  1. doesn't update his status nearly as much as Endgame. :P

      Dannylonglegs

I find it's fun to taunt him every-time he does. It usually relates to the quest at hand...

  2. I'm going to try to ignore the accidental and disturbing innuendo there and try to appreciate the Star Wars reference.
  3. Can't order Corny around. - From the Heroica RPG. I'm pretty sure it's because my character ordered CorneliusMurdock's character (our Party Leader) to put him at a certain point in the Battle Order because the QM keeps trying to kill us it was our best shot at surviving the fight. Because I told CorneliusMurdock to change Zepher's username to Josh Zephdon due to his habit of turning dearly beloved secondary characters into redshirts (a la Phil Coulsen). This is the result. Given by CorneliusMurdock, naturally.
  4. We need more Heroica-derived titles. Seriously, if people saw half of the stuff we say in here, taken out of context, then surely they'd want to see how on earth those particular phrases came into existence. (Well, that and we'd be able to advertise that way via the Titles thread, since pretty much everyone reads that... ) And apparently ninja'd at some point without even realizing it.

    Lego and cats

My cats normally aren't a problem when it comes to LEGO, I trained them early on that they were off-limits. However, if I've got a model on the table from photography and leave it there overnight, sometimes I'll wake up in the morning and find that they got mad at each other and chased around the house all night. The evidence is usually a completely destroyed model mess of bricks scattered all across the floor, with a pair of very friendly cats sitting nearby with a look of supreme innocence on their faces.
  6. So, stupid question time: is there a way to reduce how glossy the bricks are in the render? I don't mind most of the reflections, but (for my specific purpose) I'd prefer the reflections to be blurrier (i.e. less like a mirror). On a similar note, is there a way to make POV-ray ignore objects that are behind the camera? (For specifics, I built a model on a baseplate, and since it's a "cutaway" shot of a building, I'd like there to not be a reflection of the baseplate on the front edge of the set, if that's possible without expert-level programming skills.)
  7. Speaking as a Trek fan, I complained BITTERLY when Abrams made the reboot movie, but when I finally watched it, I had to admit that, aside from a few issues with abducting Spock, I think he did a good job. I'm disappointed that the original timeline is pretty much guaranteed to be abandoned for all future media now, but at least Star Trek Online is around. Personally, I really hope Abrams has read a lot of Karen Traviss' work, but it's unlikely he'll be able to fix anything that TCW has broken. (On the other hand, maybe with a new movie in the works TCW will have to settle down and conform to Abrams' vision, which would be AWESOME. ). As long as he respects Zahn and the Dark Horse comics, I'm cool with him in charge. Actually, I take that back, as long as he does that AND doesn't do something stupid like raising Darth Vader from the dead, I'm cool with him.
  8. THAT'S IT! Thank you so much, that's excellent advice for my own Quest-in-construction; I've realized now that flat damaging specials are, frankly, not nearly as fun as more varied abilities. Now when I'm constructing stats, I'll know specifically (rather than instinctively) not to overuse those. Thanks, Scuba!
  9. He did. Any enemy that is designed to be an insta-kill like that deserves to be demolished unexpectedly.
  10. Tell that to pretty much every freakin' enemy on this Quest! EDIT: emoticon change.
  11. But as it stands, Witch isn't balanced and fun to play. EDIT: Nah, I'll wait until later to express that particular opinion.
  12. Problem is, 50% or more of the time, Special Mirror ends up being enough to KO the Witch before they can reflect the attack...
  13. Nerfed again...oh, well. I like that for Witch, it's still not totally OP, but also lets the Witch's SHIELD actually help the party. Also, my main computer is down for...the forseeable future. I MAY be able to check in once a day (if I'm lucky), but otherwise... WBD can control Arthur for the time being if I'm not around.
  14. As much as I am probably going to regret it...Sandy? Clarification? Are Scroll success rolls affected by Lucky?
  15. Um, I don't see why it shouldn't be?! Scrolls already have to deal with not preventing Free Hits AND costing Ether even on a failure, not letting them be affected by Lucky would be crazy. Lucky is like Felix Felicis in Harry Potter, all of your actions are granted better odds of success while you are under its influence. RE: Stun discussion: Sandy said he had always run Stun this way, and after some reflection, it DOES make sense, even though it was yet another nerf for my character; think of it more like flinching in Pokemon than Stun in, say D&D or Knights of the Old Republic. RE: Witch: I like options 3 and 4. And if 3 is chosen, then hosts should always have a solo side-Quest ready for Witches, since they're useless against groups.

  17. What about the one Arthur met on Q17? Also, there have been a couple of new journal entries, particularly the one during the Master of Regret sequence.
  18. Hey, WBD, you have the opportunity to Favor Beasts, since you rolled SHIELD. Not that I'd particularly advise it at the moment, but the option is there.
  19. Vaarsivus would like to disagree. Speaking of which, Zeph, an offer of a Familicide spell would likely make for a potent temptation for several Q53 characters. Also, where did people get the impression Arthur isn't friendly to new Heroes?!? Arthur treats new heroes exactly how Althior treated him. ..oh god, he has Althior as a role model.
  20. Witch DEFINITELY needs a buff. Hex in particular is majorly under-powered.
  21. Hey Sandy, try putting Ellaria's face and hair on the torso from the Series 9 Fortune Teller with the legs from the Series 5 Gladiator. (Go ahead and switch the Fortune Teller's arms to dark red with yellow hands.) She looks AWESOME in this outfit.
  22. They're a normal Marketplace weapon class now, you can buy a WP:5 broomstick from Anwyl at any time.
  23. I've just been re-reading the opening of Quest 19 because I was getting the timeline snarled up. Gosh, Dyric, that was the best possible way to handle that situation (speaking here from the perspective of writing a TV show), it defused the situation from getting more awkward (at least for FCC purposes ) while simultaneously injecting humor.
  24. I seem to recall you saying otherwise, but I don't have time to dig out the comment right now. I'll try to look for it later. Please tell me you'll give perma-KO'd players SOMETHING to do while we wait around for days for everyone else to play with the dice... I know, right? It's like the "hardcore" attitude creep that ruined Smash Bros and Mario Kart for me. Not saying that battles should be easy, but thanks to the current "epic" kick it's like walking across the street to go buy milk has become a life-or-death, edge-of-your-seat ordeal. I'm not a huge fan of EVERYTHING being so...intense. Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand that the "epic" trend is just that, a trend, but I think we've just about milked it for all it's worth at this point. After this wave, it's definitely time to give it a rest and go help some random guy clear out a spooky cave or go rob a warehouse or fight all the furniture in someone's house. Something a little lighter, something that's more fun than frustrating.
