  1. @davidmull im just not understanding how it works, the drive motor is connected to a cross axle that has the green-ish clutch first then a normal gear of the same size, under the clutch is a normal gear on a cross axle to another clutch which is connecting to the center differential, but above the clutch that the motor connects to is a normal gear which is connected to the steering. im just not understanding how that works. is it possible i can get a diagram or somthing???
  2. @ davidmull, ok i get the stering part of it, but how does the drive work considering its connected to a set of gears that are normal and clutch, the stering, and the center differential... i dont understand, if you have the unimog and dont mind taking it apart, can you show me how that would work??? i am so confused on this.
  3. hey radar92, does the back hoe have to be motorized?? im sure you can just ad some extra pneumatics (if u have some) and that should get rid of some weight, if im thinking correctly about how you built it.
  4. and how do you make it RC? i know how to make the turning rc, but i dont know where to put a motor for the drive, the only place i can find is the back axel on the gear that turns the differintial, but i dont know if there is enough room, and should i use a m motor or xl motor for the steering and drive?
  5. Thank you all for helping, im going to look around on ebay and blokbricks (which ive never heard of)
  6. @radar92 maybe this instead: or for your idea where the back hoe has its own operator and rollcage, extend the bed and add a third axle:
  7. ok so lets say im going to build the snow plow for the unimog using other peices, should i get the pneumatic tubing from lego (using the missing piece thing from customer service) or run the risk on bricklink of getting old tubing (where it had to be cut) i dont know what to do, i know that sometimes on lego replacement parts can get a little pricey sometimes... what do i do?
  8. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=orange+1x5+liftarm thats for the 1 x 5 liftarm in orange...
  9. how about making the mini la's into pneumatics... and regular la's into pneumatics...
  10. @timr oh ok... like ebay direct buy, kinda... right?
  11. @davidmull so the air tanks were really only used for the hand pumps??? so now the unimog has a compresser (i think thats the correct term) is it basicly the same concept??? like hand pump-> tank-> functions, compared to, motor + pneumatic cylinder (when used)-> functions??? same concept kinda...? im starten to confuse myself thinking about it, maybe i should put this idea aside and research pneumatics :P
  12. @DLuders thanks, i really havent explored the site, ive only used the site to see what parts are in other sets (like if i need a replacement i search that set number, find the part, and see if any sets that i have had that part) and theres bricklink stores??? i need to get out more i guess :l
  13. @davidmull oh ok, i dont really know anything about pneumatics, thanks for giving me a little bit more understanding about the tanks. its appreciated
  14. i say make a longer one, but with the 1m width of the mini pneumatics
  15. How does bricklink work?? is it a credit/debit card based site or paypal?
  16. well im not sure how much air the tank holds, but i was just thinking that so that i dont wear down the motor and the pump.
  17. Hey, for whoever has the mog, ive seen a video for the motorization of it to make it RC, and they put a motor on the driveshaft (i dont know what its called, but its the column of gears above the center differential) and i thought the whole thing was for the turning, but it connects to both how the mog turns and to the mog's center differential... i dont know how that works, im not in mechanics (well not yet, i might get into classes next year) and im just now getting into technic, i already have everything on order for me to make it RC ( and with pneumatic air tanks, but thats on another thread, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61872&st=0&gopid=1116405entry1116405 ) so how does it work???
  18. I know i might be a lil late on this topic, but lets say i have 2 air tanks (well on order on LEGO Education with some other mod parts) and i have tons of extra "T" pieces, can you use a T piece to split the air going to both tanks and combine the tubes coming from the tanks into one line (ex. -|=8=|- im not sure if it the "diagram" works or not :l if it doesnt im sorry bout that) but im not sure if that is possible since ive never messed with pneumatics before and how would you connect them to the frame without adding too much bulkiness? im just now getting into technic and im ordering the unimog, air tanks, motors/rc parts ( im going to try to motorize it), and extra tubing somehow... ive studied the instructions trying to figure out the best possible way but the instructions only help so much with their point of view, so if anyone could help me with this, it would be appreciated. oh and how do i get extra tubing other than ebay (ebays mostly pay-pal, and i dont have a bank account yet :l) or bricklink (i dont know how bricklink works or not... so im going to try to learn before i buy) ? and please excuse my foul grammar... and spelling...
