Jedi Temple Mafia - Sign Up Thread
Dakar A replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Voting early is a 100% scumtell. But since we're 5 seconds over the 24 hour mark, I Vote: Yoda (Masked Builder)! He just seems really shifty, with that wide-eyed stare. Let's just hope our doctor doesn't get us to bandwagon our blocker. -
Yeah. Not only will it be great inspiration, it will also be great blog fodder. I seriously can't wait to see all the entries!

Darn! I posted my optometrist too early! Oh well, the parks and rec and mini modular categories seem like good fits, but there's NO way I have enough parts for another modular right now! Time to start brainstorming! Oops! Seems like I may be able to get a building ready, seeing as I have a big breakdown-and-sort planned ofr the beginning of summer, so I may be able to get a modular planned and built!

So, books! Interesting to find out, I think I read the first two books in a series with Han and Leia's kids a while back, and I wasn't sure if Mara Jade was from the same series, or another series of SW books (Turns out she was!), or a spin-off T.V. show, like Clone Wars. -
This is literally the best Lego mairport I've ever seen, and the story was great as well. Could we get a lxf. file? Please?

LEGO CUUSOO BTTF DeLorean Time Machine ACHIEVED
Dakar A replied to Ceroknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
Two words: "Great SNOT!" But, I kinda figured that this would soon get to 10,000, since it and EVE were over 9,500 around the same time, I figured once one went, the other would follow quickly. Seems like the Cuusoo staff thought so also, since they added the June reveiw! -

I had absolutely NO idea who Mara Jade was in Bedtime Story, and still didn't, untill now, when I took the time to google her (Not in a dirty way! ). Is she from the series of books about Star Wars, or some out-there movie? Also, if we all get in, this looks like a reunion of Bedtime Story players! -

Alrighty! More mafia! 1.I played as Puss in Boots in Sandy's Mafia School: A Bedtime Story, and survived untill the conclusion. 2. I'll be free for the next 6 weeks, and even free-er after that. 3.I'd say Jar Jar, but I'd get murdered in my sleep (I read an article about the actor who played him, he seems like a really cool guy, and I think he gets too much shtick for the role. ) Truly, though my favourite charachter is Admiral Ackbar. Anytime I see something with the word trap in it, I immedeatly think of his line and scene. I'm also known to make bad puns involving "Our blank can't handle blank of that magnitude". I find it hilarious, but I don't think everyone else finds it quite as funny. -
I love the concept of animal-ispired fighters, and this one is pretty hard to beat on that! The bee shape is instantly recogniseable, but it is still beleivable as a starfighter! Great build, hope it wins!

Steampunk Mafia: Confirmation & Discussion
Dakar A replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Can't wait to follow this one... closely! I'll be signing up for the Forest II, as long as it's allowed. Also Masked Builder's game. And any other mafia games I can get my hands on! This game should be interesting, and nice setup, Hinck. -

I'll go with Call me Pie or die on this one, and only sign up for masked builder's ONLY I f I don't get chosen for this. I'd prefer to play in this one, though. -
Yeah, I've got my Green Grocer to experiment with er, I mean practice with! Thanks! That's exactly the feel I was tryiing to get with this! Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments!

Thanks! I'd wanted to do a orange and black MOC ever since the release of the Sebulba's podracer set! I just love that colour combo. Thanks Si-MOCs! They actually look better in this format, I tried them in an angled format, but the two flaps don't match ends, if you get what I mean. I sadly don't have more of the orange technic wing, but if I did, the two cockpits are held on by two sets of click hinges, and are removeable, so it is somewhat modular. I may try out other cockpit and scramjet designs! Thanks Hikaro! I can't claim 100% credit for the cockpit design, because it was inspired by this and this.

Completed. For some strange reason, I look forward to these! Did anyone else consent to do the more in-depth survey at the end?

