Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

As everyone exits the theatre, Arthur remembers something. He stoops to pick up the envelope that fell to the ground when the dinosaurs appeared. -
Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

"That, my good man, would be a question for the Zeigfrieds. They have always been the most talented at magic of that scale." -
There's a browser game I play, Fallen London, in which, due to the impermanence of death, a sort of game of murder has arisen. Perhaps, given the protections of the Veterans, a group of overconfident and bored Heroes might invent such a game for themselves? For inspiration... (And, if anyone wants to join FL--I do recommend it--joining through my profile page earns me coffee, which is more than a little helpful for me. )

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

"Demonic food, you say? Likely the work of Barbariccia, no doubt. I suspect her involvement with the black rider we faced guarding the rear entrance. First the rider, then the goons, and finally Donny and Violetta themselves. But we remained united in our efforts to defeat them, and so we triumphed." -
Knowing who Sylph is and Cronk's general demeanor...I disagree. But that's exactly it--with a different party, the story might take a completely different direction. What would Heroica have been like if three more loyal Heroes had gone on Quest 6 and killed Donny? Or if a more competent Mage had helped Violetta escape, or if a different group of Heroes had decided to side with Reno instead of Nemo? I like thinking about what might have been...

You know, sometimes I wonder how different Quests might have gone differently with different parties. Like if Nur had gone on Quest 7, or Cronk on 48.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

Arthur joins pretty much everyone else in the room in giving Grimwald an odd look. -
Well, in RP terms I imagine Arthur as rather hard to hit--he'd generally fight with Calibor's staff and the Cloak of Deception on at all times, and since it'd be an RP-only fight he'd wear the Jester's Hat too just to make it even harder for someone to hit him. Simple: because they weren't supposed to let him know that. Did you see how quickly Violetta shushed Donny? Dead giveaway that that was the truth.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"It is as Lord Boomingham and Sir Thothwick say. Tonight we killed three villains...but the worst is still to come. Before we leave tonight, I'd like a moment of silence for those who died tonight...and for three people who died on the inside years and years ago. Violetta...Donny...Steerpike. They have been a pain in all our megablocks for a long time. Imagine the pain in the megablocks they could have been to our enemies, if they had chosen a different life. If it hadn't been for one man...Ulric. HE is the one responsible for all of this--a selfish bastard who seeks his own power at the expense of all of Eubric. He is this city's greatest villain, and there is only one way we can defeat him: Unity." "Ulric is a dangerous foe. His words sow fear and discord, setting brother against brother, friend against friend. With Baba, or Barbariccia, or whatever she calls herself, at his side, his power to enthrall others will only be stronger. We must grow stronger as well, and we can only do that by working together, by dispensing with the rivalries and enmity of the past and embracing each others' strengths and differences to make a stronger city for everyone: newcomers and natives, magical and muggle, living and undead, rich and poor. Make no mistake: this is war, a war for the hearts and minds of Eubric's citizens. Ulric's promises of a better life are lies, but the only way to prove him false is to make this city a better place, and to do it together." "If we do our Duty in Unity, we can achieve a prosperous Destiny for all. And I think we all want that." Arthur steps off the stage and shakes the hand of each of the House leaders in turn. As he shakes Hestia Bonaparte's hand, he secretly slips her a small note. As the Hinckwells and the Shadeaux are at the end of the line, Arthur finishes with a few extra comments to them. "Sometimes the young possess wisdom beyond that of even the eldest and wisest Elves. From what I have heard, your children possess such wisdom. Use it well." He nods respectfully first to Lord Hinckwell, then to Baron Shadeaux, before returning to the stage with the other Heroes. -
It appears I have one fewer Smelling Salts than I had previously thought. Sorrow will have to Hasten the Chaosaur if we want the extra damage (I'd also recommend him Deadly Venom-ing someone's blade, just to add that extra 10 damage per turn.)
-
Could he at least Counterstrike so the charge goes faster? EDIT: Referring to the Hasten + Counterstrike strategy Zeph and I discussed in PM.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

