  1. "If it works for you, I'm happy for you. Speaking of being happy for you, I do expect an invitation to the eventual wedding, you hear?" Arthur hands Masson the catalog sheet they'd found earlier. "If the two of you need any help with the preparations, just let me know." "Believe me, if his plans come to fruition, your proximity to his abandoned base will be the least of your problems. Just stay away from that area and you'll be fine." "What he said."
  2. Arthur chuckles. "Comes with the territory. I'm far too meddlesome for my own good, I regularly get involved with things that are far too big for me...like I did with the Watch, for example." He turns to Masson. "How are they treating you and the Syndicate? They decide to kick you out for following orders yet?" "He's pretty smart, I'll give him that much. Might want to buff his shielding, though, I kept worrying he'd break beyond our ability to repair him. Should teach him how to wear Artifacts, too, while you're at it. Still, he was an enormous help down there, I don't think we would have been half as effective without him." "I should warn you--this entire island is an artificial creation, cobbled together by the arcane magic of a mad abomination bent on world domination. You built your mine on top of his old base. Now, thanks to Minoid we've ensured that nothing's getting out of there, but you all need to give the place a wide berth. Those ancient ruins are to be entered nevermore." "Oh, and before I forget..." Arthur pulls the load of diamonds out of his pack. "I believe Count Shadeaux is waiting on these, is he not?"
  3. It's the bold text, yeah. Just wondering if it aids players in spotting the useful information or if it just clutters up the stats unnecessarily.
  4. Yeah, as hilarious as that level gap would have been, there's no way I could balance a fair fight around it. Speaking of fair fights, what sort of enemy formatting do most people prefer? This: Or this?
  5. Current Sign-Ups for Quest #104: Ace Assassin: Dual Dragoons Warlen Melimane, Level 1 Mage (The Chosen Minifigure) Siercon, Level 6 Mage (Siercon and Coral) Actaeon Artus, Level 1 Ranger (Actaeon) Yuji Daeth, Level 1 Cleric (Daeth) The Demon Germ, Level 1 Rogue (samuraiturtle) Alexandre le Chevalier, Level 27.33 Black Knight (Capt. JohnPaul) Ten days remaining.
  6. Furries don't like it when you call it that.
  7. Arthur bows his head somberly as the life drains from the giant's shattered body. Loot Distribution: Erdathcath--Machine's Heart, Neutralizer, Emergency Essence Grimwald--Topaz, 75 Gold Arthur--Tiger Balm, 75 Gold OOC: (I'll also take back the Remedies and Grand Potions I gave to Minoid (along with the weapons, obviously), but you guys can keep whatever consumables you borrowed from me, I only need the Scrolls/weapons/Artifacts back and I can sort that out when I get back from dinner. )
  8. Pie! You know better than to refer to a person as an "it"! (But yeah, the point still stands even with the book as a staff. )
  9. Books are throwing weapons, yes, though since the "book" part is only flavor I imagine Nyx's book could be considered a wand (since its use profile says it's for Mages only anyway).
  10. Yeah, when I saw Danny had posted, I got my hopes up for a conversation, but alas.
  11. You'd better start prepping if you want another shot at Regret, Danny, I believe that finale is next.
  12. "Of course," Arthur says, kneeling next to the fatally wounded automaton.
  13. "All-out on that stalactite--this ends here." Arthur retrieves his throwing weapons, then waits for the others to make their attacks. Minoid fires the Quick Bow at Stalactite B from the Back Row. Grimwald Blinds the Left Hand and swings the Splinter Broom at Stalactite B from the Back Row. Erdy fires her handcannon at Stalactite B from the Back Row, then fires again. When the moment, at last, arrives, Arthur makes an important decision. If the heart more than 280 HP, he throws his Gladiator Trident at the Right Hand from the Back Row; if it's at or less than 280 HP, however, he throws his Chaotic Bomb from the Back Row. Actions take place in the order listed. (Yes, I'm being melodramatic. )
  14. Again, if the Scholar is doing their job AT ALL, this isn't an issue--Arc Scrolls will in all likelihood never see use in a Scholar's SHIELD roll, since they should be OPENING every fight with them.
  15. This is quite possibly the best representation of divinity possible in any context.
  16. "Do you think there's a way we could prevent them from dealing a Scissor Slash? Burn out the motors or something?"
  17. That thing wasn't undead, though, it was just immune to damage entirely; I'm pretty sure it was a puzzle.
  18. Could someone please actually do this? I'd like to see the canonical value for Adamantium so that, in turn, the value of a Shard can be calculated. (I mean, it could be argued that since Mythril is worth 1,000 Gold [Fields of Glory price] and it grants +10, Adamantium would be worth 2,500 since it grants +25, but official numbers are obviously preferable.)
  19. Phoenix Essences can't be used on undead. I remember because on 44, I pointed out that all they had to do was kill Sycamore and the Pheles Rod and throw an Incense at the enemies and the battle would have been pretty much over.
  20. "If we can dodge his hands, yes," Arthur replies, his Pessimism slightly abated with the enemy Jinxed. He keeps his guard up, however, knowing that the battle could turn on them at any moment. OOC: I thought the hands were immune to Jinxed? I was thinking about the stalactite/heart that should be Jinxed (until B is out of rounds). I won't say no to the enemies with the worst Specials not being immune to Jinxed, though.
  21. I imagine they would, the wording of the SHIELD roll wouldn't prevent it. Of course, if the Scholar is doing their job, they will have cast that arc scroll already, so it would be excluded thanks to the effect already being present.
  22. I was going to propose a totally OP joke item called "chips", but then I realized that a.)overhealing would actually be an interesting concept to explore somehow, and b.)chips should in no way be linked to the concept of "healing" of any sort, to do so would be a crime against nature.
  23. OOC: Jinxing is a permanent effect, just like Lucky.
  24. OOC: Wait...Minoid got a SHIELD while throwing the Unlucky Horseshoe, shouldn't that mean all non-immune enemies are Jinxed? That should include the stalactites and cavern roof, I think. Also looking at it, he should have had the Encouraged bonus from being in the Back Row, only weapon retrieval is from the front...aaand looking at that, it means the roof dropped one more stalactite. Stalactite A should be gone, though, this was its last Round. "Erdy, you go ahead and compound that poisoning as much as you can. Grimwald, focus on the attack for now--we need to save your Ether for Frail-ing the stalactites and Blinding the hands." Arthur throws Zoot's Rebel at Stalactite B and his Gladiator Trident at the Left Hand, both from the Back Row. Minoid shoots the Mortar Cannon with the Quick Bow from the Back Row. Erdy shoots Stalactite B twice from the Back Row. Grimwald swings his Splinter Broom at Stalactite B from the Back Row. Battle Order: >Arthur (Zoot's Rebel) VS Stalactite B (back): >Minoid (Quick Bow) VS Mortar Cannon (back): >Grimwald (Splinter Broom) VS Stalactite B (back): >Erdathcath (Tritech Handcannon) VS Stalactite B (back): >Erdathcath (Tritech Handcannon) VS Stalactite B (back): >Arthur (Gladiator Trident) VS Left Hand (back):
  25. Bright Polish can be used on any Artifact that grants SP, but ONLY on those Artifacts that already have it (so I couldn't, for example, buy 50 Bright Polish and make my Overkill Gloves grant SP:50, though if I had 50 Bright Polish I think my Overkill Gloves would be the least of anyone's concerns ).