Hello all of you Space fans! Dragonfire scramjet in motion by Dakar A, on Flickr In 2047, soon after the total phasing out of propeller enginge technology in favor of cheaper, faster scramjet engines, the Dragonfire orbit-tospace craft was develoed for short interplanetary travel. Famous for making the Earth to moon jump at the record time of 3 minutes on the 100th anniversary of Chuck Yeager's Mach 1 flight, it has taken its appropriate place as the toppersonal and private spacecraft. Fits two. A space motion shot of the ship, done in GIMP. Earth and the Moon are the background. Dragonfire Scramjet rear by Dakar A, on Flickr After my last MOC, I knew I had to do a Space MOC in black and orange, and this beauty was built (If I do say so myself!). Inspired by the Hotwheels car "Twin Mill II". Dragonfire Scramjet by Dakar A, on Flickr This guy was a fun little build, took me about an hour and a half. First came the orange pannels, then the ladders, and the rest just kinda followed! On a serious note, I dedicate this build to Nnenn. I may have never known you, virtually, or in real life, but your work is inspiring. I hate to imagine how your sonsfelt, because it pains me to think about suddenly losing my father. Rest in peace. Enjoy, and C&C welocme!

Subliminal messaging, eh? Well then, "Alex the great plays with megabloks". Chew on that! -
I love the concept, and really like the comm. car, and the ray gun. Maybe this will be the new space monorail?
-
Thanks, Lego Guy Bri! I expect to be able to do more and more in the future, maybe I'll even muster up the courage to go a 32x32 next!

1. As of yet, I've only been in Sandy's Mafia School: A bedtime story, where I survived (Untill the conclusion. ). 2. I should be able to get on as frequently as I had for the Mafia school, which is to say, in the early morning and late evining. I shouldn't have any schedule conflicts, but if one comes up, I'll be sure to PM you a heads-up. 3. I don't know if this was quite a roleclaim, but I loved the twist at the end of Red moon two, where the demons won on a technicality. Not picking the trusted members was pretty interesting. If that doesn't count, I'd say that I really like Tammono's "High preist" move. He had me going. -
Thanks! I learn a little bit (or a lot! ) from each modular I build, the official sets being no exception. Seeing as how this one, I took extra time to do an interior, it works alot better to build around chairs and tables, instead of placing them afterward.
-
Agreed. The MOC is amazing, and the fact that it has moving rotors is excelent as well. I see you going far, keep on building! Dakar
-
Thanks, LT! I was as surprised at ti working as you, but I agree, I do like the look. I may have to commit to this format once I get the Town Hall. Thanks Ryan! Coming up with the flooring patterns was the toughest detail to work out, followed closely by the window stonework.

B-OM-20E This is the new Brick Glasses vision superstore! My newest MOC, this time a Modular Glasses Store. This was inspired by two things: A recent trip to a Pearle Vision store, to get a new pair of glasses (It's great to see! ), and a recent search for 'townhouses' through Google. I was curious about the inspiration behind the Modular buildings, and hoped to get some of my own! Well, I soon learned that they are often called terraced houses outside of the U.S., so I know know the correct terms! The model is an end terrace. According to Wikipedia, "The first and last of these houses is called an end terrace, and is often larger than the houses in the middle." The Overdale townhouse is imagined as a renovated end terrace, with a new exterior, and modern shaping, but still retaining the original framework, so as to fit int! . This was a lot of fun to build, but required me to demolish a couple of WIPs and my Creator Family House. So, without further boring you , here's the streetcorner - Terraced Street 2 by Dakar A, on Flickr The building on the left is the store, while the one on the right is my Overdale Townhouse. Terraced Street corner 3 by Dakar A, on Flickr The rear was a lot of fun to do . The dumpster is from Flickr user ShadowViking, and the balcony was something I had wanted to include in one of my buildings for a long time. THe gables were stolen from inspired by Cimdwwic. Brick glasses interior- Floor 1-2 by Dakar A, on Flickr The first floor is where the store is located, with walls covered in rows and rows of glasses. There's a desk for the clerk, and drawers behind her for keeping patient's waiting glasses organised. Brick glasses interior- Floor 2-1 by Dakar A, on Flickr The second floor has residential areas. There's plenty of space for one person, and two could live here comfortably. There's a kitchenette, a computer and desk, and a futon (One right now, but room for many more... ). The stairs were fun to design, I tried for a 'modern' feel with them. Brick glasses interior- Floor 3-2 by Dakar A, on Flickr The third floor has the bathroom, a small dining table with chair, an IKEA armchair, a 45-inch flatscreen T.V., and the door to the balcony. The bathroom is a bit cramped, but fits a fig better than the one in the Pet Shop. There are more pictures in the Flickr set, and a blog post at Brick Town Talk! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and Comments and Criticisms welcome.