"Lord Boomingham, if we Hasten the beast, I can keep it Blind while you Counterstrike it for extra damage. Shall we take that course?" "If you don't mind, I'll use the Staff of Ennon instead--I'm rather low on Ether, but I don't see any need to waste any Tonics or Ether Cores on me." Also, I should have 5 Ether, as I lost 4 and gained 4. Arthur's Actions: >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur - >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur - OR >Arthur uses Scroll of Frailty on Chaosaur - >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur OR >Arthur uses Scroll of Frailty on Chaosaur - >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur - OR >Arthur uses Scroll of Frailty on Chaosaur - OR Arthur (Staff of Ennon) vs. Chaosaur - -
It's OK, we're allowed to discuss D.I.D. here.

Mind=blown. Am I the only one who's slightly more excited about hearing more Jay Vincent music than I am about the show or the sets? (Then again, I AM still trying to gather enough cash for THIS year's wave of sets, let alone budgeting for the next wave...)
-
I'd be tempted, but not if the Hinckwells are the ones pitching it. Or if it conflicts with the Byblos Quest, there is no way I'm missing that Quest.
-
Well, except for the fact that I can't use his summary of Boomingham as-is on the Characters page on TV Tropes, which is sort of a drag since Boomingham is the one I need a blurb for most.

There has not been a Revan minifig. Believe me, if there was, I'd have it. Damn I'll probably use Bobba Fett's helmet then. The Mandalorian Super Commando helmet (see here) from 75022 Mandalorian Speeder seems like it would work well as a Revan helmet (recall, if you will, the origin of that mask), especially for your purposes, Shoker. Awesome! ...although...why is she wearing Valentine Zeigfried's shirt?
-
Chi Monk, maybe? But then again that would render most of your gear worthless... Man, you really should have been on 53. Regulator would have been perfect for you...
-
holy crap Alex Goot is amazing! O_O
-
K-Nut, is Althior a Necromancer or not?! Revive Tensi with Ether, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than an Essence, ya dummy!
-
I have Skirmisher!Arthur and Chi Monk!Arthur built, but I haven't found a Dragoon or Regulator outfit I've liked yet.
-
It's not. It IS a group convo, though--perhaps that may be part of the issue? Also, CJP, replied.

Sorrow (Endgame) Sorrow is a revenant undead with a Deadpan Snarker alter ego by the name of Syntax--an alter ego that is the literal manifestation of his guilt and sorrow. Killed in a fire as a very young child, he was revived by his necromancer "father" using the Antimutilav, a dangerous Scroll with horrific consequences if used improperly. Sorrow originally looked and (for the most part) aged like any other human being, but when his "father" was Sealed, he began to decay--leading to his fiancée's discovery of his condition and him having to leave. He spent the next four hundred years wallowing in guilt and pain as he searched for the man who ruined his master--until he joined Heroica, and found new purpose in his life. Sorrow is heavily driven by his past; though he does not often bring it up himself, anything that reminds him of his past (or manages to sufficiently tick him off) is liable to bring out Syntax, necessitating an explanation when he calms down enough for Sorrow to maintain control. Unlike most of the split personalities in Heroica, Sorrow and Syntax are very clearly aspects of the same personality, with Syntax taking certain negative qualities and driving them to extremes. Both Sorrow and Syntax are possessed of a sarcastic, biting wit that they are willing to unleash upon pretty much anyone who provokes them in the slightest. Sorrow has also proven himself to be an excellent tactician, both as a party leader and as a consultant to those who lead him. Of the Assassins in Heroica, Sorrow best represents the "Vanilla" Assassin; no cause, no theme, no gimmicks, just pure, clean efficiency.

That's OK. Gives you a chance to update the Q66 Battle Order. Also: @ Capt.JohnPaul: reply to my PM, dammit!
