto...Abraxas...they..." Arthur's eyes cloud, and he slumps back. "A folly must be punished...a folly must be rewarded...a folly must be punished...Heroica will be ours to eat...the Lord of Chaos loves no mortal..." "Damned be... So loyally all these years! ...the curse shall not... no precaution...no plan...fools...the world will burn...freeze...fry...Chaos already has a master...the Lord of Chaos loves no mortal..." Arthur continues spouting the same fragments of speech, over and over again, apparently unaware of his surroundings.
  4. I just went under the impression that days pass at roughly normal speed, but weeks, months, etc. pass far quicker than in our world--but at the same time, the aging processes of mortals also runs much more quickly, so it all evens out to roughly "normal" passage of time as far as aging goes. Then again, I've probably overthought this a bit.
  5. Eh, Guts can just bribe a mage ( ) into casting a spell that turns Hybros into a secondary character in a Zepher quest. ...or the other way around, Arthur isn't above working for the highest bidder... ...it's like Animal Crossing: City Folk all over again, but with blood. Please. These Spires are getting old, in-character especially. I hope so--that's a big part of the "getting nothing out of it" perception.
  6. Well, yeah, Thothwick didn't know Triad. Haldor and Arthur, on the other hand... So wait, we killed Triad, who was in great physical shape and ready to help us, while we lost use of Felton to save Mallelio, who is, has been, and will continue to be absolutely useless?! God, I hate this Spire crap. I just want to win a fight and actually get something useful out of it, is that too much to ask?! (Don't mind me too much, Zeph, I'm just bored and complaining and in a bad mood because of my computer. )
  7. They're both in 53, I think that can be arranged.
  8. I second this, the lightsaber bars are highly useful in many situations, producing them in new colors (especially transparent colors) will ALWAYS be welcome.
  9. Yes. Eh, how about like in Super Smash Bros Brawl: a consumable item that, if thrown at an enemy with low enough health (say, 10% of maximum) has a chance to turn the enemy into some kind of token or trophy that can be sold in the Marketplace for a fair amount of money, the value of which is likely based on Level and Health or something to that effect. If the health is too high, or the capture chance fails, the item does a fixed amount of damage and is destroyed.
  10. Quick, add "ghost of the ugly prince" to the Fields enemy roster! On that subject, DO you add new Fields monsters from time to time? Or are you limiting yourself (and now Pie and JimB) to monsters that are already made, and they will never change?
  11. Good point... EDIT: Well, actually he could, he'd just have to take off the Dread Hat first.
  12. Shouldn't the Scroll in his hat make him immune to the special, though? Since it prevents SP reduction?
  13. Again, I hate it when people don't read battle plans.
  14. Huh. I never noticed this before. I wonder if it's affected the way I build my models? I seem to recall people messing about with custom camera settings (including FOV) back in the day of the original versions (i.e. the days when FACTORY was brand new), but I have NO idea if it's still possible now.
  15. Your mention of my two favorite childhood themes has instantly erased any concerns I had about Ninjago's return.
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks! If horror is your forte, you may want to check out the Action Themes forum, home of Monster Fighters and Legends of Chima. Enjoy your stay!
  17. Welcome! Great to see another Californian here! Northern or Southern CA? I'm sure you'll find plenty of nostalgia in the Action Themes forum, and if you're looking to be inspired (or like me, intimidated ) by the amazing custom modulars our members have built, you may want to check out the Town forum. Again, welcome, and enjoy your stay!
  18. I won't mind that, honestly. (Well, Hayden Christiansen, but still.) Vader canonically did that a fair number of times, as has Luke, so I've got no real problem with that. It seems like the best way to deal with the "disconnect", if it's even necessary. After all, Episode VI SHOULD have come out in 3d by that point, so the OT plot should be fresh in everyone's mind...
  19. Not at all, I'm actually asking for a throwaway reference I could drop into my Quest. Presumably, the Cathedral has been around for a very long time (perhaps even longer than Heroica itself), and the priests might remember a time before the Massacre when the Heroes interacted more with their order (compared to the current emphasis on the Ennoc-worshippers of the Paladin Order). I'm trying my best to weave the entire history of the game world as we know it into the mindset of the Priests, not as overt things that say "ooh look at how well the QM's referencing other Quests" (not that ANYONE actually does that ), but more as a "oh wow, these people really HAVE been around for a while, and they HAVE been paying attention to Heroica, even though we've sort of ignored them." It's something Pie did really well in Quest 51, and Etzel and WBD both do the same in their Quests; they give the impression that there's a larger world outside what the Heroes experience, an ordinary day-to-day existence that the Heroes will never know. "It's a little sad, really, when you think about it, but I suppose that's just one of the sacrifices you Heroes make so the rest of us can continue to lead those lives." (As an aside, Sandy, of course, is one of the biggest exhibitors of these sorts of things, but because he's the "leader" and the creator of the game world, it generally tends to read more like foreshadowing than as world-building, though the two ARE intricately connected, in any case. ) Let me rephrase, there should be more of that IN parties that are 5-8 players large. I VERY MUCH appreciate the smaller Quests and think there should be more of them, but I also like those where Arthur can get to interact with multiple less familiar faces. One of my greatest regrets about Dastan was missing the great chance to talk to everyone prior to the final battle; it was an amazing opportunity for roleplaying that I doubt we'll see ever again.
  20. On another topic, it's struck me just how much one extra person affects the pacing of a Quest. Small parties (or better yet, a large party split into multiple smaller ones) just naturally move faster, while big giant parties have to wait forever for all of the actions to get in. Moral of the story? We totally need to split into two- or three-character units, we'll all be slaughtered, but at least the slaughter will move along quickly! In all seriousness, though, I somewhat like how Sandy handled splitting the party in the spiders battle of Quest 44. I'd like to see a little more of that; it keeps the party size down even with a larger group, without leaving a bunch of players sitting around doing nothing while a different sub-party keeps fighting (and at the same time lets BOTH groups move more quickly than they otherwise could have).
  21. Docken will reach Mime, and the game will instantly end. By the way, Sandy, do you plan on revealing more about the Massacre of Heroes that took place just prior to the Test Quest? If not (or even if so!), I'd like to get a bit more information, in whatever manner would be most appropriate (PM, Library, etc.).
  22. Ah, I see, I'll edit the description. Thanks!
  23. Damage Damage Damage Damage Just sayin, real luck is more important than in-game Luck. I think Arthur wasted his money buying Nostrums, he's totally not made enough money back using them.
  24. The sequel to that video:
  25. So, how exactly do I use the HDR light rendering mentioned at the bottom of Page 13? I see info on tweaking the .ini file, but not where in the file to put things, or if I need to do something straight from the converter.
