  1. "Not sure if it's the spell, the species, or some combination of both. All I know is, every time I've seen an immortal get mixed up with magic of a certain degree, Bad Things tend to happen to them. Be glad you're not an Oculoid, there's some pretty messed-up things bouncing around in this head of mine--although, truth be told, I seriously doubt they alone can get much more than surface thoughts out of me. Having a Pandemonicon inscribed into one's brain is a terrible burden, but it has its benefits sometimes." Arthur holds on to the Crumbling Venom, and leads the party into the final unexplored room. "Hmm...Minoid, once we make it out of here, could you at least cause a large enough rockslide at the entrance to make sure no one can ever come down here again?"
  2. Arthur examines the potions on the shelf . "Plans? Simple: Gather the mirrors, map out the basement, puzzle out the way out of here, free Lynne, put the other three out of their misery, go upstairs, clear the library, and free or defeat the giant. After that? I'm going to have Minoid plant a bunch of explosives and blow this place sky high." " Speaking of which, Minoid, if you can plant charges down here that will go off when you blow the floor above, do it."
  3. Don't forget, Pie has smartly chosen a number of Artifacts that will follow him between classes--it's less "Regulator" and more "good general build"--he won't be losing much when he shifts to Infiltrator, that's for sure. I'd actually argue that Regulator is a weaker choice than Skirmisher--unlike Regulator, Skirmishers can tank from the back while still doing ranged damage with thrown pole-arms, and Phalanx is insanely good. Assistance is another fantastic job trait, and we also get an amazing "Miss" roll in Defend (admittedly, it's not as good as Pessimism, but considering that most Skirmishers will be mega-tanks it's insanely good). Also, don't forget that "Optimism" only affects the Regulator, while "Rally" affects the whole party--that can potentially make a whole lot of difference. ...I really, really want to see Skirmisher Skrall and Alexandre now, a Skirmisher power team-up sounds hella fun.
  4. Hmm...I think I could swing that, actually. Kinto DOES have Denarii built, after all. I feel you though, JimB--I really enjoyed getting to play WW in CAT, and if a new Quest offered access I might be tempted--or maybe even for my second character once that comes about.
  5. " I hope you succeed, Minoid." Arthur checks the journal page and mirror, as usual. " If my hunch is correct...Minoid, could you tell me if that South passage leads into the room with the glass case like I suspect it to?"
  6. Well, this was...interesting. While I'm here: Come join the Heroica RPG! It's a TON of fun, and we're always looking for new players.
  7. OOC: I'm assuming you're saying that after we've already moved. "I seriously doubt they're down here. The other residents we've met would have said something, and a few of them have mentioned how nothing else has been down here in ages. Also, I can't shake the feeling we were set up--that for some reason Regret wanted us to come down here."
  8. Arthur snorts. "Doubtful. My Oculoids are superior to you in every way. But I will allow you to carry on as you have already. You're not worth the effort it would take to dispose of you." Arthur waves dismissively, indicating to the others to ignore the Dauntlet for now. He retrieves the mirror and leads the party into the previous room and then West. OOC: Let's get the rest of this dungeon explored so we can start putting the pieces together, shall we?
  9. "I care not for your words. Proof! Tell me your status report and we will see how 'impeccable' your memory is." Though he knew the Dauntlet was unlikely to pick up on it, Arthur's voice was laced with cruelty, just as the real Regret's tone would be.
  10. "Prove it." Arthur commands coldly.
  11. Also, we need a new Expert Class between "Dragoon" and "Minstrel" so that the pages line up nicely for Minstrel and Necromancer again.
  12. K-Nut, don't take this the wrong way, but...are you even paying attention to your Quest-mates? On another note, are Jebs and I the only people who have read the rules page and noticed that Necromancers can revive their allies with Ether? And noticed that, in fact, it's the only way they could concievably get a "Raise the Dead" on the last enemy in battle (since healing actions get rolled even after the last enemy dies)?
  13. This is the first time her wish has actually been helpful.
  14. Djinnifer just got interesting...
  15. Dastan Trilogy (esp. Quest 30), and ESPECIALLY Quest 53.
  16. Speaking of Tidings gifts, I never properly thanked you for the cape, did I, Sandy? I was actually considering that cape for my Dragoon avatar, and the concept of an artifact that changes with reputation is brilliant--I'd really love to see more artifacts with that reputation mechanic in the future.
  17. Something I'm actually considering, though I'd prefer something more like Pretzel's shako in footwear form. Speaking of policing stats, how did Tangleweed D take 10 damage and be Blinded if it was KO'd? (And on a related note, doesn't Encouraged still affect Aim rolls?)
  18. Oh, right. I'd...kinda forgotten that Quest existed.
  19. Huh? Wait, is that a preview?
  20. Arthur looks over his companions, a bit of distrust in his eyes. "Well, Claire...Cliff...I suppose we should keep moving forward. We may have to come back for the password to the Library, though." Arthur was obviously quite dissatisfied with the answers the bookmark had given him regarding the giant, but it wasn't personal. Arthur and the party head North.
  21. I can, but it would have to be predetermined with very specific other QMs--i.e. something like the Heroes are fighting in an Ethereally-charged location, which would explain why the Void Walk was drawn to that specific battle. What would be even cooler is if the Void Walk just threw that enemy into the other Quest, not specifically as an enemy, just "random planeswalker there now" and see what happens.
  22. ... And here I thought all this time that the QMs were making the treasures up by themselves.
  23. Silly question that won't happen because there are no Level 1 mages and they'd be poor anyway: what would happen if a Level 1 mage consumed Ella's Pie?
  24. We need a listing of the more common "valuable items" (i.e. Scrap Metal) somewhere.
  25. OOC: Status report, my living situation is getting worse, not better. Will be fairly absentee for a while. " What's the deal with the robot upstairs? Any way we can free him?"
